      Just had a look and the Amazon Music app is on the Play Store, but not Amazon Music HD - you might be able to sideload the HD version using this method....Might be compatible - no gurantees though 😉

      @@WOTBoxTV thanks for the response - I went ahead bought a shield despite my concerns and the amazon music app actually says it’s the hd version however it seems limited to 16/48 confirmed by my anthem processor despite the track showing the higher resolution available - I sideloaded amazon music hd app as you suggested and it will do the full resolution confirmed by my processor however the app is almost impossible to navigate - I think the issue is the tv version of the amazon music hd app is limiting the resolution - hopefully amazon will fix this soon

    can you make a list of all the apps that are compatible? Some apps don't navigate very well with the remote.

    • @WOTBoxTV
      @WOTBoxTV  4 года назад

      Nice idea, but tbh, it would be a massive task. Estimates on how many apps there are on the Play Store range from 500,00 to over 5 million - take your pick ( answersdrive.com/how-many-apps-are-there-in-the-google-play-store-6208097 ). Compatibility issues including screen orientation, android version number, app version number, touch screen, remote or mouse navigation etc, all go to make the task more difficult.
      Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but I agree, it's frustrating, and generally it's a question of try it and see if it works.

      Hey Stevie, Yeah, i sometimes use Apps2Fire but find the scanning process a touch slow....
      On to your issue - Couple of possibilities:
      • Even on the same network things like ad blockers, dns changers, vpns etc can cause connection problems…make sure they're off/disabled
      • Also, have you definitely enabled developer options on the Shield?
      • Finally, I know it sounds a silly question, did you click the “Discover/Scan network” icon (left icon at top right) and select Shield, followed by the connect button (to the right of the scan icon) in top right of screen?sounds a silly question, did you click the “Discover/Scan network” icon (left icon at top right) and select Shield, followed by the connect button (to the right of the scan icon) in top right of screen?

      Rather than installing it to your Shield directly from the phone, have you tried transferring it to your Shield first and then installing it from on the Shield itself?

    Good video,👍👍
    works fine on my tv, but there are some question in my problems:
    1.when i open the EFT app and click the icon (second from right at the top), but
    my tv can't be listed with the LAN IP address the cellphone and tv connection.. ,message appear :no devices found,if succcessly connected i must enter the ip address manually(click symbol of three stripes=》setting=》connct.setting:FireTV IP:192.68......),then iclick on the icon top right to connect to the device and see a “connected to ….(192.168.xx.xxx)” message,
    why?
    2.when install apk file that ihave downloaded (to my phone) on to tv ,and successfully but I can't find the destination of the APK file in tv,( i use fx file explorer app),do you know where is the file destination?
    Thanks

    • @WOTBoxTV
      @WOTBoxTV  3 года назад

      1) If your TV is not listed there might be a couple of reasons. -a- Did you enable debugging on your Developer options on the TV settings (both network AND USB)? And b do you have any apps on your tv or phone like mouse toggele, ad blockers, adguard, dns changers etc? Those type of apps would mean your TV doesn’t get seen because they effectively make your device appear to be on a different network…... The TV and phone MUST be on the same network (LAN or wifi).
      2) In EFT, if you are on the sideload tab, which I think you are, you “discover” your TV and link to it ok. Then you install it from your phone. There is nowhere to that you have to go to on your TV to then find the apk as it is already installed...PROBABLY….. I say probably because not all apps that can be loaded on your phone can be sideloaded to your TV...dude to incompatibility… You may not be finding an app on your tv if installation has failed due to this...….
      As I have advised you before, these type of questions are best put in the Facebook groups rather than here

      Uniquely amongst UK terrestrial channels, Channel 4 does not have an app which runs on the NVIDIA SHIELD (or presumably any other TV or device running AndroidTV OS) - the regular Android app is unusable. It's very irritating.
