Our neighbour is 97 years old. But he still acts like he is 30 years old. Jogging, driving, hiking, cycling, cooking, there is nothing he doesn’t do. It just bugs me that a person some 80 years older than me is more active than an athlete.

Human Potato I'm 19,and while I understand that in the average of 80 years life, I'm young. I've only gotten about 1/4 of my life done.
But I'm "old" in comparison to my friends. I handle all of my bills, no dependence on my parents, live on my own, and I'm married. Maturity and responsibility wise, I'm more mature. And I FEEL old because I have a snail metabolism and back pain. But I get in still hella young. I just feel like I'm already 30, but i get that I'm not.
So, I guess if he has reasons as to why he is feeling old (other than just being older than others), then his statement can be justified.
i'm 24 and have none of that haha so i feel totally young - i can't IMAGINE being married so young (no offence...but what's the rush? other than legal reasons,i never understood why people rush into marriage, especially when you're still changing at such a young age, i was a differnet person at 19 than i am now at 24, but that's just me aha)
i've partied so much i have it out of my system. i had my fun and i'm living the life i can while still young. drove cross country last year, spent my first semester of college going out with friends, experimented with substances.... still dependant on my family because i was NOT raised in a normal household like most people. i was rushed to be independant, and was left alone a lot as a teenager. because of my anxiety and depression, i can't imagine living alone right now. If i wasn't in school full time i could finanically support myself, not ideally though. i wouldn't want to rent a ROOM in a house full of college kids though, which is the only comparable option to what i pay now for rent. I love my gradmother and choose to live with her while i still have the time to. I have the rest of my life to get married, have kids, live alone...bills are, unavoidable. already about $30,000 in debt from 3 college programs, if i don't need to live alone i don't think i will anytime soon. ;) but shit man, cudos to you. that's hard to do, especially now a days. i like understanding why people are at the stages they're at in life. some people are "behind" because of abuse, neglect, mental or physical illnesses, traumatic experiences ect - while others are "doing fine" or "ahead" because their parents aren't divorsed/they live in a 2 parent household, haven't had any traumatic experiences, maybe they started out life with no student debt, their parents are smart, successful, don't have any drug abuse issues, no anger issues. No family's perfect - but your parents are the MAIN reason for your success or failure at 18. Whether it be materialstic things you can see, or psychological aspects of home life. I saw a video of some 16 year old kid who built a tiny home in his parent's backyard. All the comments were praising him and saying "oh no one has excuses if this kid can do it" that kid has mommy and daddy to not only provide the space, but help him with the equipment, his dads friend was an electrician, his parents had the tools and skills to help out, and they were financially stable enough so that their child can do what he wants with his money, while mommy and daddy still buy his clothes, pay his bills - something an adult can't do. so people really need to look at an individuals upbringing to determine if it was them that got them there, or their parents help got them started. Nothing wrong with it though.
SO, FEEL about 20 years old! But, in some aspects i feel more mature than my peers, when it comes to interests and intelligence about certian topics. I'm not that smart, but i feel like a lot of people suffer from illusory superiority. where people aren't consciously aware of their success or failure. they can't compare themselves to others accurately, so they fall below the social norm. It's hard to explain, but i feel about 45 years old compared to some comments i see on facebook. I often have to explain how things work for "adults" when they lose their shit online. Shit like THAT makes me feel VERY old

Agree too. Usually it happens as you would think the old is wise as he has accumulated a lot of knowledge through their experiences while the young is naive as they haven't attained a lot. But of course there's always an exception. We have kids who are super wise due to the experiences they went through and we have adults that are ignorant and dumbasses as they only cared about themselves. I mean just look at the Paul brothers

When I hit my 16's I started to feel old and I started to think about how close I was approaching my 18's and this kept going for a while, I turned 22 and I was freaking out because I was getting closer to my 25!
To make this story short, when I hit my 27 I got tired of getting afraid of getting old when I wasn't even yet close to be old. I also realized that there's no way you can't stop time and embraced the cycle of life.
I haven't married yet either, I'm 35 now but I feel so strong and with so much to do yet, most of my friends married pretty young and end up (mostly) divorcing and I decided just to take it slow and enjoy life. I haven't met yet my love life but I'm not in a rush, if it happens it will happen, and if not, well, I'm still happy and surrounded by amazing friends, not having a child is not the end of the world after all, to quote an old amazing fella (Gandalf) "End? No the journey doesn't end here, death is just another path, one that we all must take."

I'm legit feel so old and I'm only 14. I feel old because I have to live a role in my life right now where I have to be an adult... Adulting at a young age can ruin your feeling for being young but as also I am scared of getting old and the thought of death haunts me. But I always wish I was 16 so I can start driving and actually adulting but truth is I wish I was back in 4th grade snickering about how Jessica threw crayons at Monica during a test. (Ik ik) but I just need a better position right now. I am having to always make "better" decision for others than what I do for myself. To be honest there will be a time where I have to accept the fact that I'm going to pass away or when I actualñy have to deal with not marrying the person I loved at 12 years old. I wanna travel, not think about time, have fun in my own way, and do things nobody would do out of the ordinary. I wanna be able to actually sit down and think about my future now rather than later because being only 14 means actual stress because of school and parents. And family issues. Just for a tip: live life, be care free, and be you.
