What if you’ve been regularly working out for years and suddenly develop lymphedema (no etiology identified through work up). Can you continue to train at the same (elite athlete) level?
Thank you for your question, but I cannot answer personal medical questions :( Definitely get an evaluation with a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. They are highly trained healthcare providers who can assess your condition and educate you on what's best for your specific situation. In general though, if someone has lymphedema, compression garments should be worn with exercise, including high level exercise, to best manage it. Hope that helps, and let me know if you need help finding a lymphedema therapist near you!
@@oncopelvicpt thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my question. I live in the central New York area so if you do have some recommendations regarding certified lymphedema therapists, I would appreciate it!
@@maddie-ld9cn I'm not sure what's considered central NY, but here are some links to help find someone near your zip code! You can also email me at hello@oncopelvicpt.com if you have a hard time finding someone, www.clt-lana.org/therapists directory.klosetraining.com
Btw, I love your videos: succinct and so very, very informative and helpful. You have a great energy about you. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Figuring out the nuances of living with lymphedema can be challenging, so I hope to make it more clear! :)
