  • On the Labour Day long weekend 11th - 13th March 2023 the annual Train & Hobby show was held at the Sandown Racecourse in Melbourne's south east. The show is primarily a model railway exhibition but also includes other hobbies including RC cars, tanks, boats, planes, and this year; arts and crafts. In this video we focus only on the model trains which took up the entirety of the ground floor.
This year saw a decent variety of Australian, American and some British trains. Trains seen include some Victorian trains including the Victorian Railways and V/Line, but we also see some Australian National Railways & the New South Wales railways, Freight Victoria/Australia, the Puffing Billy Railway, among others.

Nice video mate. I went on the Monday. It was a lot quieter when I went but I guess the Monday is never usually busy. What day did you go?

Cheers. I went on the Sunday, there weren't too many people then either. I'd say crowd numbers are definitely down from previous years.

Was there a certain year that they had it set in as I don’t see many things above 1980s

There doesn't appear to be a set time period for these exhibitions, it's up to the individual choice of the exhibitors as to what layout they bring and what trains they run.
