Giants were in no position to pay a 27-year-old RB that amount of guaranteed. Schoen trades an overpaid Leonard Williams for a 2nd and 5th. Then he flips that around to get a monster edge rusher. Dex, Thibs, and Burns going to give coordinators nightmares. Not to mention Schoen picked up important pieces on the oline and signs a bargain RB in Singletary. Now go out and draft Nabers to give us a true no. 1 wideout. Our GM is working magic right now and people are crying over Barkley 😂

I think they did ok today. Two Olinemen, a RB, and Burns for pass rush. I still expect them to sign a vet corner and QB. Maybe they can look at Chase Young for more pass rush depth.
I want to make a longer post, even though nobody will care. I’m 35 so I’ve been a Giants fan for a bit. The New York Giants are no longer flagship franchise in the NFL. They haven’t done anything right the last 10 years. I understand that Barkley is a running back he’s older he’s been injured. He’s still a top 10 back in my opinion. The GM doesn’t know they’re losing a lot and he goes to Philadelphia. did they do a great job with the Burns and signing some lineman? Yeah absolutely but they screwed up. It’s just so frustrating they never keep anybody.

Let’s be clear the giants biggest mistake was getting rid of OBJ. Why? Because when OBJ was in NY that meant Barkley did not have to do all of the heavy lifting. But once he was gone he carried the full load which maximized his chances of getting hurt which is what ended up happening. Giants are trying to make it seem like he was on the decline but that’s all bs. He can still get at least 70 yards plus per game. Now giants back to being a lottery team

The salary cap going up doesn’t mean anything. Every other FA that the Giants want just had their price tag go up. Especially Oline which so many teams are going to try to spend on further inflating their cost. It’s either Saqoun or a Good Olinemen. We have to fill other holes before you say why not both.

If any new RBS develop under Saquon they’ll have the confidence going forward knowing a senior OG Giant has their back. New one will most likely crumble under the pressure esp without a line/qb. How is anyone supposed to run when there are 3dbs in the backfield by the time you take the handoff? Not a huge mistake if they reallocate the $ to the Oline. What have we won since Barkley has been here? Nothing. Not his fault but a big $ RB and a big $ safety are luxuries, not how you build a team. Spend your $ in trenches and edge rush is a good start to rebuild the roster to a winning roster.

The Eagles grossly overpaid Saquon and will come to regret it. I wanted Saquon back, but he is not worth more than $10M/yr at this point. He’s lost a step, not nearly as explosive, misses a lot of games, and he’s diminished as a receiver. Everybody tries to comp him to McCaffrey, he’s not close to CM as a receiver. The unexpected and overachieving playoff run in 2022 extended this rebuild and forced Schoen to hold off on a complete rebuild. It is time for a new direction.

In a league full of real elite quarterbacks how the hell do you offer a $160 million dollar contract to Mr. Mediocre Daniel Jones?? And then to franchise tag a quarterback that should have been locked in immediately for multiple years. At $10 or $11 million it would have been a based on his average annual numbers alone.
Coach Daboll has already lost his shine and now we're going to see what this GM does in this very important draft. As far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out on these Buffalo Bill guys.
