This is the new link for the explore section of my website. Also kicker key amplifiers are in stock as of this reply oct 2023. plugnplaykits.com/products/factory-base-model-non-amplified-radio-plug-n-play-audio-harnesses-kits?variant=43110353240254
Glad I found your video. Ive only ever really messed with aftermarket radios that already have remote out and rca outputs and wasn't looking forward to splicing in the speaker wire to rca converter in my 17 explorer and figuring out a remote wire so your kicker sub harness kit will make things easy and clean. I'll buy one whenever I figure out what sub system I'll be putting in. Thanks
so this set up would amplify the vehicle speakers? Is there one that would do that as well as add sub? would that require an additional amp, and how much does something like that cost?
I like the idea with the Velcro. Then it got me thinking. one time,I velcro'ed some thing to my dash in my semi truck and it got too hot and it let go, and it was 3M.
from where u get the constant power for amp, I take it from the fuse box but it doesn't work, it doesn't turn off when you remove the key Help please ! I'm mean remote wire for amp
What does that amp do and what do I do if I just want to add a high to low level output box to give me some outputs to run RCA's back to an amp for some subs?
@Armando Problemas you have an Explorer? Did you upgrade the factory speakers? I have the one with the large screen but not the Sony system. My wife drives it mostly and just wants more bass so I was going to put a single 12 in so she still has cargo space, but I haven't really done car audio for 20 years so all the new heavily integrated OE head units are new to me and I just want to get to even some high level outputs to tap in at.
@Armando Problemas is the 19 the new body style? I looked up the factory speakers sizes on my 2016 and it's just showing a 3.5" in the center dash. 6x9's in the front doors, 6.5's in the rear doors and 3.5's in the D pillars. I'll probably just pop the head unit out and do some exploring on the harness with a small speaker to see where I get signals once I figure out the power and grounds. Either that or just go to the rear doors and tap in there and run high signals to the amp. I'm not going to go too crazy with it since we want to get rid of it in a few years.
@Armando Problemas I could see them trying to pass a 3.5 off as a sub. I feel most of the bass coming in by my legs though so it's the 6x9's trying to do all the heavy lifting now.. I think the 3.5 in the dash is just for center fill I'm hoping. If you're ditching the 6x9's I wonder if there is space for a 5.25, a 3.5 and a 1" tweeter if you make a custom mounting place. I should stop before this turns into a huge project like my Jimmy did. I just wanted to replace the blown oem speakers in the door and it turned into a complete system.
I wanna do this setup for my 2018 explorer but i also noticed you offer a hideaway sub. What is the process for connecting that kicker sub 46hs10 model? does it require more wires or another amp? what kit would be the one to add the harness, amp and sub? @plugnplaykits

This amp is now the new kicker key 200.4 same install
Does the kicker 200.4 also fit between radio and 8inch screen like the pioneer?
