    Excellent video. Thank you. BUT. After some experimentation with your method and others, I favor this alternative method: 1. take the folded filter out of the box, four tips up. 2. pull the first leaf open. Voila. There's your filter. I am using a Hario Switch. Could be that your method will more evenly distribute the pour, and I will try both methods, but I SERIOUSLY DOUBT if my coffee-tasting snobbery will allow me to tell a difference in the two folding methods. Thanks though for a very straightforward and workable video. Delightful presentation. EDIT: I just saw that this method is discussed in a comment below. Perfect. You've covered all the bases. I'll leave my comment up, but no criticism from me. As I said, I'll experiment with both methods and give feedback if I find any difference.

    Wow, just wow! You don't have to do anything of the sort. You just remove one square filter open with the three folds at the spout and the one fold to the back and you are done.

    • @TeamLynchSpiritofAdventure
      @TeamLynchSpiritofAdventure Месяц назад

      Without a big spout on my carafe it just seems weirdly thin. People have stated that if you have a carafe with a spout and put the thin side towards the spout, it is prone to collapse. This version works well in both carafe styles and won’t collapse. One doesn’t HAVE to fold it this way, but one doesn’t HAVE to brew coffee using a non-bleached, paper filter pour over method with precision temperature monitoring either. It’s for the love of the coffee.

      Hi. I don’t think the latches have been changed out as these seem to be pretty much the standard on these types of drawers and cabinets (and the newer vans look to have the same ones or similar). What I’ve found is that they are just 2 little screws for each side of the latch and can be replaced easily with ones rated at a higher weight which is what I did. Thanks for watching!

Is my first adequate for travel,minimal if any boondocking,extensive travel with either coach.There is a substantial cost for the lithium unit,can I do without it. Thanks for replying if you see this in 2024.

      @TeamLynchSpiritofAdventure 3 месяца назад

      Hi there and thanks for watching! Your first option list CAN be adequate but you would need to understand how you’re going to use the van. With a 1000W inverter things like hot tea kettles or microwaves running while you have other electric dependent items running could be an issue. How will your A/C be tied in? I’ve seen the 2000W inverter to be the standard and for good reason (I have that kind) and it’s worked well and I do happen to have a microwave, induction top, and tea kettle. As for the batteries. That’s where I would say you could save money if you will never hardly boondock. Plugged up to shore power or with a generator 100% of the time and it’s not as a big deal on the batteries.

What went went into this design change for Bertha 2.0? Also, I enjoy preparing meals everyday. You mentioned not cooking inside the van. How did you reach this decision?

    • @TeamLynchSpiritofAdventure
      @TeamLynchSpiritofAdventure 4 месяца назад

      Sorry for the delayed response as we have been in the road. With interest rates still high it’s been hard to give Bertha a new home with a lot of people unable to get a decent loan so we are still in Bertha 1.0. The decision to not cook inside, at least not cook proteins and other things from raw was to not have the smoke and smell stick to the inside of the van and to eliminate any potential “grease” or other similar haze that can sometimes accumulate on surfaces near where you cook. It’s been pretty easy to find hot plates that run on propane outside and plug into the van’s propane.

    Nice alternate fold, but I don't see how it could change the brew. In the usual method, you have 50% of the surface area of the filter with 3 layers of paper, and the other 50% with 1 layer. In your method, it's the same proportion: 50% 3-layer, and 50% 1-layer.

      It creates a more even exposure to the linen filter. Both sides have. Equal folds and are mirrored to each other. You can also use this fold if you don’t have a chemex carafe with the big spout. There’s also just buying cone shaped linen filters too lol.

      Hi Jim! Thanks for watching and great question. Your issue is a known issue on certain year model Beyond’s and most likely other models of Coachman vans. Bertha had the problem with the battery switch too disconnecting for no reason and needing to be reset. Sometimes it was super solid and sometimes would not stay connected the entire day. Replacing the switch is what fixed it for most. A lot of people seemed to have had the problem resolved as a warranty fix.

      Hi, sorry for the delay in responding! I have not found the 5G Ultra coverage areas to be any better now then when I got the hotspot. If worked as advertised all the time, on the faster 5G Ultra bands, if you get throttled it is down to like 5MBs/sec which is very usable for most things. I so far have been throttled on this hotspot several times and it is less than 1 MBs/sec and totally unusable for anything other than checking email. I would not recommend replacing Xfinity with this just yet. I have not found a really well liked “wireless” alternative to traditional home internet. Even Starlink has its issues.

Then there's all these people rolling across getting it for free makes no sense to me I guess the working class is paying for everyone's free internet. Good question. I use the adapter on the end that plugs into the house/generator/shore power. I haven’t seen adapters for the van end of the plug but even if those are out there I try to take as little as possible that is bulky, especially if it is for a single purpose. Keeping the 30amp cord with a small 20Amp (and also a 50amp) adapter takes up the least amount of space in the van and I try to replicate the routine for home plug in too.

    My Inseego is T-Mobile unlimited always full speed no throttling. Had it for 3 days and just playing around have already used 37.9 GB data. Downloading big Linux 4GB distros. Almost always connects to n25 band which is the ultra wide band, but also has all other T-Mobile bands like n41 and n71. In the right location in my house gets consistent 3 bars and 460 mbps download, 20 mbps upload, elsewhere in house gets 2 bars and 250-300 mbps. Outside get over 500 mbps speed with 4 bars. But I am getting special external antenna via Amazon next week. Am expecting around 750 mbps then. I connected my computer direct via 1 GB Ethernet cable. Have 3 Mint Mobile phones (uses T-Mobile network}, 3 streaming TVs, 2 computers. Works great with everything turned on. Supports 32 devices, but I will most likely connect my Netgear wireless router to the Ethernet plug and plug computer into one of the 1 gbps ports. Then will have 4 1 gbps Ethernet plugs and support for 256 WIFI 2.4/5gb devices. Inseego also supports new 6G on band n41 and TMobile has that coming soon. Paying annually my unlimited no throttling T-Mobile sim is $500 per year. MUCH more if done monthly.

New T-Mobile plan will be $750 first year and then $500 per year. So T-Mobile.Inseego WIFI is $300/year cheaper and much faster and FAR more reliable, and portable. Also actually T-Mobile home WIFI is $50/mo compared to Inseego at $42/mo. And Inseego router is MUCH better in many ways than the one they use for their T-Mobile Home Internet Service.. It has port forwarding for example, while T-Mobile one does not.

    Thank you so much for this video. Purchasing this year and model van, and your videos are certainly helping me! The former owner took off the bike rack and left the holes. Wondering where to get the black parts there to cover up the holes. I have ebikes so I'll be getting a hitch bike rack.

      Hi and thank you for watching. I’m so mad the videos are helping you. Unfortunately most of those bike racks are custom made and the black plastic feet are typically part of the rack. I ditched my rack, literally threw it away, but kept the black pieces to make sure I didn’t have issues with water or anything. If I were you, I’d contact the manufacturer of the van you are looking at, specially the parts/service folks. They may be able to provide just that part. Going to a dealer can be helpful but I’ve found that direct to manufacturer has been the best. For instance, my van is a Coachman Beyond and Coachman has an entire Class B team and dedicated parts people. They have been able to get me the little drawer hardware and things that would probably be tough for a dealership to get.

    Make sure the open side is facing you before you begin folding otherwise it wont open properly at the end.

    Great info, the clearance was very helpful and maybe they can place different locations or once you have lithium batteries do you need generators?

    You should have gotten someone to taste test them without knowing which one was which,
