Once I suggested a tv show with a strong rape theme to a friend and she recoiled so fast and said sternly, no I can't watch that. I knew she was a rape survivor and but in that instance, I didn't connect it at first. In all the 20 plus years she barely talks about her rape so her reaction made me feel so out of touch. I will never stop watching The Cosby Show . The show was wonderful and masterful. It was one of the first times TV portrayed black people as truly educated intelligent and successful. It was like a breath of fresh air. Claire Huxtable was the epitome of beauty and class and sass all wrapped up in a mother and wife. I will never forget how it made me feel. As for Mr Cosby the acts he was accused of were vile and horrifying and I do not condone that behavior .

I have just commented on the first part of this segment, but I am going to comment on this second one too: I feel extremely annoyed by the fact that Adrienne, Tamera and Jeannie have to tip-toe around Loni, even when they are trying to learn and form an opinion about a certain topic or issue because she simply cannot help her unnecessarily rude facial expressions and her dismissive and disrespectful interruptions. Each and every panelist has their own world view, perspectives and should able able to express them freely without having to say "in my opinion", "for me" and "personally" after every sentence because she does not know how to have mature and democratic conversation when others disagree with her stances. Still she tries to convince the audience she had nothing to do with Tamar being fired from the show. With that attitude, it is very, very hard to believe that. She clearly hates having others talk when it is not to commend her, laugh at her not-at-all funny jokes or agree with her and that is not what being "real" means. She wants to be "real", but does not allow others to be as well and, for that, I do not see why she is still an option for this panel.

I will never stop watching The Cosby Show . The show was wonderful and masterful. It was one of the first times TV portrayed black people as truly educated intelligent and successful. It was like a breath of fresh air. Claire Huxtable was the epitome of beauty and class and sass all wrapped up in a mother and wife. I will never forget how it made me feel. As for Mr Cosby the acts he was accused of were vile and horrifying and I do not condone that behavior .

Anyone can accuse you of a crime by word of mouth and see a documentary and has the support they need. Facts: They had access to cell phones, why not dial 911? He did concert tours, prime and ample opp to call 911 and get help yet they all stayed. They went to the media first but failed to go to a hospital and police first. If I am traumatized I am calling 911, Period. I'm not concocting ways to get on national T.V. How many missing person reports were done? These are questions that endangered people do and families. How many FBI reports were done back then for crossing state lines? When were Amber Alerts issued for any of these alleged victims? If this can be proved then R Kelley is a foul person and deserves life in prison but if these questions can't be answered with documented proof I say lifetime owes R Kelly an apology and shouldn't air anything without facts. After the trial yes but before no? This has tainted every juror he could potentially have. Toss the parents in cells too. Each and every panelist has their own world view, perspectives and should able able to express them freely without having to say "in my opinion", "for me" and "personally" after every sentence because she does not know how to have mature and democratic conversation when others disagree with her stances. Still she tries to convince the audience she had nothing to do with Tamar being fired from the show. With that attitude, it is very, very hard to believe that. She clearly hates having others talk when it is not to commend her, laugh at her not-at-all funny jokes or agree with her and that is not what being "real" means. She wants to be "real", but does not allow others to be as well and, for that, I do not see why she is still an option for this panel.

I only know of two R. Kelly songs "I'm Your Angel" with Celine Dion and "I Believe I Can Fly". I'm never going to stop listening to those songs nor should they be banned publicly. Especially "I'm Your Angel" because that's a slap in the face to Celine Dion.

@@lucky4evr1 There are plenty of artists that have motivational songs like Kelly Clarkson's "Invincible", Daughtry's "Backbone", Destiny's Child's "Survivor", etc. Music is about being able to relate to it, on a personal level. It shouldn't be banned, publicly, just because social construct dictates it so. You'll be fine, if it gets publicly played. Not to mention, "I Believe I Can Fly" is nostalgic for some because my memory of it links to the movie "Space Jam".

I feel like now that Amanda is in the circle - the dynamic and personalities have shifted for both Loni and Adrienne. Loni acts more rough and like a smart-ass ("let em know" comments all the time) and Adrienne speaks more hood ("yo") and doesnt stick to her own opinion if Amanda disagrees to any degree because she knows she'll lose the discussion. @star hopee for me the point is that this horrific incident not only highlighted a lack of care, sympathy and acknowledgement of what happened to this young girl but how willing we are to be complicit in the dismissal of her abuse. Many people including members of her family conspired to deny what was evident on the tape. So yes, I too question the outrage now when it was alright back then. This goes for Bill, Michael and Weinstein. I personally feel we as a community sacrificed many young girls and womens mental and physical health so we could listen to some music.
