My Car Lifts are COMPLETE! BendPak Autostackers at The Shmuseum | VLOG 48

- The new car lifts are installed and loaded up at @TheShmuseum! We have 4 BendPak Autostacker A6W lifts, now with the Shmeemobiles parked on them and looking incredible in the garage. This has been the dream for a while, and it's now an epic reality!
The intention in the space has always been to use the main long wall for storage with the installation of the best possible car lifts; with the opposing side acting more as the museum presentation of cars spaced out, all with a view from the end at the offices and mezzanine. We got underway with the start of the installation of the first 4 lifts, which are now complete before the mezzanine in a month or two.
For the purpose, we have gone for the Autostacker A6W lifts for numerous benefits and reasons. When they are installed the cars up top visually appear to be floating on a platform with no posts obstructing the view, as well as being able to be installed right alongside one another to maximise the use of the available space. The A6W are the wide option so perfectly suited to the supercars in the collection, but also have a low ramp angle to have any of my cars driven on, as well as being easy to operate.

In addition to the Autostackers, we also have a few useful tools for the garage including the Quickjack, trolley jacks, wheel dollies, axle stands and more. We're especially looking forward to having the Quickjack up and running for future wheel changes and tasks:

NB: We are aware that the wheel stops are installed in reverse, these will be rectified as soon as we have the right tools for the job.
How epic do the BendPak lifts look at The Shmuseum! NB: we're aware the wheel stoppers are reversed and will swap them ASAP when we have the tools.
How about some spot floodlights aimed up from the wall near floor level to illuminate the lower surface of the lift platforms and hence the cars underneath. Colour selectable might be cool although maybe not "disco". 🤣🤣🤣

Why are these ramps so short?
I reccomend putting some sort of lighting for under the lifts

You should add LED lights below the stand to light up the car at the lower postions. It would look awesome !

I'd put blocks in the back of the SLS now so you can get it to stop in the same spot every time without having to worry about hitting the door when it opens.
Alternatively, one position higher eliminates concerns.

In my garage I hung a tennis ball on a piece of string so when the back window hits it I know I am in the right position. Could be a solution here too?

@@the72inc73 The back of the SLS and the others under the lifts seem to be too far forward for that here. You'd have to hang them from the lifts themselves so either have to remove them every time you want to lower the lift or risk them getting crushed every time you lower the lifts. I doubt they'd damage the lift at all, but regardless you don't really want to be crushing anything when lowering the lift.
I think some tape to mark the position of blocks, wheel chocks or tyre cushions then they can be easily removed and placed accurately again when you need to access the upper cars is probably the best way to go. I think trying to rehang a ball or something else soft on a string accurately each time would be harder to do, although thinking about it (as I type :) ), you could permanently tape a small hook in one of the ribs (so it is impossible to crush it/pinch it when moving a lift) then have some numbered lightly weighted soft things on string matched to each lift position and car combo which could make it easier to place and remove accurately, and actually could make parking different cars in the same spaces easier (with a large selection of hanging things and multiple hooks under each lift to hang from, centre, left and right for mid engined limited rearward visibility but you can see by sticking your head out the driver's window, LHD and RHD).
Lights under the lifts may help show off the cars underneath in the future 😃

That blue part of the walls should definitely change to a lighter and more neutral color like a light gray. The cars would stand out 10 times more.

u guys should put a contaniner outside next the shmuseum 2 put your the things in that along the back wall so u get more room and fit more cars

I love the way this looks so cool to see all the cars on the lifts. Maybe some lines or marks on the ground for the lower cars to help with backing and space to be able to open the doors.
Or a little mark or poster on the wall to the left something to aim for that way they’ll get it bang on every time
As an FYI, those yellow tire-stops are on backwards on the rear of the upper section of the BendPak. I tried to link the photo, but it appears to auto-flag the comment. It can be seen in proper orientation on the Bendpak website and in the Autostacker manual.
Yeah I kinda thought the same and cool you highlighted it. It didn’t appear correct the sharp edge was digging into tyre. You would have thought the installers would have known this. Hopefully Tom will pick up on your comment.
The scissor life system is definitely the best option. More compact then a post system and they look good too!

Straight up, this channel is fast becoming my favourite one of the 2. Love the relaxed vibe and all the improvements to the Shmuseum. NGL, I was worried about SLS and McLarens going underneath because of their door mechanisms. Can't wait to see all the cars in there. 👍
Same, I much prefer this over the regular channel. You really don't see stuff like this anywhere else that I'm aware of, and it really shows how much thought, planning and effort goes into maintaining a collection

Only real negative I can see on this version of bendpack car lifts is that fact you can’t really work on your car while it’s up, but i guess these are just for this exact purpose you have for it. Looks very good Tim ! 👊🏼
Exactly that, they're ideal for our purpose, and we have the Quickjack for wheel changes etc!
@@TheShmuseum You may want a plan C or D, for a 4 Post lift down the road. The Quickjacks are good for changing wheels, but if you need to do much under the cars, laying on the floor gets old quick.

for some reason with the light, I really got a great look at the pearl on the 63's paintwork, looked spectacular, especially on those bulbous fender flairs. sooo good.

Now you've got some space to get some RC cars based around some of the cars in the garage, there are defiantly Ford Gt and Mercedes AMG GT3 ones on the market, great fun to build and be even better to drive on the concrete floor.
I know it was all considered when designing the ramps but watching you reverse the vehicles, see the vehicle fall into the dip and not hit the diffuser made me wince and have like 5 minor heart attacks ahahaha

looks pretty awesome. Might be worth putting some blocks on the bottom row and fix them in place like you did with the lifts? Then you can just reverse the likes of the AMG back until you hit those blocks and then you know the door is good and the wing mirror slides in that gap in the ceiling....
