Great video and all such helpful tips! Love your videos and appreciate all your advice! Now excuse me while I go Amazon prime an acrylic scraper and metal turn table. 😂
I really enjoyed this video, Emily! I love how detailed you are in explaining things and I definitely need to invest in a better turntable and scraper, as you demonstrated!! 😊🙏🏽🇨🇦
Thank you for this video, it was really helpful! I'm usually one to go for cheaper options but I see how they can set me back from achieving great cakes. For example, I've been using a lazy Susan as a turntable but now I'm gonna invest in a metal turntable. Love the stencil ideas too🤗
Great advice. I started with the cheaper options, but they really are a waste when you realise the splurge options work better. As a novice, I should have started with quality to improve faster. I also buy "green" piping bags as I go through a lot & trying to cut back landfill waste. Great video 🏆
An acrylic cake comb! However I am at a cross road now wondering whether I should get the acrylic or the stainless steel comb. As you have mentioned in your video on cake combs that it’s the most sturdy. Really enjoyed this video, Emily, thank you!
I'm happy you liked the video! In case it's helpful, my personal preference is an acrylic comb comb to smooth frosting and metal combs for textured frosting!
I have a Christmas wish list that I've made available to family members, full of baking and cake decorating equipment! And a stainless steel scraper/smoother is one of the items on there. There's lots of things that aren't too expensive too, for those relatives on budget but who really want to give you something. Like I've asked for some specific piping tips that I don't have, or in a size I don't currently have. And sprinkles are always welcome gifts!
Thanks for the video. I have now bought a metal turntable and an acrylic smoother. Looking forward to try it next to compare as it takes me longer with the plastic ones. Also where do u buy the lovely stencils for buttercream as I am struggling to find them here in the UK.
Metal scrapers are great too! My personal favourite is acrylic but everyone has different preferences. Metal scrapers are long-lasting and very popular!
I really love your videos.. I've learnt a lot. Will soon start cake decorations😊. Please can you make a video on how to price cakes? I'm in Nigeria, so if it's possible to make the pricing guide easy to calculate in different currencies.. Thank you❤️❤️
Can't imagine how piping tips and bags are an "option". I'm not a professional cake decorator but these items are not expensive. If you're going to take the time to decorate, at least use it good tools. On the other hand, I have a sturdy, plastic turntable. Seldom have I ever needed a perfectly smooth icing. I do it for the enjoyment and as a gift for the person.

The one on the right wirh the more detailed floral heart looks like it can be more expensive but material wise probably a bit cheaper

As someone who got the stainless steel comb, please do get it! It's really sharp and very sturdy; no chance of damaging it
@@lucyheartfilia2015 ahh thanks so much💗

Thank u so much u r incredible
Aw thank you so much!
Oh I always get those stupid vertical lines when I use my plastic cake spinner. It's so frustrating! I definitely need to get a metal one
Its such a small change but makes such a big difference!
First comment! They both look really good but i prefer the expensive cause its more worth it
I love that stencil design and decorating with the expensive tools feels easier, too
I think the cheapest one is the one with the triangle and the more expensive is the one is the stencil .

hi how do you get the tips in the pipping bag.
There's a step by step demonstration at the beginning of this video on piping bag hacks: ruclips.net/video/XYc7vqHtmUk/видео.html

Higher quality, more expensive turntable is worth the price.
