There's hype beast, there's sneakerheads, or simply just love shoes thru aesthetics, but man, Chris you different from all the content creator out there on RUclips. The story and history with all the shoes you do reviews on are far from anyone else. Keep up the good work. Love your work. God bless
I currently have 24 pairs of sneakers mostly Jordan’s that I wear/collect and keep super clean. But that number is growing as I buy a couple pairs each month. I started less than a year ago collecting Jordans and other premium sneakers. I buy and wear them to go out somewhere nice with my wife each weekend and I collect based on the shoes I always wanted when I was a kid. My parents only ever bought me 1 pair of Jordans when I was in middle school back in late 80’s to early 90’s time period. I grew up when Jordan was playing. I’m 46 years old
I gotta say I’ve been watching you for a long time (like 2012 kinda long time…) and I never get bored or teacher/historian Chris when you talk about shoes. Thank you for the education and great memories from you both ❤

@@mrxiro we didn't troll our classmate regarding fashion. we just thought he was joking or lying because he got j14 early while mj still wearing j13 in the first games of the finals. we now laugh at it thinking how it was back then. 😂
Whole time bro had more money than y’all and copped them before anybody else had em, yet y’all trolled him, he should’ve been trolling you brokeys lol 🤦♂️
Love the thorough review, even if Chris believes he’s rambling. He’s still the only one doing more than superficial reviews. Keep up the great work you two!
Besides wearing the Last Shots, Oxidized Greens, and Candy Canes (the latter two during basketball camps and practice sessions), MJ actually wore these for the opening shot for his 1999 IMAX documentary.
Yoooo I was literally just thinking “where did I see MJ in these if he’d only ever worn the last shots on court”. Michael Jordan to the Max!! Great call.
my FIRST pair of Js (3rd grade - I’m 34 now) . My pops bought me the whole jumpsuit to go with it . I wore that jumpsuit with the shoes everyday . Man - what I’d do to go back in time . I’m grabbing these just cuz of the nostalgia .
I had these in middle school. 8th grade. First pair of Jordans i ever owned and my mom surprised me with them and the first day i wore them to school, first period I'm sitting in class when over the intercoms the principle announces "to any student wearing or owning the new Michael Jordan shoes they are not allowed to be worn to school or school events do to gang violence." Because of the "XIV" on the shoe. (Tongue and bottom of shoe) I grew up in East San Jose, Ca. And needless to say not the best, or safest neighborhood. Gotta love the Bay Area California. I still rocked them!! Moved to Sactown in the 9th grade the year after where i still reside. HALLA AT YA BOY CHRIS!! From one fellow Chris to another. I was ready to take a bullet for them!! Lol oh to be young and carefree. Still 1 of my top 3 favorite shoes off all time.
Currently have around 60 pairs of sneakers. Mostly Jordans, Kobe's and LeBron. I remember mom buying the Black Toe 14s in elementary school. Then when they retroed back 05' (My HS Graduation) I was able to snag 3 pairs off a Champs Sports employee discount. When I got to college, my school was sponsored by Nike and my coach let us wear whatever Nikes/Jordans we wanted. Played in this pair my Senior Yr and the memories in those shoes. Will always have a special place in my collection forever. Nike needs to retro the White/Carolina Eastbay Exclusives ASAP! I'm 37
I can always count on Chris coming through with the history of the OG AJ’s! I also love how you dissect the midsoles so we all know what we’re walking on! 👌👍
I still have my Black Toes from '06 when there were priced at $150. Worn them everytime I balled. Still have them along with my obsidian blue 12's and all black 7 retros (my 7's never been worn and still have the original shoe horns in them).
I have about 50 pairs. Right now my favorites are my 2 pairs of Jordan 3s. White cement from last year and A Ma Maniere black cement from this year. Nothing is too expensive. I have some unworn A Ma Maniere 5s in the black dusk color way that might be worth more than the other worn shoes.
I remember seeing these on "Michael Jordan To The Max" and wanting them. They weren't in stores but I saw a pair of sneakers at Walmart where the toe box looked similar. It hurts that they didn't do these justice!
I was really looking forward to these, but thanks Chris for the honest and excellent in-debt review! I will be passing on these. I'm tired of Jordan Brand releasing crap products and charging $215 plus for the privilege. I hope all of the highly anticipated releases of 2025 will be much better quality.
I have my grandfather’s OG Black and Red Jumpman Pros that are still wearable! I used to always snoop around his closet as a kid and out of the plethora of dress shoes he had, those brand new Jumpman pros always stood out to me and I would always ask if I could have them and he would say no until he finally let me have them 6 years ago! Very comfortable and the leather quality is unmatched🔥
Thanks for the honest review of this year's Retro of the 14BlackToe Chris. Still gotta get these originals after getting the Laneys, and this will be my last J's ever as my collection is complete(unless the 17mid College blues retro 😅). Love how coy you were on your personal collection as one of best sneakerhead channels (great question picked Mrs.Wing) & thanks for shouting out your latest TS you just got; reminds me of me and the arm & leg i also paid j to get my first one too🎉 always love & keep watching you guys
Back in 1998 these were a real problem in Sacramento especially with the XIV on them. My boy Angelo had to teach me about the numbers and the significance of them in the streets smh all I wanted was new shoes 😂...
I had these during 2006 and this is a time machine! thanks so much for this Weartesters!!! It really was different way back then when materials where OG!
Have about 30ish pairs probably 20 Of them are wearable, my all time favorite would be my 88s from 2013, most expensive pair would be my 1990 grape 5s paid 420 which is a steal
My first pair of Jordans were a pair of low top Pacific 14s( look them up) a pair that many people don’t even know exist. I hope one day they retro them so I can purchase for nostalgic purposes.
Man, I used to love when kicks came out It wasn't like it is now you can just kind of find all the information you want. You really haven't had to wait for stuff like kicks to release to see the new stuff. I loved being a sneaker head back in the day! And for anybody that hasn't played any of these things, just know these shoes are just awesome to Play in!
Those were my first pair of Air Jordans. When I got them back in 98, I babied them so much LOL, but eventually after a year and when the 15's came out, I promoted them to the court and wasn't disappointed. They were so comfortable after they broke in. Its a shame the new ones aren't up to the same quality as when they first released, because those kicks were made to last and be played hard in. There was a forest green Air Jordan 14 release back in 2004 I got from EastBay I do believe. Those bad boys would dig right into my heel, especially since I was driving a manual car and hitting the clutch, brake and gas while driving allowed these to absolutely bother the sh*t outta me.
It’s truly impressive how much you know about the behind stories and histories of all these shoes Question: growing up, did you have many different shoes or just rocked 1 pair per season like most of us? what were some shoes that you regret buying?
I have about 250+ pairs of sneakers my most worn shoes are Adidas Terrex Hiker lows and Yeezy 450 I've been watching this channel for years and the information is unmatched unfortunately y'all have changed my mind on a lot of shoes I will be Nope I'm going to pass then I'll see the review and the on foot and buy 😂 Thank you for the good content keep it up we appreciate you
Premium video as always! Sad that they didn't get this retro right - 14s are a top 3 Jordan for me and this color way is majestic. Side note: would love to know where Chris got that X-Men Beast shirt from the photo with Tinker!
Another great overall video review!! Thank you, once and again and always, to Mr. Chris and Mrs. Jodi. Very much appreciated. The Air Jordan XIV 14's are one of my favorite models, if not favorite model. I still have my original AJ 14's in all the original colorways both mid and low top.. I had the 2006 AJ 14 "black toe" version but, sold it a long time ago. Still have my 2014 AJ 14 "Black Toe" retros, and most of the recent 14 retros of the original and new colorways, and they are all still in excellent shape. Hope to pick a pair, or two, of this colorway.
They fire in person glad my wife grabbed me a pair but man that original suede black toe would have been insane but I’m sure that would go over the production budget
Favorite Sneaker: Jordan 13 He Got Game # of Sneakers: Around 300 pairs (mostly inspired by you) Most Expensive Pair: Original 1995 Penny 1s away colorway I'd love to see a behind the scenes tour of all your Sneakers and where/how u keep them. Much love from San Antonio, TX!
So you and I share some history here, Chris. I bought these on release day and wore them out on the court. LOVED them. My wife asked me the other day "Why didn't you hold onto the originals if you loved them so much?" (I am known to keep my shoes forever) and I seriously considered not speaking to her for a while, because not keeping my 14s is one of my biggest sneaker regrets. ALSO, I grew up in Utah and was fortunate beyond measure to have attended the Last Shot game of the Finals. As a Jazz fan it was devastating, but you knew you were witnessing something that would be talked about forever. Anyway, going to pick up AT LEAST 2 pairs of these.
Just got mine from the raffle and these fit way better then the winterized those were awful about size and miles apart from the original look these fit like my old originals and they look correct from the Birds Eye look that we all love about 14s and the quality is pretty nice to me and it looks like the whole shoe has a little pearlescent look at least mine do 🙌🏻👍🏻✌🏻🤘🏻
i had those when they came out back in the day. They are comfy as and on focuses on you being sharp in every step that you make the air vent cools the foot down pretty good in my opinion they better than the black ''last shot'' even though back then i was disapointed because the black version got sold out i tend to believe that this one is better because they arent any of that excess leather shit on the sides i got em in 98 in a long shoe shopping across the city NICE FIND
Favourite: absolutely thrashed Shattered Backboard 3.0, with the shiny top-coat gone there amazing. Most expensive : (according to StockX) Kobe 6 Del Sol. Number : 100-120
The toe cap being synthetic suede was the final deal breaker on this shoe (Jordan 14) the Least Jordan Brand could have done was given us nubuck for the prices they keep charging. Here's hoping the next release of the Final Shot 14s are at least real leathers suede and regular leather and a better insoles. Thanks for the review hopefully whoever wants these can get them.
Yes sir🫡 still have the 1999 J14 low unc color way. My favorite J’s are the Chicago 1’s. My 👟 collection is about 300 pairs mostly J’s. Most expensive that I bought is the TS fragment highs. Thanks for the informative review💯🙌🏼
Man, this is probably the third or fourth time I've watched this video. Maybe more... But it just makes me want to get the two-tone black and red laces for these... It makes me wish foot locker still sold laces in store
I had those jumpman pros just to ball in on the weekends. One day I giant brawl broke out and a bunch of us got locked up and my parents were away on vacation and I couldn't bail out of jail for a entry week but that entire week I spent fighting for my basic ass jumpmans but I gained a new kinda respect for the bred jumpman pros and they will always hold a special spot in my collection 😂😂😂
QOTD: I don't have much of a collection anymore. It's probably about 15 pairs today. Everything gets worn. The most valuable pair is the Driveway Grey Nigel Sylvester Jordan 4 RM. At its peak(s) my collection was probably around 400-500 pairs. 14s are tricky for me. I think they're among the best Jordans to play in, both as an original release and as retros today, but for casual wear I just don't find them good looking at all--especially not with the C-tier materials they're going with lately. The choice to not use premium materials really ignores the history of the Jordan line after the first retirement. Thanks for the review! All my algorithm homework is turned in, so I'll see you next time.
I remember working at Foot Locker my senior year in 98, we got 1 size run and to my demise the 11.5 came defective so I never bought them. I do remember the midsole being more of a pearl white almost eggshell iridescent vs white like these. 🤷 Definitely will still try for the W since it will be my first time owning this colorway.
Great review. Lot of detail in that shoe. If one ya’lls little nightwings picks up the Jordan 4 Platinum Gold, I’d love hear thoughts since Christmas shopping is in full force right now. 1. I have 11 pairs of sneakers. 2. My favorite is my Jordan 1 Retro Origin Story from Into the Spiderverse 3.That’s probably my most expensive too.
Currently I have exactly 50 pairs of J’s lol a lot of them I did get on sale so it wasn’t crazy expensive, this is also over the years, my most expensive were the military black Jordan’s 4’s which was $410 and my favorite has gotta be the jordan4 thunders
It will forever intrigue me why JB/Nike wouldn't be like ok so Chris we need you as an advisor... it would do nothing but benefit them. You have probably forgotten more than some employees know about their product no shade... I do got to get these tho💪🏾🏀
My favourite pair: air Max 720 Saturn Miami Vice colorway (these things are absolutely gorgeous - they just look like the future) How many: I probably have about 50 - nothing crazy but a decent amount Most expensive: I have a pair of Lost and found AJ1s that my wife bought me but my most expensive retail pair would be the WOW10
I currently own around 47 pairs of kicks. My most expensive pair would have to be the black pinnacle 9s aka the baseball glove 9s 🔥 my favorite pairs I own would have to be either my university blue 4s, confetti 8s, or j balvin 2s! I get so many compliments on my 2s where I live 😂 got the fear 4s on the way so they’re bound to make that list!
God damn....these were the 1st pair of Js I bought with my own money. Strolling through the Nike outlet they were onsale for maybe $70. Wore them to school and work until they fell apart lol.

Thanks for the history lesson great video
Our pleasure!
These were my favorite Jordans to hoop in ever.
Love love love the black and yellow that came up in the video
Great review. Lot of detail in that shoe. If one ya’lls little nightwings picks up the Jordan 4 Platinum Gold, I’d love hear thoughts since Christmas shopping is in full force right now.
1. I have 11 pairs of sneakers.
2. My favorite is my Jordan 1 Retro Origin Story from Into the Spiderverse
3.That’s probably my most expensive too.
Jordan brand should drop the “retro” tag and start calling them reps, if they can’t trace a shoe from the 90s lol
Excellent job. My faves? OG Chicago 2s…easy! Most expensive? Royal blue foamposites.
Fave sneaker: any of the MB .01
Number of sneakers I own: 75 and counting
Most Expensive: Kazuya Foamposite
Bonus Favorite Jordan’s: Any 13
Currently I have exactly 50 pairs of J’s lol a lot of them I did get on sale so it wasn’t crazy expensive, this is also over the years, my most expensive were the military black Jordan’s 4’s which was $410 and my favorite has gotta be the jordan4 thunders
The 06 pair w the texture looks best
It will forever intrigue me why JB/Nike wouldn't be like ok so Chris we need you as an advisor... it would do nothing but benefit them. You have probably forgotten more than some employees know about their product no shade... I do got to get these tho💪🏾🏀
My favourite pair: air Max 720 Saturn Miami Vice colorway (these things are absolutely gorgeous - they just look like the future)
How many: I probably have about 50 - nothing crazy but a decent amount
Most expensive: I have a pair of Lost and found AJ1s that my wife bought me but my most expensive retail pair would be the WOW10
I remember this were my first Jordan’s when I was in 7th grade in 2006😊
I have over a 100 pairs. My best is the Lebron 16 "What The". The most expensive ones in the collection are my "Year of the Dragon" AF1's.
The goat got me coming out the woodworks
I love these .. I still say Jordan brand missed when the last shots didn't release alongside the last dance
Nightwing King👑of information ! !....
Had the OG’s when I worked at Blockbuster video back in 98.
