  • I'm going to take you around the Ari neighborhood in Bangkok, Thailand. Ari is a bustling, vibrant area just north of the city center with shopping centers, street food stalls, and local markets.
You'll see all kinds of things on the way - from busy shopping centers and street food stalls to quirky streets and local markets.
The Ari BTS skytrain station is one of the highlights of the Ari neighborhood, providing easy access to many parts of the city (and a rain cover).

@@xxfreedom it's the start Soi for the road called Paholyothin. It goes all the way up north to Chiang Rai. It's also called Soi Lue-cha. :) Victory used to be a bus hub going to all directions of Bangkok. Years ago when people come to Bangkok for a better fortune, Victory monument is usually the place where they start before heading to different parts of the town. No matter where you are in Bangkok, they will be at least one bus leading you to Victory Monument.

I lived in Soi Ari for six months. My flat had no stove or a microwave. I had to use the BTS to go to Thanon Sukhumvit to find restuarants. Soi Ari has many Thai ministries - Finance, Public Relations and the Bureau of the Budget. Thereis a large Public Relations Ministry School in Soi Ari.

It's off the beaten path for most visitors, but it has come a long way and now offers everything for comfortable living and going out. Thanks for sharing your memories!

You didn't even actually hit the Ari neighborhood lol. Looks like you were mostly across the otherside of the BTS - the main Ari neighborhood is on the otherwise from Soi Ari 1 - 5. Hadn't seen what you showed on video so might check it out, but the real Ari vibe is on the other side.

Whoops! Next time I will learn about the other side, thanks!

Villa market they sell Japanese products my friend, there are more than 100,000+ Japanese populations that moved to live here in Thailand.
Yes I agree that about 25-30 years ago before they have a BTS skytrain there in Bangkok it’s more quite in some places but in some famous areas like Siam I have to say at that time it’s much more crowded my friend than nowadays because it’s the most famous meeting area for Bangkok teenagers.
    You are welcome my friend.

Thanks for your insights. Being an outsider commenter I can get things wrong sometimes, it's good to hear from someone more closely familiar with the city. 🙏
