So maybe the eyes, giant dolls and all that crazy stuff are supposed to be part of the hallucination? Although this version is quite far-fetched from the original

I truly think she is... Dessay is a proper diva of our time, an opera diva of the highest order... Precious and rare are those who can stand alongside her as the finest interpreters of this demanding role! And kudos to the director of this opera production, for not falling into the seductive pit of vulgarity, but rather keeping it on the magical (mystical) fairy-tale plane, which is so delightfully surreal, stimulating the imagination of everyone who has ever been a child, remembers it, or experienced dreams that were mixed with nightmares...
