I think Lars is getting way too much hate in these comments. He seems genuinely friendly and interested in what Les is saying, and the moment when he retells how Les complimented his drumming is truly heartwarming, and you can tell that that really affected Lars.
20:30 there is an album that a japanese musician did that used audioclips from this book throughout the songs and it an amazing album im just amazed he mentions this and how its something im aware has been done
LARS! LISTEN! TRY TO GET NEIL PEART!!!! I DONT KNOW WHY IM YELLING BUT SERIOUSLY THAT WOULD BE THE MOST AMAZING CONVERSATION! Ok whew sorry but the idea popped into my head and god damn I would be glued to that if it happened
An amazing, incredible artist. I thought Lars would chime in with a story about Bernie, or any comment. But, nothing. Would find it hard to believe he doesn't know who Bernie Worrell is at all. He tends to have something to say about a wide range of topics. All the time. For Bernie, not a peep. 🤔
also I wonder if claypool knows that someone had made a record based around rainbow goblins around the time when he started primus. Japanese guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka to be specific.
26:11 idk why but this part cracks me up so bad
“I’m the guy in the beginning of ‘South Park’!”
“SOUTH PA- -*bangbangbang*”
I could listen to these guys talk all day.

I never learned so much about Lars Ulrich than in this Les Claypool interview.
man thats on point
Its actually pretty funny how Les turned the interview on its head
"Hammet was like a fillippino tommy chong..." Jaja, Claypool is so funny.
Claypool's imitation of Brain's voice is hilarious
As well as Brain's imitation of Les's.
That was a lot of fun. They went all over the map in that conversation.
Friend of all creatures 😃
The that he says it, hahahahah

Went to a show they did in Avila Beach Ca supporting this tour. Best concert I've ever been too. Primus is incredible live!! A must see!!
Awesome interview. I wish there had been more discussion about the new album but… Fantastic job Lars!
Love this chat! Both guys are grand and unique! Xx

RIP Bernie Worrell

One of the coolest things about Brain is when he bought a crappy drumset.
how many times do we have to hear Lars' tennis history?
serigraph73 I think at least another 7 times too meet quota
Les brought it up
As many times as you listen to it, stupid.
"never refer to yourself in the 3rd person" and then IMMEDIATELY in the next sentence refers to himself in 3rd person LMAO
Tim "herb" alexander is an amazing unique drummer. No disrespect to the other drummer of primus
I mean Jay Lane is great, but Tim is an absolute beast.
There have been like *10* "drummers" for primus _officially._ just fyi 😄
*edit:* one was a drum machine 😋
Interesting, Bernie lived in Bellingham after he was diagnosed. Tim Alexander lives there too.
why there is no video for this!
God, I love Les!!!!!!
Les was and is way to good for this garage band
I LOVE LES AND LARS.

Hey Claypool, that made me laugh.
Les talks almost exactly like the way he sings \,,/
Nope, yer reachin’...
@@joeldukes303 ...we're they tho? 😏😋
@@seriousbismuth2173 No, we are not they, Sir Serious. I’m a dude , yer a chick. Move on…
He basically tells stories so.
That was one of the first jokes I heard as a musician was the bad signs when the drumming stops
Les was a carpenter....jez..!
Geir From_Norway jesus man

"The Scheme" from the album The Desaturating Seven (by Primus if that has to be said), hope I'm not too late lol

Episode 22??? Where’s the rest
Ira Electric
Thank god Les didn't got the job for bass player for Metallica. It would've pushed his own creativity down.
Beats by Dre! Great episode, but "bleeping"??? C'MON now! ....ya tellin me that Dr. Dre---Music ICON- can't handle cussing? #CorpoBullshit
Beats are owned by Apple
Man I want to like current era Lars. But hearing his voice is almost like PTSD. I cant help but hate him. lmffao
PRIMUS SUCKS
Lars sounds exactly like Henry Rollins
Damn Les sounds exactly like Morgan Freeman!
No he doesn’t
No he dosen't!!!! LOL He sounds nothing like him!
bullshit! lars sounds like michael jackson.. y'all smoking crack!..
Marcelo Lima I don’t think les sounds like anybody
