I implore people to listen to Cooper’s Fear & Loathing in the New Jerusalem podcast. It's a series of stories that give homage to the Jewish and Palestinian peoples. He is fair - he doesn’t pull a punch - both for the people of history as well as the horrors he poses to us, but is also inhibited from spending time on achievements and acts of bravery. He has done a great service to us secular Western cultural Christians in providing context and perspective; he requests that we close our eyes, take their place, and feel. There is a rise of antisemitism, but I can assure you, Cooper’s work attempts to crush it because he indirectly deflates the conspiracies that surround it. He’s on the team of humanity and truth. The British are mad with his analysis, okay, wouldn't be the first time they were mad at one of our own speaking truth to power. We Americans should be supporting and propping him up. Furthermore, he answers a lot of the questions posed here in his latest episode.
Noam’s new to me, and I can appreciate how he isn’t indulging in knee jerk reactions re Cooper’s Tweets. Willingness and capability to look below the surface is rare as hen’s teeth. Cooper isn’t afraid to take another look at our history. My Jewish history professor in 1968 taught me to stop seeing historical figures as heroes and villains. One of the families of the hostages who was killed in captivity by Hamas, recently said that the six hostages would still be alive if the negotiated return that was on the table for over two months had been reached, but didn't because of "delays, sabotage and excuses." Hostage families aren't vindicating Hamas for killing hostages, but what is the explanation from the other parties for failing to get them home?

I'll watch this, but can't help but conclude from past few days that Noam is full of it. Martyr Made isn't some well-meaning iconoclast groping in his own idiosyncratic way toward truth. He clearly has a malicious agenda and tells blatant lies in the service of it (as many responses to his recent Tucker appearance have made clear). Noam just acts like an accessory with nitpicking around the edges over trivial details and they both act so civil and polite while the main thrust of Daryl's antisemitism and anti-liberalism gets a pass. There's no virtue in staying on cordial terms with evil people--all the BS about "I learn so much", "it keeps me honest", "I like to see the good in people" just increasingly feels like lame rationalization for an ugly method of self-promotion.
@comedycellarclips BTW, I have zero interest in self-promotion. You might not understand that about me. I "met" Darryl and appreciated his work. If you research it, you'd see that I was the one who sharply challenged him on many of the tweets he's not getting criticized for. I did it when no one was focused on it. I never once went easy on him.
You wrote two paragraphs calling someone a liar but never bothered pointing out a lie. You also called Mr. Cooper an anti-semite which is a blatant lie.
@@comedycellarclips After I poking around a bit, I see I was wrong about accusing you of being interested in self-promotion. Sorry. Challenging him on specific tweets is different than challenging his whole shtick. What motivates him to minimize the malice of the Nazis? To gratuitously make a comparison between Nazis and Israel's actions in Gaza? Mike Doran (Hudson Institute) devoted last bit of recent "Israel Update" podcast to Darryl. He said he's been following him for some time because he thinks the rise of people like him in social media harbors something really pernicious. Anyway, he does think he's as much of a deranged antisemite as Candace Owens, just with a soothing, scholarly, measured persona.

I only lament that these voices are heard regularly on his show, which gives them a certain acceptance. I 've never accused him of being any kind of bigot. On the contrary, I'm sure he's not.
Did you watch?
