After a certain point an LS swap makes financial sense. Building a high hp short deck ford becomes an equivalent cost to a swap once you go beyond a basic top end or turbo kit. Couple that with the cost of a trans swap T-5s kinda suck and it all makes sense.

The scream after finding out there's understeer and oversteer was hilarious. Awesome car build. LS swapped Fox Box should've been a more common thing despite the brand conflict. Thanks Dave.
Okay okay okay, hold up. I'm going to stop you at 1:40. Coyotes are not BIIIIG motors compared to the LS1. The coyote weighs 444 lbs and a gen 2 which is what I have makes 435hp crank...your LS1 weighs 430 lbs and makes 345 crank. The gen 3 coyote makes 460hp. I think 15 pounds is acceptable for 115hp extra and a 7500 rpm redline. This swap is better over the old 5.0 but don't go thinking it's better than a coyote. The facts speak for themselves. The difference is a coyote costs $10k and you can get an LS1 for under a grand.
Lol, this is an LS1 from 1998, there's lots of engines that make more power if you are willing to spend more. You could go LS3, which is down to 418 lbs and makes 430 crank if you get it out of a vette or camaro. Or for the same price as a Gen 3 Coyote crate engine you can get an LS3 crate engine with 525 crank.
I think he’s speaking in terms on actual physical space the engine takes up Ls motors are more compact because it’s a single in block cam so that makes the heads smaller. Vs coyote with quad cam and a lot bigger heads, just food for thought
It's the actual physical size of the coyote that keeps it from being swapped into most cars. The coyote is wider and taller than a LS. Plus you can literally spend 1k and make 430hp at the wheels with a ls1 na. 300 bucks you can make 380ish with just a cam. They are good engines just a little overused like most 90-2000s engines.
The IRS is great for grip driving. You can use it for drifting but without poly or delrin bushings, there is too much deformation or compliance with the suspension and the car becomes very unpredictable. Nice driving sir. This video was great! Thanks for sharing! Love the channel.
