I just hate the way Frank looks and sounds. They needed TJ to come back at least. The fact they put the 2006 version of Frank’s costume and look behind a Pre Order bonus you cannot buy right now, AND it shows up ingame as an option that’s greyed out, is very indicative of Capcom. Apparently you level up WAY too fast in this remake too.
Been playing the original Dead Rising for years on and off. I remember first playing in 2006 when I was 6 with my dad and we struggled trying to figure out what we were supposed to do with Jeff and Natalie haha.. but this being Remastered is so surreal. Dead Rising is probably the game I play the most til this day . What the original team that worked on it captured will never be recaptured again. The original is by far a masterpiece and is probably my favorite single player experience. Happy this is out and one of my favorite franchises is getting its shine . Gone Guru kills
*Yep! Dead Rising was literally the first game I got for my 360 back in the day & this "remaster" is terrible by most reviews, they changed dialogue, changed the race of one of the villains so as not to offend todays weaklings. But most of all they have cut down on zombies on screen which is ridiculous, what are we in now the 9th Generation of consoles? Forgive me I haven't purchased a games console since 2015.*
Nice intro. Main thing that worries me is how scuffed the lighting looks in the RE Engine. Looks like everyone has grey hair and the colours look washed out.
It's a bit hit or miss. It seems like the afternoon hours of the game are a bit washed out, but then out of nowhere morning and evening is absolutely gorgeous.
Remember y'all. Despite all the drama. All the disparity in the fanbase for the last 2 or more months to the lead up of this games release. None of that matters. If you love Dead Rising. Enjoy Dead Rising. If your gonna play DRDR. Hop on the game when it's out. And Enjoy! Have fun. That's what it's there for. I hope you all have an amazing time with this masterpiece all over again!
Exactly I knew what I was doing when I bought the game I knew all the pros and cons and now I’m just gonna play the hell out of it and enjoy it for as long as possible
Well yeah, although yesterday in a JP video they said they would love to have the OG voices but couldn’t because of some supposedly rights issue. As it was 18 years later it those rights expired. No idea what they were talking about, but since they couldn’t get everyone they instead started from zero and gave voices to everyone.
@@فارس-س3ظ pretty sure that was because of how uncanny all the characters look and just the “oldness” of the game, since they where actually face scans of people and since the lighting and graphics of the game where shit, of course the psychopaths are gonna look more creepy, but since the remaster actually looks somewhat “real” it looks less scary
I loved the fast-forwarding feature. I never used it on 72 hour and overtime, but I always used it for infinity mode. It made the 7 day survivor challenge actually sensible instead of having to survive without your console turning off in 14 hours
@@Bwethhh Firstly you don't have to call him stupid for disagreeing with STiP0. Secondly if the game is easier for "casuals" its also easier for "veterans" - everybody is playing the same game there is no secret mode for "veterans" where the game plays less smoothly than the normal mode for "casuals". You don't think some "veterans" would have preferred the old difficulty or do you not think it's okay that some people wanted or expected that? Lastly, you take the most charitable interpretation of that line while at the same time immediately assuming this dude is being disingenuous. Have you ever considered maybe it's just a poor choice of words that is easily misinterpreted if STiP0 meant something else?
@@biodigitaljazz_ I only called them stupid because it came off so arrogantly. It’s like if you said “I have a hard time tying my shoes” then your friend goes “well it’s never hard for me” doesn’t that feel like such a pissbaby way to say something. Stipo literally clarified himself less than 30 seconds later in the video.
This game reminds me of Conker live and reloaded when it comes to remakes/remasters. Yes, the graphics and the gameplay might be "better" but it loses the charm that the original game has so I won't be getting this game at launch or full price until a deep deep sale.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I kind of preferred the gameplay changes and new event types in CTYD over the OG. Especially in the last boss fight.
*This game was on my Wishlist for MONTHS on Steam before release. Then I happened upon an article with the devs when they stated the game was remade with "Modern Audiences" (Perpetually Offended dweebs) in mind & that was that, first game I removed from my Wishlist, God bless who ever wrote that article they saved me 39.99 & looking at the sales numbers & concurrent player count on Steam itself the games a flop. Its what happens when you cater to "modern audiences"*
I am noticing how a bunch of comments I replied to are no longer here. Comical irony really, they were complaining about censorship and then got censored by the uploader!
Imagine thinking Stip0 cares enough to remove your comments and not your hate speech that RUclips removed itself. 9/10 the uploader doesn’t remove anything. You’re just telling on yourself that you crossed RUclips’s guidelines.
@@kevinbaker4377You don't need to say much to get censored these days. if you think that he said anything which could be considered hate speech because he wants the game in it's original form then your part of the problem and a snow flake
@@kevinbaker4377”hate speech” oh please lol. Disliking censorship is not hate speech. RUclips also has trigger words and auto-removes comments with certain phrases as soon as they’re posted.
Personally I feel calling it a chore to play and that it was designed by aliens is a bit much, we can acknowledge that the original game is rough but we don't have to completely denounced the original or the efforts of those who worked on it compared to the remake. The reality of it is it's a 360 game from 2006 that was released only a year after the launch. There are certainly baffling choices regarding its design, but I also don't think hyping up the modernizations as things that make the game significantly better is necessary. The fact of the matter is it doesn't make the game better, it just makes it more catering to a modern audience and that's fine. Either version of the game is still fun, the remake will be able to allow people with less patience to deal with the older version to get through it. Personally though as a critique I do wish Capcom actually put better effort into the voice direction, I don't outright hate any of the recasting even if I would have preferred having the original voices (even as just an option) but legitimately I do not think any of the new performances are that good. And I blame Capcom over this instead of just the voice actors themselves, at best I can just say they're fine but they're still not holding a candle to most of the 2006 voice cast.
Yes because in 2006, you bought DR for the voice cast. It didn't just grow familiar over time as DRDR might. Also how is improving the game catering to modern audiences?
Since RUclips won't allow me to reply individually for some reason I'll give my response to each reply in one summary. 1. No, my point wasn't that I bought the game for a voice cast, but my point is that when it comes to Frank TJ has been the voice for the best depictions of the character both in and out of the main series. So the idea capcom had to recast him at all and it wasn't a shitty choice is a bit ridiculous. And my point was that the voice acting in the 2006 game was overall better, so sorry waffle you didn't actually address my point at all and just spun it around to more easily knock down. Also in terms of "improving the game" the two biggest changes beyond other modern quality of life things are just being able to move while shooting and autosaves. Both of which again are NOT things that were standard or expected in 2006/older games and are purely things capcom put in to make the experience easier for newer players. 2. Yes Lean, the game is definitely challenging, but it's also worth noting if you were playing it as a kid you were already going to be struggling with it harder than an adult who had been playing capcom games, or games as a whole, for much longer. Given the game is rated m for mature I feel the difficulty was manageable for the intended player base. 3. Burnham, I have absolutely no idea why you felt the need to get so aggressive over my opinion on a remake of this game and how people choose to talk about/represent the original by comparison. The fact of the matter is if the original game was ACTUALLY a chore to play then it wouldn't have a fanbase. The game was FUN if a bit challenging and aged in terms of lacking accessibility, but that's not uncommon for old games and is in fact the reality of going further and further back. Older games are harder than newer games, and any changes or additions for a more manageable difficulty are just things for newer audiences or people who simply felt the game was too hard for them before. Acting like they inherently make the game more "fun" when it just broadens accessibility is ridiculous. I'm not saying any of these changes or additions are bad or hurt the original gameplay. But I AM saying the game is FUN because the original was FUN and if you liked anything in this game, it's the case that it's taken from the original. And anything specific to this remake is either additions or changes to a fun core game that has existed since 2006. Anyway I already expected to be in the minority on this stance, the least the rest of you can do is keep it civil when all I did was offer my feedback. Have fun with the remake, try not to form YOUR OWN high horses when discussing it and risking being hypocritical.
The 2016 remaster still remains the better version no og fan should buy this unless it's on sale for at least 50% off it doesn't deserve the full price
You're better off just playing the 2016 version. It's the same exact game save for pwetty gwafics and miniscule quality of life changes. But add in some extra unnecessary censorship and completely different voice actors. DRDR isn't even worth $20 in my opinion.
Just finished my first playthrough(definitely going for all achievements) and loved it! It's the perfect combination of a modern coat of paint and features while retaining the charm of the old! You better be planning some crazy content for this game!
The one thing I have a problem with is the redesign of Frank. They literally aged him up, I don’t think they understand that Frank look is important to his character especially during that time, Frank is literally a linebacker who decided to be a journalist. He probably got injured or something couldn’t play anymore and went into journalism that’s the feeling I got when I originally played the game, back in the day dead rising was my first game on Xbox 360. It holds a very special place in my heart and so does Frank and I just don’t like how Japanese developers treat voice actors and their characters, especially when people remake things Frank was special because he was the type of guy that you would not expect to be a journalist just by looking at him. You can tell it wasn’t his original life pass, but it was what he was meant to do, the developers just don’t get that now he looks like he doesn’t dead rising too, which made sense because he was pretty much washed up and it was shocking to see him that way considering he was actually a good looking guy in the first game. It gave us the feeling of how the mighty have fallen but this game comes straight out the gate making Frank look like a Slobb in his late 50s Frank was literally in his late 30s early 40s so it’s kind of messed up how they did that to him, without understanding why the character look the way he does, and how his look impacted the game
@@GoldCrotalus not really my source is the game itself do you honestly think a normal journalist can tackle zombies like that what I’m saying is a character needs to have a story that can be told just by looking at that character. He’s in every man and if you look at him, and what he can do, clearly journalism was not his first profession.
@@agentb1ack01 Frank's moveset is irrelevant. The moves are strictly gameplay mechanics. There's no confirmation in ANY of the games that Frank was a linebacker.

Crazy to me how many people are just flat ignoring it for the most part. if I ever got my hands on the game my review would be honest. Not biased. Alot people just in the honeymoon phase. But also mind your business you know? Don't worry about me lol
@@Resignedbc27 ah I see we’ll in that case I was just wondering since I’ve seen people just comment on everything that had to do with the game but nothing to do with what’s being discussed so I’m just curious why people do that, but in the end I’m just in it for the zombie killing and nothing more so have a good day and stay safe.
The zombie count is the same as the original. The density isn't at its peak until day 3 though, also the PC version can change the zombie count to exceed the original.
I never got to play this game since i didn't have the consoles it was on, but now that i own a PC, I honestly want to get both the OG remaster and this remake. Edit: I now own both the OG game and the Deluxe Remaster. I also have a feeling someone is going to mod in better lighting but it really sucks that, that shouldn't be the case to begin with.
Looks like this version took inspiration from the wii version with Brock’s bossfight by adding more action and the disembowel at the end, that’s funny.
I was pretty shocked in the first couple hours that it felt so familiar to the game I'd already played so many times before. I almost got bored because it felt so familiar and I had just recently replayed the 2016 port that it didnt feel much like I was playing something new lol. For a ground-up remake in a new engine almost 20 years later, that's impressive. Yet as I've kept playing, I keep noticing new little things that surprise me and keep me going. I believe capcom made this just so they could get their feet wet with developing Dead Rising in the RE Engine, and the quality of this remake gives me renewed hope for a Dead Rising 5
Pros - Gameplay feels as good as ever - Nice Graphics Upgrade - Runs Well - Quality of life changes - New outfit system - OG Frank Model Cons - Frank's new character model and voice actor - The new voice acting is a straight up downgrade (Frank and Brad ugh) I tried to give them a chance. - Kind of buggy actually, the zombie ai seems straight up worse than the original. They failed to kill some of the survivors in the intro part - Dialogue changers to the story which didn't need changing and is a talking point but not a deal breaker for me but still stupid - Pop in and lighting issues Final verdict - 7/10 (Good, could have been a 10 with og character aesthetics and voice acting, and less buggy zombie ai, but when I can't enjoy the story as much I'm really only left with the gameplay) Conclusion - For me I found myself skipping the new shiny cutscenes because they just aren't as engaging or charismatic as the original. The fun to be had is in the gameplay. Skip the cutscenes and enjoy the gameplay is my advice.
I will completely disagree on franks design and the voice over I think it's all fine and I enjoy franks new look, it really helps me adjust to his new VA
@@cultofthemothmani give franks new va props because i can tell he tries, maybe its just nostalgia but the og its just so much better, its not his fault imo, Brads va tho sometimes sounds like he doesnt even try lol, thats a downgrade
I’m 100% on bored with you here. I only got the game for the gameplay really, nothing else. I don’t think the game is worth £50 for me. More like £30 Also, with the gameplay I don’t like how the blood is here. I mean it looks good in that gooey sort of look for the zombies but it seems toned down? And no blood on Frank is annoying, you get some on Frank but barely. There is a lot of odd choices here so yeah 7/10 for me as well, especially since the story here is a downgrade from the original. They fucked it up but I do love some of the character models, especially Isabella and Jessie. Hot af lol. I just mainly got the game for the Mall, the graphics, the zombies and the overall gameplay but that’s it, really I do expect more since it’s full priced. It’s a straight up remake and not remaster. A lot of changes here which make it a entirely new game.
Anyone been experiencing any bugs or glitches? My game will sometimes go single digit fps, zombies become invulnerable, crashes, and the maintenance tunnels dont spawn zombies correctly at all, etc. Im playing on ps5 and these bugs are pretty constant near the end of the game and playthrough 2.
You know? The new Voice Actor Jas Patrick, sure he is not TJ Rotolo, but he's still pretty good! I was very upset with the change at first, but give him a chance, he does a great job and you get used to him pretty fast!
Finished the game and saved everyone for Saint trophy. The survivor AI is a lot better, they almost never get stuck at zombies unlike in the original. The overall game seems a lot easier. The only difficult thing now are the special forces. They stun you and quickly destroy your HP with their machine guns, really they are no joke. Good thing they still quickly die to Adam's little chainsaws.

No TJ. Colors look washed out. Yellow paint. Changed dialogue. Changed photography points system. Pop in issues. Zombies clip through cars. Why would anyone want this when the original is superior?
The original was an innovative masterpiece. The remake is like a crappy cover band with new shiny synthesizers. I’ll take the original, grit and all. Also, it’s come to my attention that the remake doesn’t even have reflections in mirrors and less zombies on screen. They expect people to pay MORE for less? Lame, dude.
Sad to say but the more I see of the actual gameplay the worse I think it looks compared to the original. Things like the blood taking time to fall before splattering on the ground and the crazy amount of blood when headshotting something are little touches lost in the remake Update: After playing for a bit I still sadly feel this way. Not bad, but honestly unless a good amount of mods fix this game up I'm just going to stick with the original.
I’m running into some pretty serious bugs and glitches that can take you out the experience. The old games bugs would sometimes enhanced the game for some reason. There will be groups of zombies bunched together and you can’t knock them down or kill them. Zombies walking through walls. The way zombies grab you feels kinda cheap compared to the old.

Edited through video editing software. I've seen a lot of people play this game by now and none of them had it looking like this, in this video the tinkering is not as obvious he probably held back a bit after people called him out on his previous video (that one was REALLY obviously edited)
Too many things about how this game's changes been revealed/presented, whether it be censorship or the rough voice acting, I'm not eager to buy this. I probably will at some point, but not until it is on sale for very dirt cheap in probably 5 years or more from now.
Oh No, you can't take creep shots of women anymore and a character doesn't say Viet Cong/Communist even though everything else is the same regarding the character, unplayable.
@@AwfulWaffle-h7c I didn't mention anything about the photography. But since you brought it up while whining like a triggered mong over a differing opinion, it's not hard to understand that's the joke. The creep factor is funny, because Frank as a character is a sleazy person. That's the joke. The Viet Cong line censorship was completely unnecessary and turns the character into a bland portrayal of a generic PTSD vet. At least don't replace the lines with ones as flavorless as "you're a mole" and "you're a filthy animal!" And no, not everything else is the same. The race swap of Larry is also weird and unnecessary. If it's not a big deal, then there was no need to single that out and change it in the first place. And one of the main things I focused on in my comment was the voice acting. I also never said the game is unplayable. Just that I don't like how its been handled. Why do people like you get bent out of shape just because someone doesn't immediately praise the thing you like? We're about to get so much more content from the prince of Dead Rising and I am so happy. I legit thought we might have seen the end of it and DR would fade away.
So excited to hop into this remaster, I’ve replayed the original an extra five times over the past month in anticipation for this release! Hope everyone else here is excited too :)
I just don’t see a reason to buy this version. The A.I. improvements are nice, that’s about it. Mirrors worked 18 years ago but not now? Pathetic. For reference, I’m a huge Capcom fan and I absolutely love RE2 remake and RE4 remake, and have loved almost every single mainline RE game. I also adore DeadRising 3 and I didn’t even *hate* DeadRising 4, I just didn’t like it. So I’m not some snob who hates anything new. There are NOTICEABLY less zombies in a game that was praised for big amounts of enemies onscreen. No blood splatter on Frank when eliminating crowds of zombies?!?! That was one of the simplest but coolest little details back in the day, and you’re telling me in 2024 we can’t afford Frank getting covered in blood? (The blood and blood physics in general look a lot worse. Clint is a good example, he looks like an action figure compared to the original Clint model just drenched in blood) The exact same 18 year old animations are used for all of the cutscenes despite the new character models, so the cutscenes look weird and cheap. In closeups, characters sometimes have really detailed new facial animations. But in wider shots, characters regularly have stiff facial expressions that feel more awkward than the original. The new voices feel detached from the characters despite having new character models. There is no longer echo when people speak (despite being in a large mall), so the audio and conversations sound awkward and off-putting. Jessie now just looks sad all the time, eyebrows always raised, and her voice acting is not very good. She’s just soft-spoken and sad looking, and not the least bit mysterious. Not only that, they made her a bimbo. Ironically she used to look like a real person but the remaster with way more detail makes her look fake. Her original look, facial expression, and voice perfectly captured her stoicism, she was obviously in over her head, but trying her hardest to act professional, and her original voice actress *NAILED* that. I feel like I could say the same about Isabella. She doesn’t actually look mysterious anymore. She looks confused and sad all the time, she doesn’t have that sense of mystery or angst she once had. Carlito is now orange. Some of the brand spanking new character models looking genuinely worse than the originals despite having objectively WAY more detail, many times because of the lighting. The new voice acting is worse across the board, sometimes just slightly worse, other times laughably awful anime-dub voice acting, some voices not even much better than MegaMan 8’s terrible voice acting (Kent, Brad, Brock….. basically any side character has a noticeably fake accent or voice. I can just picture the actor in the booth doing the performance, whereas in the original the characters looked and sounded like they should, even when the acting or dialogue was cheesy. Adam and Sean’s voice acting are good, Steven’s is pretty good but still lacks the “punch” of the original. But Brad and especially Kent’s new voice acting is horrible in the new game) So much of the charm is lost, with the colorful mall being less colorful, and the “realistic” lighting seemingly looking washed out, and making many of the characters’ hair look grey when it shouldn’t. It seems like a complete misunderstanding of the original intention of the game. I have heard survivors say “I can’t wait to post this to social media!!” multiple times. In a game that takes place in 2006. Disgusting. Bosses are neutered, not just gameplay wise, making them almost a complete non-threat, but also with the censorships to their look and dialogue. Is Gone Guru even a memorable or terrifying moment anymore? VERY noticeable clipping of character models directly on screen in major cutscenes (example: Isabella walking out of the grocery store) The smoke in the “Frog” cutscene now looks like a JPEG, it’s absolutely laughable, and the Frog cutscene is now the opening cutscene of the game in this remaster. So….. yeah There’s probably more but that’s just off the top of my head. As a giant Deadrising fan who thought the series was basically dead I was extremely excited about this remake until I actually saw (and heard) it. Now I DON’T want them to remake DeadRising 2 because I expect it to turn out like this. Randy would probably be removed from the game entirely. I don’t want to reward or encourage this type of remaster with my money, and I’d rather the series stay dormant than get these types of releases. Again: what is my motivation for buying this?

I'm still kind of skeptical honestly. I'm glad lovers of the original are more than likely going to love this game too, something is still holding me back. Maybe it's the....questionable voice acting I've heard from characters in the remake. Maybe it's the pretty ugly looking faces on characters. Maybe it's the very unnecessary dialogue changes to adapt to things that probably weren't as frowned upon in 2006. Maybe it's things like no blood on Frank when he kills a bunch of zombies or the yellow paint. Things are holding me back from pre ordering it. I'm gonna wait for a day or two to see what others think of it and if the reviews are solid, I'll likely pick it up myself.
Glad to see its still fun, been waiting years for anything to do with Dead Rising and after all the leaks glad to see they were true but I've got ask. 1:Is Adam's theme still intact? Since its the most iconic pshycopath theme in the game I hope its been preserved. 2: Did they end up actually adding the Beamgun or will it be a case of having to reskin the Megaman buster?
What you described interested me since I had the same feelings to re4 remake. this game looks cool but I already bought and played the original for the first time early this year just before the announcement of a remaster so am not as excited to play as you are and also I have concerns with the cut content like erotica and changes from the infamous sweet baby inc as this is suppose to be a 1:1 remake yet it calls itself a remaster and replaces the voices actors and and some characters like Larry. I might check it out when it goes on sale though.
@STiP0 I agree, the fact some fans are crying "woke wokey woke woke" obviously don't know how game development works, the devs and the executives have final say about what's in the product, not some imaginary snowflakes/strawmen on twitter someone made up in their head to get mad at. I would also like to see if it's possible to total the Prisoners' humvee by grinding on it with a skateboard. I was playing the game (2016 remaster) just today, and I managed to wedge a cart under Carlito's truck. Maybe there's more to that. Bike tricks, too. There's gotta be at least *some* stuff to be done with the bicycle... And while I've got your ear, I figured out (though I'm definitely not the first) that you can use wrestling moves on recruitable survivors, and they don't really get mad at you. You can even chain the push/throw attack that makes zombies/survivors run and faceplant. With this knowledge, I figured you can save time recruiting some characters. Suplex Leah out of the jewelry shop, carry Floyd over your head while he's yapping... Maybe you can even mess up the scripts, like dragging Sal out of the restaurant, or bringing that one girl *to* Jolie, instead of the opposite. Also, I managed to throw Yuu off the 2nd floor. Pretty funny.
I complete DR DR. And this sooooo awesome. When I see results screen and frank's theme, I just sit and watch. All feels will be strange. But after all, at results, I feel like, complete Dead Rising first time. And not gonna lie, I cry a little bit. That was really cool remaster. Just like in my childhood, when first game on my Xbox 360, was Dead Rising.
I get that it plays good, and looks good, but the unnecessary censorship I've been seeing and hearing about is a serious red flag for me. They ruined Cliff for example, removing any references to him being a Vietnam veteran for...some reason.
He still experiences ptsd from being in war, it allows it the game to express how all wars are bad and how traumatized they are of said war. Its not censorship
They didn't delete the originals from existence. Unnecessary censorship might be overly precautionary but it's not a condemnation of the previous material so much as adapting to current norms. I'm not happy about it either but I think if you can have fun try to have fun.
It's still censorship. They didn't remove his old lines to generalize that all wars are bad, they removed his lines because they were concerned that it would be found offensive by certain audiences and they would sell less copies. Its purely a business strategy. Does that ruin the game? No, I don't think so, but let's call it for what it is and not act as though it isn't censorship
I tried it out tonight and they are slightly nerfed. You can still stack magazines on them, but sometimes it takes 2 hits to kill a zombie instead of just 1 EDIT: I'm an idiot and forgot your attack power gets higher when you level up. The mini chainsaw is back to 1-shotting zombies now. But it's not as good at shredding psychopaths, I think they gave the bosses more invulnerability frames so it's harder to spam on them
They were nerfed, they no longer instantly kill psychopaths like they used to. Tasers on the other hand have been buffed and instantly kill bosses in seconds.
I hope so too, there's so much more they could do with the sandbox of this game and i hope they try everything they can with it. (so long as it's not ridiculously priced or a season pass or something)
As much as I want to buy this game, the censorship will make this a hard-pass for me. I know that may not be a big deal to some fans, but it’s a symptom of a much bigger problem, and buying this would only reward this sort of behavior from devs. No thanks. EDIT: Lol, I can see this is dividing fans. The reason why this is a hard pass for myself and others is because the censorship, even if small, is wrong and hypocritical. (If you care to know why, you can keep reading below.) "They race-swapped Larry to remove a racist stereotype!" - You're talking about a game (and its sequels) that routinely depict negative stereotypes of Americans, especially white Americans, a lot of which could easily be considered racist. You can't say it's ok to single out one group, but nobody else. That's hypocrisy. "They removed 'erotica shots' and censored some outfits. What's the big deal?" - Again, double standards. If you're going to argue this would glorify creepy behavior from male gamers, you're saying they can't distinguish fantasy from reality. But that's the same argument people used try to censor violent video games, and we all know that's not true. And no, I don't NEED "erotica" in my game to enjoy it, but you can't say it's wrong and get offended while ignoring everything else. Don't forget, this is a game where you can kill normal survivors, dress Frank up in humiliating outfits, get rewarded for photographing gore, and get bonus points for killing soldiers...all in a setting of extremely graphic violence. If "erotica" shots bother you but none of the other stuff does, your priorities are out of whack. "They just removed some lines about the "Viet Cong. Who cares? " - So, it's okay for the game to skewer the American government and military, but they're not allowed to offend communist China? I don't think I even need to point out the glaring silliness (and cowardice) there. "If this game doesn't do well, the whole series could be finished! Would you want that?" - To be honest, YES I would. I'd rather the franchise stay dead but remain true to its roots than to be resurrected and neutered for "modern audiences." I don't think I have to mention how many beloved geek franchises have been desecrated by corporate greed or censorship (or both). This may not seem like a big deal, but it's no secret the gaming industry has become overrun by people actively trying to censor games, shoehorn in politics, and pander to a 'select few' groups while actively antagonizing others. This is not something we should be encouraging, no matter how many shiny new things they dangle in front of our faces. If after all that you still think "I don't care, I just want to play the game and kill zombies!!", well good for you. I won't judge you, lose sleep, or be mad that you're enjoying the game, but by doing that, you're contributing to the problem. End of essay.
Glad to hear that you are enjoying it. I'll probably buy it on sale when there is a patch to get the original voices back. Did you buy the game again or did you get it for free after crying to Capcom?
I just hope they keep turning survivors into zombies. Also more hair colors. The original had dark brown, light brown, red and grey. But i would’ve like to see jet black, white, dark blonde and platinum blonde.
I hope you do some videos showcasing some of the game's new mechanics or little differences and details, love your content. (I consider you to be the king of Dead Rising lol)

Damn, they did me dirty. I look like Michael De Santa now
I miss you TJ!

If you love Dead Rising. Enjoy Dead Rising. If your gonna play DRDR. Hop on the game when it's out. And Enjoy! Have fun. That's what it's there for.
I hope you all have an amazing time with this masterpiece all over again!

Psychopaths are way less creepy. Especially the butcher guy and supermarket owner
I’m pretty sure they changed the butcher because it was actually just a super racist Chinese caricature

I loved the fast-forwarding feature. I never used it on 72 hour and overtime, but I always used it for infinity mode. It made the 7 day survivor challenge actually sensible instead of having to survive without your console turning off in 14 hours
😂 I remember playing for the whole day on the weekend for that achievement

The original was never a "chore to play" to me
Don’t be stupid. You know he means that for a casual player they won’t find the original as easy to play as someone who is a veteran.
It feels like 2006 again and I'm counting down to the original game's release. Just hope that the survivor AI is one thing that has changed.
I think a lot of people who played early said it was improved.
It has
And the dam ledge on the roof has been changed
It has
Personally I feel calling it a chore to play and that it was designed by aliens is a bit much, we can acknowledge that the original game is rough but we don't have to completely denounced the original or the efforts of those who worked on it compared to the remake.
@@friendofp.24The early 2000s gave us some strange titles. Playing DR1 as a kid felt impossible until I unlocked the blaster.
We all know the original DR *was* a chore to play, get down from ur high horse bruh lol
I agree with your comment
The 2016 remaster still remains the better version no og fan should buy this unless it's on sale for at least 50% off it doesn't deserve the full price
You're better off just playing the 2016 version. It's the same exact game save for pwetty gwafics and miniscule quality of life changes. But add in some extra unnecessary censorship and completely different voice actors. DRDR isn't even worth $20 in my opinion.
@@funnyvids44Okay.

3:25 "Peachy cake" 😂

Pros
- Gameplay feels as good as ever
- Nice Graphics Upgrade
- Runs Well
- Quality of life changes
- New outfit system
- OG Frank Model
Cons
- Frank's new character model and voice actor
- The new voice acting is a straight up downgrade (Frank and Brad ugh) I tried to give them a chance.
- Kind of buggy actually, the zombie ai seems straight up worse than the original. They failed to kill some of the survivors in the intro part
- Dialogue changers to the story which didn't need changing and is a talking point but not a deal breaker for me but still stupid
- Pop in and lighting issues
Final verdict - 7/10 (Good, could have been a 10 with og character aesthetics and voice acting, and less buggy zombie ai, but when I can't enjoy the story as much I'm really only left with the gameplay)
Conclusion - For me I found myself skipping the new shiny cutscenes because they just aren't as engaging or charismatic as the original. The fun to be had is in the gameplay. Skip the cutscenes and enjoy the gameplay is my advice.

Update: After playing for a bit I still sadly feel this way. Not bad, but honestly unless a good amount of mods fix this game up I'm just going to stick with the original.
@@UndeadPasta Honestly this looks more like a Unity game than an official remake of Dead Rising from Capcom.
I’m running into some pretty serious bugs and glitches that can take you out the experience. The old games bugs would sometimes enhanced the game for some reason. There will be groups of zombies bunched together and you can’t knock them down or kill them. Zombies walking through walls. The way zombies grab you feels kinda cheap compared to the old.
same, i have had several crashes (particularly trying to wear chainsaw man outfit), the pop in is really bad with zombies, And loading sometimes has been iffy
yeah for example trying to hit a zombie with a baseball bat is impossible without getting grabbed.
Sounds like you're being biased due to nostalgia. Why is it okay for one game to be buggy over the other? I don't think that's really fair.

Strange take since the names obstruct the health bar in the original. Makes the health bars not as useable at all glance like dr2. Dr2otr does even better with the bigger boss bars.

At least don't replace the lines with ones as flavorless as "you're a mole" and "you're a filthy animal!"
And no, not everything else is the same.
💯 Don't give your money to people that hate you.
Clint is a good example, he looks like an action figure compared to the original Clint model just drenched in blood)
The exact same 18 year old animations are used for all of the cutscenes despite the new character models, so the cutscenes look weird and cheap.
But Brad and especially Kent’s new voice acting is horrible in the new game)
So much of the charm is lost, with the colorful mall being less colorful, and the “realistic” lighting seemingly looking washed out, and making many of the characters’ hair look grey when it shouldn’t.
VERY noticeable clipping of character models directly on screen in major cutscenes (example: Isabella walking out of the grocery store)
The smoke in the “Frog” cutscene now looks like a JPEG, it’s absolutely laughable, and the Frog cutscene is now the opening cutscene of the game in this remaster. So….. yeah
There’s probably more but that’s just off the top of my head.
I have zombie density turned down, on max settings the game renders nearly double the original game in certain areas.

Love the review and can't wait to play it (pre-load finish today) :D but only one thing...the game was in talks since july 2016...people forgot about it :)) but that's the first time I heard about it.
Go play the original.

I loved this version.
the little tweaks like the stairs into the safe house are genius
Stipo how do you feel about the dialogue changes, particularly cliff?
I find such changes very unnecessary, but as they don't impact gameplay they are practically not even a talking point to me.
@STiP0 I agree, the fact some fans are crying "woke wokey woke woke" obviously don't know how game development works, the devs and the executives have final say about what's in the product, not some imaginary snowflakes/strawmen on twitter someone made up in their head to get mad at. Cause companies rarely listen to anybody unless it costs them money let alone a select few people, if that was the case they would have kept the lines in. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk
@@disturbedrenegade9815 you sound very worked up over a very civil question i asked. Never said anything about woke or anything lmao, its just pointless to change these things imo & removes from the character, i get why they would remove erotic points but it still feels like unnecessary

Have you made a video about vehicles yet?
How you can manual brake by pressing both forwards and backwards, how you can actually make survivors get in them, how weirdly they interact with shopping carts, how grinding on them with a skateboard damages them...
Can anyone confirm if they increased the amount of survivors you can escort at once??
I get that it plays good, and looks good, but the unnecessary censorship I've been seeing and hearing about is a serious red flag for me. They ruined Cliff for example, removing any references to him being a Vietnam veteran for...some reason.
How does changing one line of dialogue ruin anything
He still experiences ptsd from being in war, it allows it the game to express how all wars are bad and how traumatized they are of said war. Its not censorship
They didn't delete the originals from existence. Unnecessary censorship might be overly precautionary but it's not a condemnation of the previous material so much as adapting to current norms. I'm not happy about it either but I think if you can have fun try to have fun.
He still talks about the war in his dying breathe and Capcom even tweeted about guerilla warfare. Not like they changed his story.
It's still censorship. They didn't remove his old lines to generalize that all wars are bad, they removed his lines because they were concerned that it would be found offensive by certain audiences and they would sell less copies. Its purely a business strategy. Does that ruin the game? No, I don't think so, but let's call it for what it is and not act as though it isn't censorship
there's one thing I wonder - are the Small Chainsaws as busted as in the original?
From what I've seen, probably.
I tried it out tonight and they are slightly nerfed. You can still stack magazines on them, but sometimes it takes 2 hits to kill a zombie instead of just 1
EDIT: I'm an idiot and forgot your attack power gets higher when you level up.
Because people kept using them uploading videos and talking about it wouldn't shut up about it is why they got Nerfed.

(If you care to know why, you can keep reading below.)
"They race-swapped Larry to remove a racist stereotype!" - You're talking about a game (and its sequels) that routinely depict negative stereotypes of Americans, especially white Americans, a lot of which could easily be considered racist.
