For me it wasn't bad that the t Rex lost although it's my favorite dinosaur. It was the unrealistic way that it lost the fight. Plus the fight was way too short. Otherwise I have always thought the spino was one of the coolest looking dinos in the franchise.
To be fair an actual fight between the two would probably be even shorter, big Dinosaurs would be relatively delicate just owing to physics. Force equals speed plus mass, gravity is a constant on earth at 9.8 mps/s, so we can scale something big to small easily. If your pushed over it might hurt your knees and scrape your hand BUT ultimately nothing, an animal that weighs almost 10 tons and keeps it’s head about 15 to 20 feet of the ground is going to experience colossal forces upon hitting the ground. This is also before we factor in bite strength, claws etc. a fight between animals like the Spinosaurus and Tyrannosaurus would all be about who lunged first, probably a lot of preamble hissing and posturing but the fight itself would be seconds.
I'm really glad you did another video about the Spinosaurus. I am also for Team T.rex, but I really do appreciate and admire having another large theropod in the franchise, and it is both very scary and awesome of a creature in terms of looks and sounds. Certainly it is a dinosaur that stands out among others. I would love to see it return in the next movie or for another one to have been cloned.
I was 10 when JPIII came out...I loved it back then as I did the other two films. Since then the Spino has been my fave dinosaur, mainly because it was cool to 10-year-old me that there was a carnivore in a movie that was bigger than the Rex (I know, there were others, too)...Also oddly enough I agreed with Joe Johnston's interview on the DVD special features where he said that 'since the Rex was the 'king' of the first two films, it was time for a change'...And then in 2006 the actual Spinosaur was confirmed to be the largest and it felt like my love for the Spino paid off, weirdly :P I think we need to know what happened to this JPIII specimen in canon and if it (or another version) will appear in the future. ^^ Fingers and claws crossed!
I do fall in the "born in the late 90's and exposed to JP3 at an impressional age." I love Spinosaurus, and seeing her make a cameo in Camp Cretaceous makes me happy. Though, I would LOVE to see her come back in Jurassic World: Dominion.
Still love JP3. Crazy to find out this thing was possible a hybrid. Still want one in Ark, but they are just as aggressive as the JP3 one. My jaw dropped when I learned they were supposed walk on all fours!
I have no doubt in my mind that the Spino was one of Henry Wu's first hybrid experiments. Site B would have been the perfect place for him to do his work, away from the public and Ingen's eyes. That would definitely explain the Spino's nearly effortless victory over the juvenile Rex, the strength it had to wreck havoc on the plane and the fence later on, and maybe even it's relentless pursuit of the humans on that island. It would be really cool if we got more information about it on the next film, perhaps from Wu himself. Anyways, loving these new videos, Klayton!!! Keep it up buddy!
When I first saw JP3 I had no time for the Spinosaur. It was a transparent, knee-jerk reaction to the incorrect assumption that nobody liked the T-Rex anymore, that people were wanting something bigger, meaner and with "more teeth." These videos you've made, Klayton, have changed my mind. I'm now very interested in the Spino, and the information you have consolidated has given her far more depth than the movie ever could. Thank you for your ongoing efforts!
2, Years, Old? Boy that baby grew quick, the Spinosaurus in JP is about, what 40 to 50 ft or so, the accelerated growth gene thing seems possible, Rexy was 5 years old during the first film and she was, well more than 40 ft long. Edit: Also how old I was when that movie came out, well I wasn't born til Christmas Eve so I didn't see this movie until I watched it on DVD, and I think Rexy would fair better against the Spino than the young buck in the film.
How cooper got hurt. Cooper: (walks into the spinosaurus' swamp) Spinosaurus: what are you doing in my swamp! (proceeds to yeet cooper out of her swamp)
Great video of the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III. You’re right, the Spinosaurus is actually a hybrid because it wasn’t part of InGen’s list all Thanks to Dr Grant and Billy.
Spino is still my favorite animal in the franchise; the movie made it my favorite dinosaur of all time. I was 12 years old when the movie came out, but because I was never deeply attached to other dinosaurs, not even the Rexes, the Spino was the one that made an impression on me as a movie monster with both power and relative intelligence. Even though I've since learned more on what real life Spinosaurus was thought to be like, it hasn't changed my mind much about the JP3 animal (after my initial child-like confusion). The revelation from watching this channel that the Spino was a hybrid makes me feel better about my opinions. I still have a fondness for the spinosaurid family in real life, accepting them for the idea of them being lowly fishers, and can still retain my fandom for the Jurassic Park Spino as just the awesome animal it is despite it not being paleontologically accurate. I owe a great deal of my continuing love for dinosaurs to that animal. I don't expect it to return in the franchise, though that would be nice to see, but I can content myself to the showcase in the third movie.
My god...what a monster this thing is...and I LOVE IT!! Now I want to know who would win in a fight between the I-Rex and this Spinosaurus. I would personally say it would be a close match due to the Spino's unnaturally high aggression! Great job with this video, Klayton!
Depends. One of the weakneses of the T Rex against the Spino was, clearly, the arms. Not the case with Indominus. Also, I Rex is bigger, faster, cleverer (stupidly clever tbh) and with vicious nature... and tough af, it withstanded the impact of a rpg with no much effort. IMO, the Indominus Rex would win. However, Spino would be her biggest challenge ever. The battle would be brutal actually
DiddleDorp how do you know he’s dead? If you’re talking about that skeleton in JW then yeah you got the wrong Spino. It’s shorter and the bone structure is nothing like the JP3 Spino.
@@elementaljedi9335 Because of the DPG Website they have a list of extinct dinos and the Spino is on it. Where do you think they got most of the dinos for Jurassic World? They went to Site B to get them.
You’ll probably never see this Klayton but can I just say how much I appreciate you giving so many comments hearts. It might just be those people who get notifications, but I feel like such a little thing shows support for all types of opinions in the fandom. Just wanted to say thank you for that.

Very interesting discussion! I love JP3, one of my favorites from the franchise. The Spinosaruas is my favorite Dino and would love to learn more about it!
Bruh!!!!!! Only because you mentioned it that I realized that it's been damn near 20yrs since this film came out. Fuck me I'm nostalgic. Keep up the good vids 👍
I saw JP3 in theaters and I was 16 at the time. I honestly didn't mind the Spino killing the T-Rex. It gave that much more of a dynamic to the Spino that it could so easily dispatch the Rex. Plus, It wasn't Rexy, or even the 2 rex's from TLW, so there was no personal connection to it. Could it have been the baby rex from TLW? Not sure if you had discussed that at all. I know color shades can change in animals as they mature.
I was born into JP3 (born just over a month after the film) so the Spinosaurus holds a very special place in my heart, considering it was the face on all merchandise at the time. Since then I've always been a massive fan, and would love to see it return, even if it isn't the exact same one from JP3.
@David Gardner than they would all die at beginning of movie and would break that door and rip t Rex head now imagine if it was Godzilla size and strength and could breath fire

JW vs JP3 Dinosaurus Fight JW Allosaurus vs JP3 Ceratosaurus JW Giganotosaurus vs JP3 Spinosaurus JW Rexy vs JP3 T-Rex JW Carnotaurus vs JP3 Raptors JW Carnotaurus vs JP3 Ceratosaurus
I was 8 when I saw JP3 in theaters, and I loved the spinosaurus. Now that I'm older I realize that the movie had plenty of problems, but when I was a kid I had such a good time with it. I still have a soft spot in my heart for it. While I would never, ever want to see the spino kill Rexy, it didn't bother me that it killed the younger Rex in JP3. It was just their way of setting up the spino to be the new "big bad" of the film, and I don't fault them for it. And I would love to see the spinosaurus at least get a cameo of some kind in JW3. This new information about it being illegally created and a mistake that had to be kept secret has added more depth to it, and I would love to see more information like that released. As always, this is another great video!
Sean King I know it's not the same Trex but it be great for Rexy to get her revenge for killing one of her kind and regain her throne. Along with having an actual dinosaurs and not some CGI hybrid bullshit.
I was 2 years old at the time JP3 was released, same age as JP3 Spinosaurus apparently. I've watched both Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3 at the same time before I first watched TLW (Movies I've watched back then were out of order like this and Star Wars). I only had the VHS tapes of both of these movies and watched both of them constantly. I really liked both the Spinosaurus and T. rex, and I don't have qualms between two of them. Little did I know about the fan civil war between T. rex and Spino fans debating about this before I have access to the internet. I'm sort of a maverick among the fandom when it comes to this.
I'll admit that I do love the Rexes. The only thing that really bothered me about the Spinosaurus was that it just didn't seem to move as seamlessly as the other dinosaurs in the franchise. Certainly, CG was good enough to not make it look like an anamatronic animal, but in the fire in the water scene surrounding the boat, it just didn't...move like a real animal. When I compare that to the way the bull Rex moved around San Diego, it just doesn't look right.
I Hate The Spinosaurus, thanks to this movie. I even think I cursed, when I saw that Spino vs T-Rex scene in the cinema. Although in my adult time, I can understand why someone likes that dinosaur. But I am and will always be a team Velocireptor :3
The spino is a great way of reminding us that not even the Rex can stay on top of the food chain. I was salty with the rex dying in jp3. But looking back at it, with all the new info on the dpg website, i see and appreciate this dino even more now that it makes you sympathize with it cuz it wasn't it's fault that it was created or released. I pefer this film's design more than the scientifically accurate one. The scientifically accurate one looks like a giant dimetrodon that likes to swim. This one just shows even more terror not only as it is fast on land, but it can also swim in water. But hey that's my opinion.
I always thought the sail looked silly on it, the head never bothered me. But it is accurate to how an actual Spinosaurus looks, so it wasn´t like they could change that, despite giving it long legs, which is inaccurate.
I love the Spinosaurus so much ♥ It's my absolute favourite Dino from the "Jurassic Park" Franchise und I would kill for a comeback in "Jurassic World 3" #teamspino
I STILL REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST SAW JP3 WHEN I FIRST EARLY ON OWNED THE MOVIE ON VHS. I WOULD GO ON REPEATEDLY WATCH THE FILM AND AT THIS AGE AND THE ONE THING I LOVED WAS DINOSAURS TO NO END. THIS HAD EVEN GONE ON TO WHERE I PRONOUNCE THE NAME OF EVERY DINOSAUR AT THE AGE OF ONLY 4 YEARS OLD, AND OVER TIME I'VE STARTED TO HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF RESPECT FOR ALL THE JURASSIC FILMS AND MY HATRED FOR THE SPINOSAURUS HAS TURNED TO RESPECT FOR THE DINO. THE REASON BEING THAT LIFE FOUND A WAY AND SOMETHING HAS SURVIVED. @Klayton Fioriti
The first time I saw JP3, I was in middle school I think? Spino reminded both me and my mom of my dog for some reason we couldn't quite put our finger on, so she's always going to have a place in my heart 💕
I was 6 when I first watched this at home, while staying at my nans. At the time I was very into my dinosaurs and the previous JP never effected me quite as much as this one did... Scary wise. Just seeing that unstoppable killing machine take a hit by a plane, wreck the plane and kill two of the top mercenaries effortlessly (not in that order). It certainly was a sight to see, something that haunted my dreams for at least a year... Including the Pteranodons, the way that came out of the mist and looked unrecognisable to begin with, was quite enjoyable and terrifying to my 6 year old mind. I won't lie, I was always a T Rex fan, but that day seeing such a creature swayed me to its undoubtedly absurd strengths... To the point I'm still obsessed with finding out more information on this Spinosaurus. I still stand with what you pointed out and have done for many years. That this is one of, if not the first dino to have gene splicing. Maybe they chose it due to its large sail, that was jaw droppingly amazing to look at as it was, and wanted it larger and somehow messed up or purposesly added a few wrong things and created this utter monster. Also, I'll like to add I was shouting at the screen when she was yelling through a damn megaphone!! Like didn't Grant tell her about JP and what not to do, as they called him in for his expert help. 😂 Allosaurus is my all time favorite dinosaur.. It needs more screen time, hopefully see it kill those Russians!
My favorite dinosaur of this franchise since I was a child, and it has one of the most interesting stories. 6:47 yes Klayton, that's definitely my case 😉 (born in 1996) and no I didn't see JP3 in the theater but on VHS (VHS man.. Wow time flies ahah) when I was 5 or 6 :D
I would love to see the Spino in another JP/JW film but preferably not a part of the T. rex vs Spinosaurus rematch bit, as I think a rematch between the two resurrected titans is just kind of petty.
I saw this movie back in 2003 when it came out on DVD. I was about 20 years old when I watched it so i remembered it well. In fact I still have the DVD in my folder here at home.

Thanks for this man!! Been waiting for something like this for weeks!
For me it wasn't bad that the t Rex lost although it's my favorite dinosaur. It was the unrealistic way that it lost the fight. Plus the fight was way too short. Otherwise I have always thought the spino was one of the coolest looking dinos in the franchise.
Aaron Seamster exactly!!! I always thought the fight was really short, it could be much more epic and intricate
Agreed, although spino should still win otherwise there is no point of it in the movie xd
@@drewm.2790 lol it was 2001 bro highly doubt they could've afforded it, had that technology, or pulled off a fight like today's movies
I do fall in the "born in the late 90's and exposed to JP3 at an impressional age."
I love Spinosaurus, and seeing her make a cameo in Camp Cretaceous makes me happy.
I'm personally on team Spino but that's only because JP3 was my introduction to the franchise and dinosaurs as a whole so I feel attached to it.
Easily one of the best videos on your channel. Great use of music!
Truly love it when you talk about the Spinosaurus.
I like BOTH the TRex and Spino btw... They're both cool dinosaur in my book.
When I first saw JP3 I had no time for the Spinosaur. It was a transparent, knee-jerk reaction to the incorrect assumption that nobody liked the T-Rex anymore, that people were wanting something bigger, meaner and with "more teeth."
These videos you've made, Klayton, have changed my mind.
Cooper: (walks into the spinosaurus' swamp)
Spinosaurus: what are you doing in my swamp! (proceeds to yeet cooper out of her swamp)
Sees the usual upload notification for Klayton... realises its a Spino Video... immediately drops everything and sits ready to watch!
Another fantastic and insightful video mate, keep up the awesome work!
We ❤️ you Spino!!!!!!
Great video of the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III.
You’re right, the Spinosaurus is actually a hybrid because it wasn’t part of InGen’s list all Thanks to Dr Grant and Billy.
It's the Super Predator itself
It eats fish.

Not in JP 3
@joshua ashley
It means that it's a more fierce & powerful carnivorous dinosaur
(In the Jurassic Park Universe)
I'm one of those kids who watched the 3rd Jurassic park film before Jurassic park
Spinosaurus reminds me of the Egyptian god sabek because of the crocodile look. I dont believe in Egyptian gods but still its cool
I’m so glad a Jurassic video came out of my birthday I love Jurassic park it flipping awesome
Happy Birthday!
Ay my favorite dinosaur, keep up the great vids man
As a child I watched JP3 before the other two but I loved JP1 the most. I pieced everything together when I got older
The JP3 Spino has to appear or at Lear’s be referenced. If Rexy returned, then what stops the Spino from coming back as well?
that is true! gj i would have never thought of that
The fact that its dead
DiddleDorp how do you know he’s dead? If you’re talking about that skeleton in JW then yeah you got the wrong Spino. It’s shorter and the bone structure is nothing like the JP3 Spino.
@@ORIGINALFBI he even explanied it in one of his other vidoes
@@elementaljedi9335 Because of the DPG Website they have a list of extinct dinos and the Spino is on it. Where do you think they got most of the dinos for Jurassic World? They went to Site B to get them.
You’ll probably never see this Klayton but can I just say how much I appreciate you giving so many comments hearts. It might just be those people who get notifications, but I feel like such a little thing shows support for all types of opinions in the fandom. Just wanted to say thank you for that.
Dang I got scared when the spuno roared in the beginning
The Spinosaurus is one of my favorite dinosaurs, even tho people might not like Jurassic Park 3. It will still be one of my favorite movies. I’m a Jurassic Park fan.
I like the Spino over Rexy tbh I wish we could’ve seen more of it
Very interesting discussion!

Finally a video about me!!!!
Spined Boi where u come from then?
Country_Rex a lab.
I watched early on today JPIII, and look now comes a video of this movie main antagonist! Thats cool!
Its said to not be by the spfx crew but theres no real answer
no, it's not the baby trex from the lost world, it's just another adult trex.
I was born into JP3 (born just over a month after the film) so the Spinosaurus holds a very special place in my heart, considering it was the face on all merchandise at the time. Since then I've always been a massive fan, and would love to see it return, even if it isn't the exact same one from JP3.
So spino was not fully grown
Edit:it was actually
@David Gardner than they would all die at beginning of movie and would break that door and rip t Rex head now imagine if it was Godzilla size and strength and could breath fire
Where you’re sources and where is also you’re actual canon proof that it was a juvenile and Spinosaurus the king he didn’t even show actual canon proof
@@redx3816 dude i know it ain't juvenile this comment was 1 year ago lol

As always, this is another great video!
the trex in jp3 is adult, it's a full grown bull trex.
All I want is the Spinosaurus to return as the main dinosaur villain for JW3 and that way the Trex can have her final long awaited rematch with it.
Except Rexy from Jurassic Park isn't the same from the T rex in Jurassic Park III. So it wouldn't be a rematch.
I would be happy if it was back on the big screen once more
@@thelephant I'd like to see it as well, have it team up with Rexy to take on the military or the Police or something.
@@honeyfrost3355 that would be awesome
The abomination that destroyed a whole ecosystem
Probably didn't destroy everything there was thousands and thousands of dinosaurs on the isla sorna
Hmm, perfect description for Indominus Rex.
Never really liked how long the Spinosaurus's snout was. Just not a very cool looking dinosaur.
I always thought the sail looked silly on it, the head never bothered me.
But it is accurate to how an actual Spinosaurus looks, so it wasn´t like they could change that, despite giving it long legs, which is inaccurate.
@@ShadowCim Yes, I guess it has accuracy going for it. You could say it's on the right side of history, that is prehistory.
ShadowCim considering it has frog dna and other dna inside it and possibly features of multiple dinosaurs the long legs make sense
Klayton I don't think I'm alone in saying I'd LOVE to see you play Dino Crisis... I'm a huge fan of your let's plays for JWE JPT and JPTG

I STILL REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST SAW JP3 WHEN I FIRST EARLY ON OWNED THE MOVIE ON VHS.
I WOULD GO ON REPEATEDLY WATCH THE FILM AND AT THIS AGE AND THE ONE THING
I LOVED WAS DINOSAURS TO NO END.
THE REASON BEING
THAT LIFE FOUND A WAY AND SOMETHING HAS SURVIVED.
@Klayton Fioriti
Allosaurus is my all time favorite dinosaur..
That dinosaur was my childhood. Rewatched this movie on my parents TV constantly.
Thanks for another great JP commentary! I'm Team T. Rex, while my mother is Team Spino...somehow, we miraculously still get along quite well...🤔
I saw this movie back in 2003 when it came out on DVD. I was about 20 years old when I watched it so i remembered it well. In fact I still have the DVD in my folder here at home.
