I bought the Injora roller version of this rig, shocks tend to leak but have found they work well with just enough oil to lubricate them, put 2.2 alloy beadlocks on to add some weight. I used a 25kg servo but had to upgrade the plastic mount to a metal one as the original mount was flexing too much. I also used a Quicrun 1080 esc which I already had spare. Great little crawler if you don't mind spending a few quid on it. Great video, Cheers
Considering that this is just a £150 RTR crawler Phil, this shows promise. A better servo should make a world of difference,as well as weighting the wheels.

Ive gone with 2.2 Beadlocks to add weight and you definitely have to upgrade the front cvd and rear axels with scx10 ii heavy duty ones - 6.99€ on A express (stock ones blew out in 10minutes after installing beadlocks 😂). I've been considering this for a while now, but the injora one. Exactly the same, as far as I can tell. They're pretty damn cheap if you get them as a kit.
The same here. But don't know if the costs of a cheap esc, transmitter and servo outweigh the cost of buying a rtr version and just upgrading the servo and servo mount.

Having owned an R1, that looks like it handles about the same as the stock Gmade. I had to put some serious work into getting the suspension to flex freely, dropping it way down and putting high clearance links in it to keep some ground clearance. It then handles really well, partly because of the weight, which as you say, is an issue with this. Some weights in the tyres, and an upgraded servo would help, but what's the spares situation like for it? That's an awesome test ground for the crawlers. A little bit of everything. 👍🏻😉
@@TomleyRC the Gmade has a lot more too it, but looks wise, they're similar. The Gmade cage is all separate pieces with the body panels screwed to it, and appears to be much heavier. The tyres look bigger as well. 👍🏻
I've got off the grade r1 replicas bought it with no electronics, just swapped the motor out, got a esc and receiver, and some kings shocks, was a bit worries if something broke tho and not being able to get new parts but found out they run scx10 diffs and gearbox in them so was happy. Only thing I don't like is I can't get it to flex freely with 100mm kings shocks the chassi doesn't really twist to suit the flex

You cN buy the chassis alone for 30 USD . Nylon blend of some sort . Its actually not terrible for a scratch build or just a demo or product testing chassis. It is how ever not nearly the same as the gmade.
Definitely not bad for the basic price, it provides a decent starting point but I’m not sold on it. J’s been looking at it but like you said I think it’s too similar to the Capra in the sense that it doesn’t have a place in our fleet. Definitely seen worse though👀
