    That is a lot cheaper than I thought. I figured about $10k completely shipped/installed. It definitely seems like one of those tools you groan about when you buy it, but after a few uses you wonder how you functioned without.

    One problem bolting to the garage floor if you live in a new house that utilizes post tension cables in the slab- you can't drill into the slab with very deep anchors without destroying your garage floor. Something to consider before installing. Nice lift. Jealous👍

    Got the same one in 220 volt, great lift, wife and I assembled it in two weekends with nothing more than a engine hoist, saved myself 1,000 bucks total cost was less than $4,000 well worth it, 65 Buick Skylark sits on top 72 Ford Maverick underneath for now with 10 foot ceiling. If you can swing it do it.

    I installed a 4 post 9000lb model from Direct Lift 4 years ago. All in, all done, delivered, set up etc cost me right at $4000.

    Good review. Lots of great info. I see folks getting the BendPack pretty often. We have three Direct Lift Pro Park8 lifts in our three car garage. The biggest car we have is a 996TT, but I've had a Cayenne and an M5 and they do fit. The Direct Lift is the one with the mechanical locks - so no air compressor. They are also 110V and were just over $3K installed. We had one hydraulic unit go out, but it was quickly replaced under warranty. You can do quite a bit of work on the lifts and I use them for all of our How Tos. So much safer than jack stands and such!

    I started with an air single cylinder underground lift 30 years ago . Always bolt any lift down. I've seen them collapse. make sure you have stops on both ends when using a 4 post lift. I have seen cars roll off the ends. I always build my shops with 14 foot ceilings, but you can get by with shorter. Just make sure you put a safety trip that will stop the upward motion at the max height. I've got an airplane hanging from my ceiling also, but not where the hoists are. There is a pic of it on my channel.

I'm going to have to think about this, I didn't realize I've got to buy a house and have a garage, to enjoy you're cool lift :-) thinking it, probably work on the beach just look for a nice solid place to erected in Baja, in the Arroyo, :-) and I don't need a manual that's for sure! Because I got a guy, named Manuel who can install it for me:-) the most important thing is that it can lift my spirits up. little humor never hurts during these troubling times! I don't even drink but I'm not going to let Corona V eliminate my future dreams oh, it would be so nice on the beach I could check out the federales cars, when they come by to visit to free rotation for the surfer girls sweet

    My problem is my garage is only 106" tall. I'll need to get something as short as an Exige (about 46") as my weekend car to fit a 'normal' low 56" car underneath. Life goals :)

    Bought one off craigslist for 1500 works great in my shop for oil changes on my brothers 305 sprint car and my 600 super sprint. The cars are too low for a jack and often is a pretty tight situation with a lift it's raised up and we can stand underneath it. Us it helps so when our hauler is in the shop we can just park my 600 under the 305 on the lift half to put the wing waaaaayy down but that takes seconds

    I'm curious how that lift supports the weight of the car... I hope it's not only hydraulic pressure... You know, when I lift a car, I use hydraulic pressure... through a jack. Before I get under the car... I put a jack stand under the car... as hydraulics fail.
    Edit: Safety locks. Seems good to me.

    Did you ever figure out if a cheaper bridge jack will work with the HD9?? The Bendpak unit is over 2x the price of the DirectLift but I read that the directlift unit will have issues working on the HD9...haven't been able to confirm that myself. Thanks the video's...very well done.

      The short answer is I could never figure out if it'd work so I didn't want to spend $500 to find out. That being said I'll have a video out soon on the RJ-45 from bendpak!

    Can you set a height stop, or is there a chance that you'll lift your car right into the ceiling if you're not paying attention?

    • @TWRX_Chuck
      @TWRX_Chuck  7 лет назад +10

      +Lee Moore I don't think there is a height stop, you just have to be careful. But I will say it's fairly slow so it's pretty easy to judge lol

      I used SGS Services (Manassas VA) for the install, it took a total of maybe 4-5 hours for the two guys to do it. Same guys I had come back and bolt it to the floor. Both times they were prompt and did good work. Ask for Ron.
