Can you add Elder Holland’s joke about the Roman soldiers wishing they had been assigned kitchen duty the night they went to arrest the Saviour in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Sorry you did great I have just enjoyed a few others, another the AI impersonation was a good one of Gerrit W. Gong also. Thanks for the reply, glad you didn’t think I was rude butting in.
Wilcox gave a talk at my FSY session this past summer, and told us then that he was assigned a talk for this general conference, so I was waiting for his talk eagerly, and it did not disappoint!
Brad Wilcox had the best I had ever heard😅👍Such a great speaker as they all were😇 I did some research on Mary, the one Eyring spoke of and indeed she was a valiant women but suffered much heartache after she joined the church as did so many women for probably obvious reasons. The men back then were shameful. That was one Era captain Moroni needed to level to the ground. Just sayin🙈
Thank you for this. It’s great. I especially chuckled at the one about folding our arms during prayer. I really feel that there’s too much emphasis in the church on folding our arms during prayer & I actually refuse to do it. (Yes, I’m being a rebel. 😀)
Thank you very grateful for the jokes you did post, just thinking of a few that made me laugh, maybe someone else has a joke that made them laugh. You posted Elder Buckner about the friend zone, he later in that talk said his father often reminded him that simply sitting in a pew each Sunday doesn’t make you a good Christian anymore more than sleeping in a garage makes you a good car. Anyone else got something that made them laugh.😊
It’s interesting how General Conference highlights moments that make people laugh or feel inspired, but when we consider the gravity of eternal truth, we need to ask ourselves if we're focusing on the right things. Scripture, whether it’s from the Bible, the Torah, or even ancient documents like the Dead Sea Scrolls, always centers on God's holiness, justice, and love. For example, in Isaiah 55:11, the Lord says, 'My word... shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please.' God’s Word is always purposeful, never trivial. In the New Testament, 2 Timothy 4:2-4 reminds us to preach the Word 'in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.' It warns against turning to fables and 'teachers to suit their own desires' rather than staying true to sound doctrine. This applies today: are we drawn to God’s serious call to repentance and salvation, or are we entertained by fleeting humor that distracts from the Gospel's weight? Furthermore, the Torah teaches us the importance of reverence. In Leviticus 10:3, God says, 'I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified.' Worship is sacred and serious, not a place for amusement. Let's stay focused on what really matters: Jesus Christ and His message of salvation, as presented clearly in the Bible and in the teachings passed down through centuries, without distraction.
Thank you for watching to the end! We felt that calling it “a video” really didn’t give justice to what we’re bringing to life. This will be anthemic, cinematic, and most importantly-rooted in the Lord’s inspired playbook. This is the greatest cause, the greatest challenge, and the greatest work on Earth today. And it deserves elevated content to support such a cause.
Love our Church!!!
Me too!
