Great song, you need to hear John Mayall's original of this song back in the 60s with Peter Green on lead guitar, it is mind blowing for a release in its time and he just influenced so many, awesome musician. Just before Peter, he had Eric Clapton on guitar back in the 'Clapton is God' days, all that stuff is worth looking into. I saw John in the 70s and he tore it up. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
❤ Gary. The best ever. John Mayall has been around for many many years The father of British blues. First album with the Bluesbreakers in 1966. Lead guitarist one Mr. Eric Clapton. You have a lot to catching up to do on the John Mayall front. He had a huge influence on blues/rock music. Cheers and regards from England. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
Real blues comes from the heart and soul. Anyone can sing the blues but it doesn't come from the same place for everyone. It's not only sung, it is felt by true bluesmen and women. Peace out.
John Mayall is considered The Godfather of British Blues. Thats Buddy Wittington sharing guitar duties with Gary. Buddy is no slouch. Mayall is very good at bringing in the best to his band.
Buddy Whittington on the other guitar is a Texan and one of the best I've been privileged to see/hear. He's also the longest serving guitarist of Johns' bluesbreakers. John M really has the position of the Godfather of British white blues and the inspiration of so many artists and the conduit of the greatest number of talented musicians ever to inspire future rock/blues generations, and as such should be revered for his massive contribution to music. Suffice to say without him the blues as we know it with todays artists may well have gone by the wayside decades ago. He truly is the saviour of the greatest music ever heard.
That's John Mayall on keyboards and vocals, he's 89 and still tours. He's had lot's of great musicians in his band including Eric Clapton who joined after he left the Yardbirds on 1965.
John Mayall a pioneer in the blue to rock transition. Started listening to him on his Bare Wires album and got hooked. This is one of my favorites songs by him ; however be sure to check out this song titled: " Blues for the Lost Days" on the album of the same title. It's a story in 6 minutes.
I got to see Mayall at the Fillmore in SF. A lot of guitar greats passed thru his band. Peter Green - cofounder of Fleetwood Mac, John McVie of Fleetwood Mac , Mick Taylor of The Rolling Stones and more. John Mayall was also a master blues harmonica player.
Thank you for another great blues reaction video. Although John Mayall is a wonderful performer on his own, I think he is probably best known for the amazing number of British blues musicians he has mentored through his band. Some of the most famous future ex-members are Eric Clapton &Jack Bruce (Cream), Peter Green, John McVie & Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones) and Aynsley Dunbar, and many other lesser known, but talented artists. Mayall goes way back to the early 60's and IMO should be considered a foundational artist for the great British Blues/Rock movement. Thanks to whoever suggested this🙏
@@realbser1956 You requested this? It looks like we have similar taste. I'm pretty passionate about rock history and have done alot of studying of this era. My favorite time and place in rock history is 1963-1973 in Britain. What an explosion of talent and innovation. I love to share some of the factoids that are buzzing around in my head. I am as fascinated by the stories behind the artists as the music itself. I hope I don't come off as a know it all, cause I certainly am not. So much to learn yet... BTW - did you request the Savoy Brown ? I thought it must be one of my friends, but they deny it... I am very curious🤔🤩
@@cindyfalstrom7231 My pleasure. I enjoy classic rock, Prog rock, blues, soul, r&b and most of all jazz, in all its forms. So you keep up with the blues and I’ll keep up with the jazz.
Great pick. You need to look into Peter Green. Gary Moore was influenced by Peter Green. Also look into Danny Kirwan, Peter Green’s protege in Fleetwood Mac. Then Play On was the only album where Peter and Danny played together.
As already said, almost every top british blues guitarist at some time or other played in John Mayalls blues breakers, from Eric Clapton to Mick Taylor to Peter Green. In fact the original version of this song by John Mayall, featured Peter Green and ironically he would have been playing the same guitar that Gary Moore is playing here as Peter Green gave Gary Moore this famous Les Paul guitar
Now, this is the kind of stuff I look for from reactors. Thank you Chod! When you find and present something I may have overlooked or just outright missed, it just makes me smile. Great stuff here!
Thank you so much for doing a reaction to this. I played this very version on my phone and put it on my dad’s pillow as he was dying nearly 2 years ago. Such comfort to me ❤
I’ve actually suggested this song to you before, and I’m so glad you discovered it. Always wanted to see your face as you heard it: the look of joy and appreciation of great musicians!
Enjoyed your listen and review brother. Not an expert on British blues but I know enough to know that John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers are one of the early pioneers of the genre. This is an older Mayall but he still sounds good and what else can be said about Gary Moore that has not been said already? Legends to the right and left of center stage on this one Chod. Great reaction. Thank you! 🔥
I like John Mayall and have some late 60's and 70's vinyls but I didn't know this song and tip my (non-existent) hat to this great performance - all thumbs up! Gary Moore (RIP) is doing a great job as always. Unfortunately I don't know the other guitarist, what a great solo and a cool sock anyway. Presents a great solo and then sneaks secretly to the drummer. He's really great, I love it ! Thanks for sharing this very cool blues musicians and best regards from hamburg (germany)
Great reaction love to see you do another British singer Courtney hadwin you're just released her new single breakable is her first released after a contract dispute she is now an independent great video great song being Independence you can use all the help she can get thanks man
You can't react to this and not react to Gary Moore and John Mayall doing the song "If I Don't Get Home". It is a studio recording so we can't watch them play but it is freaking awesome!
Way more interesting/engaging than Eddie VH. Sure EVH can shred faster, but does not have the soul of a true bluesman. Once you “get it”, you recognize it even if you can’t describe it. I definitely like EVH, but THIS HERE is not his specialty.
Completely off the subject and I apologize but can you please listen to some more John Mayer? You listen to him about a year ago and he's freaking amazing❤ I know you would enjoy him. I would probably suggest Neon live or anything off from continuum

Gary Moore Stockholm 1987 live EMPTY ROOMS IS LEGENDARY.

Here is a quote from the great Mahalia Jackson - "Anyone who sings the blues is in a deep pit yelling for help"

This is my first time seeing this. I didn’t know Gary Moore did this with John Mayall. What a great pairing! 😮
Some refer to that type of voice as "High Lonesome"...
R.I.P Gary, You're Still The Best...💯💔🙏
And unfortunately John, now.🙄

Coco Montoya played with him for 10 yrs. Clapton for a bit.
Eric Clapton as well

Without folks like Mayall, Alex Korner and Cyril Davies there would be no British Super Groups of the later 60's!!
F A C T !💯 👋😎👍
This was some serious down home blues. From the vocals to the instruments this was🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Chod! Loved it!
Now, this is the kind of stuff I look for from reactors. Thank you Chod! When you find and present something I may have overlooked or just outright missed, it just makes me smile. Great stuff here!
more people need to listen to John Mayall....................he is a godsend for all lovers of the Blues
gary moore-cold black night-live
Spot on analysis...some heavy weight preformers here...we are blessed to access such material....Ty brother Tod for this!
Thank you so much for doing a reaction to this.
I played this very version on my phone and put it on my dad’s pillow as he was dying nearly 2 years ago. Such comfort to me ❤
So sad... I did the same thing with my son, only it was "I call my baby diamond" by Rick Derringer. Nick was 43.
I’ve actually suggested this song to you before, and I’m so glad you discovered it. Always wanted to see your face as you heard it: the look of joy and appreciation of great musicians!
You’re right- John and Boz Scaggs sound similar and that is the same melody as Loan Me A Dime !
The other guitar player is Buddy Whittington. John Mayall is on vocals and keys.

It is so ironic something called the Blues gives you such enjoyment

Damn I love the blues!
Room To Move.
Glad you reacted to this video. Double shot of whiskey, and a zig zag king full of green. Doesn't sound any better.✌️
You MUST listen to John's "Jazz Blues Fusion" live album. Great video, thanks!
Lol, I think you're the only one that's actually don a reaction of them, let alone even knew that they existed.
Great reaction love to see you do another British singer Courtney hadwin you're just released her new single breakable is her first released after a contract dispute she is now an independent great video great song being Independence you can use all the help she can get thanks man
I saw in an earlier video the you really enjoy listening to the keyboards. Have you ever reacted to Leon Russell?
You should check out The Last Time, by John Mayall and Walter Trout, fanyastic blues guitar by Walter......
You need to check out his 70's Birthday Bash with Mick Taylor Live
Hendrix, Vaughn, Moore, Lee, Clapton and Santana.......
John Mayall is great and did some classic crossover...try Jazz/Blues Fusion
Check out Room to Move by John Macallan. One of my faves.
Sounds like Johns sings much better than he used to.
didn't you do ROOM TO MOVE by may all he was singing with harmonica
Deep Dive on John Mayall's Bluesbreakers on the Menu ?
Sure seems to be a reasonable hunch ...
His voice sounds like Joe Bonamassa's. Actually, vice versa.
Awesome stuff! Gary Moore is intense.
You need to listen to the original Bluesbreakers album
The voice you think you hear Boz Skaggs
You can't react to this and not react to Gary Moore and John Mayall doing the song "If I Don't Get Home". It is a studio recording so we can't watch them play but it is freaking awesome!
just fyi.i know you like reese wynans from srv.hes also on Joe Bonamassas different shades of blue cd n a couple of his live cds.
