You are correct. I watch people cast away and never check to see if fish are near them. I can’t count how many times I’ve had steelhead use my legs as a break in the current. Swim right up and nose up on my shin in water that is a foot and a half deep
i loved that video, i learned a thing or two and it was a good video. i am surprised you don't have very many subscribers, you are a great you tuber, keep it up.
I have caught fish in close and fish far out on this river. My furthest cast was 97' of running line. And hooked into a monster I never got to see. It was sitting on the other bank. Think outside the box when steelhead fishing. And you will get fish. Stick to what some people tell you and you will only limit yourself. Tight Lines-
hello John, awesome content. Can you please recommend a flyline setup for fishing for early summer steelhead on the rogue? i will be cruising out there for a week this summer to visit my grandparents. do i need skagit? t14? leader set up? im fairly new to steelhead hunting. any info you can provide would be so great. thank you and all the best Colin
Can I ask about your Speyco? Which model do you have? I have a 13' 7/8 that I'm considering the Skagit model for, but it seems it might be a bit heavy. What do you think?
The reel in the video is a 3 3/4 Switch for my 12.5' 6wt rod. You might consider looking at a Skandi... Best advise I can pass along would be calling Tim (owner) at Speyco and giving him your specifications on the rod. He will match a reel to your rod based upon weight and your wishes. Awesome company to do business with!
The traffic noise is so relaxing, lol!
Enjoyed the video! Thanks for posting.
excellent example of how to fish a run. Nice work.
SWEET Video....cheers from a fellow Spey - swinger from the Upper Rouge - Denmon / TouVelle area :)
Love the voice over!
Awesome informative video. Just got my first fly rod and can’t wait to break it in!
