The other alternative route to my knowledge is to wait until you are handed off to various creditors, once that has happened and the original lender has taken a loss on his taxes and sold off to a creditor, you are no longer bound by your original contract and can get what I believe is called a "Charge off" or something like that.

Appleby’s Travel videos you are wrong, it is called “credit bust out” and if they can prove that you did that, you can be charged with a crime. It is the same concept of bankruptcy fraud...if you charged up a bunch of debt right before your bankruptcy, you can be charged with a crime.
Appleby’s Travel videos i do this for a living, i am a chief compliance officer for a financial company and also a JD, bar passed in Illinois and New York. You are simply describing the statute of limitations for charge offs, judgements and bankruptcies. You also do not mention any of the intricacies of those laws, which, can turn 7 years into a lifetime, if you attempt to pay, it restarts that time frame. Liens can be placed on your assets, wages can be garnished, etc...
Credit Bust Out is a fraud, and is a crime, and you can absolutely be charged and arrested. Additionally, bankruptcy fraud is a crime. A judge has to review your bankruptcy, all of your assets, etc. If they see that you applied for a bunch of credit right before or even during the bankruptcy proceedings, you can be charged with a crime.
You are correct that we do not have “debtors prisons” anymore in this country, but that does not mean we do not punish people for fraudulent behavior.

It works. It's definitely not fraud. After a certain amount of time the original creditors sell ur debt to a collection agency at a major discount. After a certain amount of time this collection agency will sell ur debt to another agency at another large discount. Usually by the time they have sold ur debt off a couple times the it's not even worth the hassle of entering the process with a legal team that is focused on getting the debt wiped clean. If the legal team requests the original paperwork that was written up with initial creditor and it isn't supplied in 30 days the legal team presents the evidence to the credit bureaus and that's how it gets wiped off. A bit of a loophole, but certainly not fraud.
During those years that you do that - your credit will suffer horribly... keep that in mind
