My Grandfather served in a similiar Divison like the one you are Reenacting. 6. SS Alpen Divison they served in Norge and in Finnland. Keep up the great work. Love your vids.
@@theca558 Members of the Waffen-SS were involved in numerous atrocities.[12] At the post-war Nuremberg Trials, the Waffen-SS was judged to be a criminal organisation due to its connection to the Nazi Party and direct involvement in numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity.
@@theca558 Doesnt matter. Do you understand that germany invaded most european countries and led to the death of millions of people? It was an evil criminal state and its ideology was supported by the vast majority of german people by that time. I am certain that the popularity of the nsdap party among the ss members was even higher lol. In fact the very , 6 Alpen division was formed from the units of the SS-Totenkopfverbände (concentration camp guards). I hate the whitewashing of ww2 germans, if the ss unit formed out of the totemkopf isnt responsible for nazi atrocities, then who is?
My great grandpa fought in WW2 he was in the edelweiss and my great grandma made me goulash when I was little and it's one of my favorite things to eat
Nice to see some insight into Non-american reenacting for a change! A small question I have as me being a beginning reenactor, are the repro helmets any good?
Thank you! :) I don't know what the current quality status is for reproduction helmets, it might have improved. We only use original helmet shells in our group.
Waffen ϟϟ Soldat actually real ones can be cheaper depending on wear you get them. My brother got an original helmet for 20 US dollars at a garage sale.
@@ww2historyandreenacting in the the thumbnail there is a essenbebehaelter they come in 2 parts the main body and the internal which the food touches as you can see in the thumbnail the main body is painted and the internal is the aluminium item I’m restoring one of the food containers and I’m looking for a internal if you know where you can get them
Can you roughly sand the wehrmacht aluminum inside food container and aluminum lid with a scourer and is it poisonous to use it again or should you then sand it finely with sandpaper, someone has already done it
Goulash looked delicious. Accidentally stoked my masculine urge to die in a land war in Europe. I could eat that stew every day and not grow weary of it. Cheers from America!
1:03 even though i've seen and know that there's a spoon and fork end, it just looks wrong when the fork end is the only part sticking out while the opposite end is submerged in soup
From 1941 - 1945 (different Norwegian units). But our main impression of Rgt. Norge in the Nordland Division is 1943-45, but we do mostly 1943-late 44. :)
Bendito even the enemy had to eat too, war is interesting to learn but sad that it happened, may our American and German soldiers who died during the wars from the first and second (remember some Germans weren’t fighting for the Nazi cause but were fighting too defend their homeland) may even the Russian/Italian/Japanese fighters Rest in Eternal peace❤🌹

Shameful

Isn't the seal on the food carrier made of asbestos, which is toxic?or do you have an alternative seal?

I'm curious what you all were drinking, was it a kind of tea? A fruit juice?
It's beet soup.

Excellent video.

Thanks for sharing, what rank was the soldier with the porcelain bowl and the huge portion ?
He keeps eating like that and he'll need a larger uniform. It looked delicious, by the way.
Hahah, that was me - SS-Unterscahrführer! XD
We were trying to eat up the leftovers! XD

Awesome video, what time period does your unit portray? Mid, or late war?

Not off the top of my head... If you have facebook, I would try asking on "wwii german reenactor help page 2.0" ;)
depends on where you live, I've just joined part of a kampfgruppe in the netherlands with 15 other pioneers.
Were Russian and German gulasch similar?
