Kishore is the best when it comes to roles like these. He steals the show. Great screen presence. He should be given lead roles.
There is so much detail in every frame. After stabbing Kishore, Dhanush who called Harish 'Anna' all the while till then, quickly says 'Namma paya ivan, dei otha poda dei, inga nikkatha po'. Semmma change of character! Outstanding stuff this.
Also Ameer mentions that Kishore is the 'sharpest' of all his boys. This scene shows that nobody could touch him from the front despite a thorough 'sketch'.

Indeed the detailing is awesome. You can notice that all the goons in Guna’s gang that are part of the attack can be found in the scene where Guna invites Anbu to his home to explain the ‘sketch’. They are one of the few who actually know that Anbu is a spy.
This interval block kishore murder scene is one of the most iconic scene ever made in our Kollywood history , This movie remains me of the Portuguese movie "city of god".IDK why ,vadachennai & city of god full of raw essence ,story never revolves around hero but Hero just plays one of the role in a story. In both the film hero becomes hero only in the climax

My all time favorite scene in Tamil cinema, it's almost a ritual to watch certain scenes of Vada Chennai everyday since October 2019 (I saw this movie 5 times in theaters, the only movie ever I have done so in my life). The overall prison Riot scene culminating at the end of the carrom board tournament is easily one of the the best staged and executed scenes in film history. The BGM is outright stunning and mindblowing particularly from 6:22 (Viswasam) and comparable with the likes Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman, etc.. It elevates the tension of the screenplay to a different level altogether. Goose bumps!! Incredible and immersive..the BGM of the movie as such ranks top in Indian movie annals...An incredible tour-de-force. Enjoy it with a NC headset... :)
Well fellow like minded person. Been saying this for 2 years m. First comment I'm seeing comparing this to Zimmer. Tamil movies have great BGMs but mostly they are supplementary, they don't make the scene. This does. 'Viswasam' does what 'No time for caution' does in Interstellar. It commands your senses at its will. Very rare music makes you comply involuntarily.

The attention to detail in this movie is amazing.
1. The men who try to surround Senthil are those only members of Guna’s gang that are aware of Anbu’s loyalty as can be seen in the scene where Guna asks Anbu to spy for him.
2. The first guy who gets stabbed by Velu at 7:07 is Senthil’s mole in Velu’s block who has been exposed by the spying of Anbu.
Oh nice.. I wondered why they stabbed the first guy.. they always mentioned there was a senthils mole in Gunas block.. never thought they found him
