I never seen this show at all as a kid, this looks like early adventure time. I always love these classics anyway.

Well those Bloonywoonies getting shot by the dozen with arrows and popping with the sound of gunshots is a little disturbing.

These folks always reminded me of the Loons from the Land of Oz, also a balloon people (who were constantly getting punctured and repaired, thus had many "warts"). At least the Bloonies were friendly - and as a result, when *they* got punctured, help was quick to come! And as a result, Our Heroes managed to secure themselves their very own B-Liner.

This was DePatie-Freleng's third cartoon series, following the success of NBC's
"THE SUPER SIX" (1966) and the less then successful "SUPER PRESIDENT"
(1967) "HERE COMES THE GRUMP" debuted in Fall 1969,and was up against
stiff competition from CBS's "THE ARCHIE COMEDY HOUR" and "SCOOBY DOO,WHERE ARE YOU?",and ABC's "THE HARDY BOYS","THE CATTANOOGA
CATS SHOW" and "SKYHAWKS". this was also the last DePatie-Freleng series that Mirisch did, shortly after Lee Rich, previously of Mirisch-Rich Prods. later went on to found Lorimar Productions.

+joe hill But DePatie-Freleng did "The Pink Panther" without Mirisch, and that had a lot of fans.

I think this was the first Saturday morning cartoon right after the test pattern ended. I was sitting in front of the tv about 3 feet from the screen at 6 AM waiting for this to broadcast every Saturday morning. The cartoons didn’t stop until noon. What wonderful memories of those carefree days. I still think this is suitable for kids but it would probably have a disclaimer about being too violent and making fun of certain groups of people.

I agree with everything you say, except the part about violence and making fun of ethnic groups. I have autism-spectrum disorder, and I couldn’t stand ANY change in the lovely art I grew up with! Watching this didn’t make YOU violent or prejudice, did it? Then it wouldn’t do that to TODAY’s kids, either.

Brings back so many childhood memories and good times that my mother Gloria Martin, raised and took strong and appreciated care of her two small children, Carrie Martin and Darrell Martin, Love You Gloria Martin, and can not wait to be reunited when our LORD, GOD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST , come back because I want my real inheritance that is promised to us. Not the fake one that comes from man. That's right our real inheritance is everlasting life, our real big gigantic house with all the lavish of gold diamonds, and technology. With JESUS CHRIST's promises we are always going to build, it is never going to stop and it is free. Do you want perished gold or eternal gold. Do not be a fool and choose the wrong gold that has no value, choose the real gold that has value. The new world is not going to be boring. Why do we say thank you lord for waking us up for another day because someone did not wake up. Why would one thank GOD for waking them up for another day of chaos, depression, hunger ,and all of the macabre evil and wickedness of our daily surrounding lives?, after you prayed and ask him to deliver us from all these unholy false truths of the world. Therefore, what I am saying is that when I wake up I thank GOD for being our GOD who is going to deliver us up from all of negative woes of the world because we all have to die first in order to thank him for another day of his everlasting life. One day with GOD is a thousands years. Just like when the Mellinmenun came , more than half of the world did not and do not know what a millimion is... ..., it is a thousand years. CHRIST said I will be back in the new milliminion, do the math. I apologize for misspelling the word milinion. But back to waking us up to live another day in this dumb ass government world. In my conclusion; is our FARTHER who art in HEAVAN howlled be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is HEAVEN, look at it thy will be done on earth as it is in HEAVEN, that is what we should thank him for. If ye thank him for another day on this earth ,then you like this earth and everything evil about it and you are happy that he woke you up and you are scared to die, you do not want what he promised us. CHRIST died for us and we have to die too ,so we can receive our real inheritance. Think about it

Those balloon people had no better weapons than fake guns with corks and "bang" flags? It's a wonder nobody else conquered them earlier.

I am still amaze that This Whole Show is a ripped off of Knighty Knight Bugs. You can tell just by comparing it with this and the cartoon. Mostly The Grump is based on Yosamite Sam along with the dragon.
