Gotta say the kids will probably grow up, head off on their own adventures (overseas or otherwise) but ultimately end up back in the wider Malborough district because they realize its one of the most unique and beautiful places on earth that very few have the privilage to reside in
Cute doggie stowaway, cute little boy, a man's man. Not a superhero or martial arts expert (I suppose) but rather a Super Dad a coveted title few earn today. Bravo Marty!
If anywhere is the land of milk and honey it's New Zealand - fishing, mussels, oysters, for the taking. Just about anything from a temperate climate will grow there. And the people are pretty genuine. There's a reason they call it God's own (Godzone), which is ironic because Kiwis as a group aren't particularly religious.
I sit here near tears as I watch a man of skills, wisdom and love for his family. He is so wise and skilled he can do almost anything but has a street smart common sense that is so missing today. Thank you Marty you are warming hearts all over the world as you glide across the waves in a boat that would likely have been junk if you had not intervened. Thank you this is what family values and home is supposed to look like! From Alabama USA we love you and your sweet family. And Target dog too...
I'm in my 50's now... but I still have vivid memories of my own Dad taking me fishing (mainly for Salmon and Kahawai at the mouth of the Waimakariri River near Christchurch, but occasionally with others in a similar boat). I treasure those memories as I am sure your kids will too as they get older!
I am 61 years old Korean You look young, but you have great skills. I'm so jealous. And the son who looks smart is so cute. I hope it's always a fun time.
Class video Marty. This should be shown in schools to show kids that this is actually real life experience. Your son is happy throughout the video and he hasn't any game console. You are an inspiration. God bless.
Possibly the most heartwarming video to date on RUclips….Father & son, plus man’s best friend just doing what boys do….a mini adventure…..love it, Thankyou Marty 👍👌🇮🇲❤️
These two videos are a visual description of a man's pure bliss and happiness! A basic boat restoration completed shortly with minimum tools and cost - takind the boat fishing and camping with your kid - eating what you cought in a bbq - a lovely dog always around in your legs - enjoying nature at its best all around = A grown man's PLAYGROUND PARADISE!
Being out in a boat with my brother when I was a kid made some of my most beautiful memories. My only concern was to be back in time to play baseball. Looked like the dog kept asking if you were there yet. It's hard to believe those are your kids. I bet there are 100,000 people here that want to come down and live with you guys. Thanks again for the videos!
@@billsmith5166 Bill, good to hear from you. The 490 K reference refers to everyone who has subscribed to Marty’s RUclips channel. Have a great day. Paul,
His kids are probably happy and are enjoying their childhood, but it'll be when they're much older and speak to others about their childhoods when they realize how amazing their dad was and how fortunate they were.
Hi Marty , taking your son fishing you have given him a gift for life. My dad took me fishing, and now I take my son fishing. Thank you for the great videos.
Mr. Marty T, I’m a few years older than you but I appreciated this whole 2 videos on the boat and especially the cooking campfire and mussels, oysters and marshmallows. My dad had a boat when I was 5 and the only thing I remember was his bad seamanship and putting a hole in it and beaching it in foul weather. He sold it right after. So no fun times on the boat. I did get that back years later as a preteen with the family that would come up in summer and they were great friends if only for the summer. Boating, fishing, and mini bike riding and fireworks. The illegal kind!! Great times. Thanks for being an internet surrogate dad.
I can't tell you how much me and the boys from work love this channel. We're always asking each other have you seen the new Marty T video. One thing I think would make a great video is a background video on yourself. Eg what is your trade/training because you seem to know a lot about everything. I think many viewers of this channel would love a full on background video. Keep it up mate, we love it from Sydney.
Marty, giving that child those fantastic memories, eating fresh food from the pan, exploring the ocean and the wilderness! What a gift, to him and us! Thank you, I love your restoration videos.
So beyond the best video you have ever posted. So wholesome and heartwarming. A man and his son. And dog. Absolutely beautiful, Marty. I LOVE IT!! I clearly knew, like everyone, that the boat would run perfectly!! Damn good!! 💯💯❤️
You spoil us Marty. You absolutely spoil us with tradesman work on repairs & restoration. Then you take us on an outing that many would pay thousands for. If that’s not enough, you cap it off with your parenting skills and amazing camerawork and production. I’m just dumbfounded at your abilities. 👌👌👌❤
That was so neat. Restoring the boat , motor ,and trailer. Some fishing with your boy and dog. And a cookout on the beach. What could be better? Nice video.
My goodness Marty, I don't have words. I'm going to keep it very simple - you live in Paradise - the Garden of Eden. You and the Misses have grown a family that is second to none - including your delightful dog. Bravo! ♥

Excellent Dad and mechanic. You rock Marty. Had one Uncle who took me beering. Seriously , never fished but we drank beer every time. lol Had another that taught me to crab. Rice paddy style. Second time out he let me sell my own catch. Made $260 in one day. Beautiful blue crab. Good man, Teddy Seguin. That was 54 yrs. ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. Didn't camp, too many snakes and mosquitoes in Louisiana back then. lol My aunt drew that line. Learned how to swim by getting thrown into Bedico Creek. Great son you got there. He'll grow up to be a good man because of his Dad.
I absolutely totally love your videos with you and your son my Lord. It brings back so many memories. Good memories of when I was a kid. Thank you for making an old man smile
What a bargain! Money well spent that's for sure! It was great to see you score this little beauty and turn her into a memory making machine for you and your boy! He's a lucky lad with a great dad! What a beautiful place to use the boat. Plenty of future adventures ahead for you guys, well done!
What a joyful 2 part video ... great job on the refurb. So cool making memories with your Son ... one day soon, he'll be able to look back and smile. Small suggestion on the Mussels ... soak them with a mix of salt and milk (UHT is fine) and drain after 30 minutes ... they can't digest lactose and expunge themselves leaving their digestive system "clean" and resulting in a nice, plump rose colored (coloured) mussel; a trick I learned from the Belgians/Dutch while living there. And another from my Texan childhood in Boy Scouts ... coat the pots/pans with a light coat of dish soap and the bottoms will clean up with ease.
What an amazing adventure. Epic parenting to follow up the usual excellent fixing. Even the dog looked like she was nodding off in the boat. And all that in a beautiful part of the world. Congrats from the other side of the world for being an excellent bloke 👏👏👏
Breathtaking scenery, dad, boy, dog, cooking fresh fish, mussels and oysters on an open fire on the beach. Idyllic, thanks for taking us along.👍🏼🎣😋🤗. ☮️

A great video to watch this Father’s Day weekend. Great job, Marty. I really enjoyed seeing you and your son spend some time together. You’ve inspired me to get my old jon boat ready for the small lakes and ponds here in North Texas so I can take my own kids with me. Cheers and thank you my friend!
A great find and great job! I hope you and your son have many years of great memories together with it, it’s some of the best memories I have with my dad here in Texas.
That’s some beautiful water and scenery!! Most all of our lakes are mostly cloudy water due to muddy bottoms here in Alabama USA. Great little lightweight boat you have now. You did a great job fixing it up 👍🇺🇸
Dear Marty T. 👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! Sir, you are living in a paradise! Additionally you have made and make it even better for your lovely family. Great scenery, boat went well, noticed the backup motor. Great times with your boy, he'll remember for ever
