Its very good modem inside snapdragon x65 like s23 and apple new series the only big problem is no outside antenna to plug in that's why not good for traveling because sometime need a outdoor antenna to boost the signal.
You are addressing the exact question that I am shopping for now. I have att with a good data but need backup for coverage. I want to work fromRV but need to know I can join the zoom calls and so on. I am going to add Verizon to the mix just need to pick plan and device. It seems 5g won’t be much of a thing for camping as we won’t be in cities. …..will have to guess a bit if I get a g5 hotspots now.
Having both ATT and Verizon as options have definitely helped and if I did not have both there would have been times that my data speed was not what I needed it to be to work. I am STILL having issues actually finding Verizon's real 5G network. I just got back from a week long van trip to the Puget Sound area, Tacoma specifically and the Verizon hotspot did not ever log onto their faster 5G network while I was there. Just 4G and the fake 5G. Ugh.
Thank you! I do not typically use a VPN as they tend to slow down web speeds. On public networks I just don’t typically do anything that isn’t just mundane surfing so I feel like the VPN isn’t really needed most of the time. When I do use one I use Tunnel Bear.
These communication companies are no different from fuel companies and corporations this day and age you should be able to get good signals no matter where you go. Sometimes I get so mad at my iPhone and pack spending so much money for plans and not get a goddamn good signal I feel like throwing the shit out of the window.
Cool stuff thanks for sharing. I plan on getting mine next week or so.. How were the speeds after the “allowance” and were you throttled, and how bad was the throttling speeds? Thank you
I actually never went over the data allotment so I haven’t hit the throttling yet. I’m actually curious to see if they keep the 5G UW throttling when that network becomes available everywhere. It’s supposed to only slow down to 5Mbps at the slowest if you go over your data.
Great video good information. I was thinking about dropping my home internet Xfinity I guess that sounds like it's going to be not the way to go? What are your thoughts on that or have you already answered them in this video I would appreciate any feedback!! Thank you and thanks for putting out this video it was very entertaining and informational. Would like to hear back from you on your opinion of this. ✌️
Hi, sorry for the delay in responding! I have not found the 5G Ultra coverage areas to be any better now then when I got the hotspot. If worked as advertised all the time, on the faster 5G Ultra bands, if you get throttled it is down to like 5MBs/sec which is very usable for most things. I so far have been throttled on this hotspot several times and it is less than 1 MBs/sec and totally unusable for anything other than checking email. I would not recommend replacing Xfinity with this just yet. I have not found a really well liked “wireless” alternative to traditional home internet. Even Starlink has its issues.
@@TeamLynchSpiritofAdventure Thanks for your response I may need to send this unit back and not even open it up. I live in the Chicago metropolitan area. I bought the same exact device 2 months ago and I can tell you that I never got 5G UW connection in any of the advertised Ultra-Wideband coverage areas. That's why I've been in touch with Level 2 tech support, they even reached out to the networking team but in 2 months they didn't come up with a reason why my device doesn't connect to 5G Ultra-Wideband. Just today I received a replacement device from Verizon but that on won't connect either. I am still able to use it as a 5G hotspot device with Speeds up to Upload 100/ Download 50 MBPS but it is really frustrating that I cannot get the Ultra-Wideband speeds which are way faster than what I am getting currently. I am thinking to return the device and cancel the service if they don't fix this soon
Great video! Thanks! Have you kept using it over the past year? I am new to America and will travel around and work mobility. If so, have you seen the 5G coverage get better since then?
The 5g in America is very bad. I have Verizon and there's a mobile hotspot device called the RC400L. I watch Netflix and do zoom calls with it. It only does 4g, but when you connect to 5g in America, usually your connection is slower than 4g. Once in a great while it will be much faster, but that is very rare. I drive all over the nation for work and I've found 5g not worth the extra money.
Sorry for the late reply. Update - I have used this for gaming and it's actually as good as any broadband connection. I have not been able to get a good feel for data usage per hour when gaming though.

Will this work in a building that has a spotty cellular signal? I just want to have access to the internet for class work while I'm at school. The internet there is TERRIBLE!
Hi! Yes, I have noticed that it seems to pick up signal a bit better than my cell phone so I could see this working better than a phone could in a building with weak reception.
I have not noticed better speeds but then again it has been somewhat up and down depending where I travel. I must say that it is usually the most reliable total bandwidth option I have when compared to the iPhone hotspots I use.
I usually have it plugged in but I have used it unplugged with constant usage. I have had it last about 4.5 hours full on with Zoom and regular email work stuff.
It’s what they market as unlimited. Up to 50 gb then slow down. On the 5G Ultra Wideband (UW) the slowdown is still about 5mb download speed so in theory you could still stream movies and do video calls.

@@TeamLynchSpiritofAdventure Verizon requires that code to be responded to by a push because they can lose millions with ID theft. They are the Mercedes of cell coverage/providers & like any capitalist they guard their $$$ jealously.
hmm 30GB on "Unlimited" Plan.. Stupid Verizon play on words on "Unlimited" geez.... 😫 you should test on the throttled speed. BTW, you should check on the Visible wireless $25, unlimited on Verizon network and use PDAnet for hotspot, true UNLIMITED. join the Reddit group for Visible for $25 a month. I plan to use that for fall back instead of my T-Mobile's wireless. Still waiting for my Beyond 22C AWD Li3.. Oct... sigh..
I have the Inseego 5G, but I’m in Canada with Rogers. They don’t make the “unlimited” claim and only offer one plan… $50 per month for 500GB. That’s not a typo, it really is $50 for five hundred GB. I finally that’s enough for me.
I use about 5GB a day. So 75GB would last about 15 days. And Verizon throttling is useless, so that's only about 15 out of 30 days I can use the mobile Internet. Just have to keep in mind that I am not getting a landline Internet which in my case is about 900Mbps and so far never hit a throttling point. HotSpots feels like a handicaped device and expectations are low.

@@TeamLynchSpiritofAdventure - for me Verizon has been very harsh on the throttling. Sending me warnings that I am nearing my "unlimited" limit, than right on que the throttling.
You 100% bought this for the wrong reason lol you don’t buy a hot spot (that uses cell towers) for areas where cell towers don’t usually work :P and it’s 3 years later and 5guw is still only really in major cities. (As it should be) they don’t have good range so it doesn’t make sense for them to be anywhere else. They also don’t perform well in certain buildings.
Please tell me more. You know of cellular hot spots that don’t use towers? I used to work in digital narrow band comms and satellite comms. I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying.
@ you should’ve got something like starlink that uses satellites. My point was why complain about something that uses cell towers you already know your phone won’t work well so why would your hotspot lmfao it’s the same thing basically. I got this but not to use in places with bad cell reception :P I got it to use for multiple devices to replace my internet and to take with me anywhere
Ahh. You missed the point I made about the hotspot being on another carrier’s network so the thought was to expand cell tower access, not jump on the same towers just through different hardware. In cases where you can’t deploy your Starlink antenna safely, a cell tower hotspot is still the go-to. Signal attenuation will affect WiFi router signals as well through walls which can be an issue if you work from a building and are connected to your RV’s router. Once you’ve been out on the road in various parts of the country a lot of scenarios come up where having just one way to access the internet just won’t always work.

Not that I have experienced. I got speeds just over 200Mbs down pretty consistently with uploads around 20Mbs
If you're doing online gaming, would it make sense to have a router connected?
Yes, but a lot of the routers actually slow down your traffic and leads to lag on the game.
