Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.
Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army Officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.
Based on the Monsterverse from Legendary, and starring Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, this dramatic saga - spanning three generations - reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.

Honestly it looks like they’re really trying to build out the monster verse well and it looks like it’s headed in a really good direction. Can’t wait to see more of this
I'm cautiously optimistic about this. I've seen enough great franchises milked into the ground by Americas corporations to know that it could happen to any of them. Of course, it was Disney that did most of the damage I'm thinking of, and I don't think they have any rights to this, so maybe it will turn out well.

Kurt and Wyatt Russell! What a powerhouse cast. I am very excited to watch this show.
That roar....WOW! It brings back memories and sends shivers of excitement down my spine. Whenever he rises up, roars, shakes, locates his target(s) and gives the stare you can't help but go "h*** yea!!!!!".
How great is it to be a Godzilla fan right now. With this show on the way, Minus One coming out November 3rd and GxK TNE next year, it's a peak time to be alive.

The panering upwords shot of Big G and him breaking up from dirt is one of the coolest MonsterVerse moments ever!!!! CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS SHOW!!!!!!
What would be really cool is if they show Godzilla shedding his dorsal plates and regenerating a new set. That would explain the different versions between movies and how Kong got one made into his axe.

1. Godzilla got new dorsals because MUTO Prime blew them off in the comic Godzilla: Aftershock
2. The dorsal in the axe was a from a completely different Godzilla.

While the axe may be from a different era Godzilla, it would set the idea that is how Kong got a dorsal being that Godzilla sheds its' plates. Just an idea, sorry for not being accurate.

However if you remember back in Godzilla 2014, when they first find the hatched muto, it was inside the body of a dead Godzilla that was defeated by Muto Prime. So it's possible the axe could be made from the one that died or an ancestor maybe
Caught the first episode at NYCC. Really solid pilot and I'm amazed the VFX still looks as good on an Apple TV+ project as it does in theaters. And casting Kurt and Wyatt Russell play the same guy at different points in time was a genius move.
All their money went into effects. They filmed this in Vancouver on a shoestring budget. I worked background for it. We have a reputation for coming in on time and way under budget. Some of the sets I saw were laughably bad, but with the right lighting, colourization and post effects it all looks magnificent in the end. They also filmed the latest Peter Pan movie here (the one with Jude Law) and you'd never know it to look at it.

@@thejanusproject32 We have a reputation for phoning it in. Background, props, set dec, often do the bare minimum necessary and employ a quarter of the staff other studios do. So I'm always delightfully impressed when something we do looks this good.

I would like to see more of the classic monsters that Legendary hasn’t shown yet.
Watching Godzilla as a kid was was awesome. Getting to watch more movies, the animated show and now a live action show, is freaking amazing. Loved the Godzilla that came out in 2014 and the movies that came out after! So stoked for the future movies!!

So Apple TV is not a million dollar company... Yeah right! The special effects of this movie are done by the same people that worked on Godzilla 2014 and the rest of movies after. Maybe not all of them, of course it will look good, it's for Apple, produced by Legendary. Some people just don't think before they spew some non-sense.

Wonder what Godzilla's roaring at in that final shot. I really hope there'll be an enemy titan - but likely not Muto Prime or Shinomura, if you pay attention to his spikes during the moment. Not saying they won't be in the show however, since it jumps through different periods of time. Crossing my fingers that they'll show up sometime. This truly looks like it'll be a great experience for us kaiju fans. Can't wait for these next few months, it's gonna be quite the ride.

@@Tyrexthecreaturedesigner yeah that was my thought too. If memory serves, the MUTO eggs were pretty similar to these ones. We didn't get to see the baby MUTOs, so it is possible. But I think these ones are different. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Was anyone else surprised by her slip-and-fall at the beginning when she jumped from the bus? Extremely realistic. When I see other movies, I'm not worried about the realistic effects of being reckless in rainy scenarios. But in this, it has made me realise that this small detail makes a HUGE detail in immersing myself in the movie's world.
By the way, thank god she's flexible. If not, I bet that would've hurt.
With a great trailer like this and an awesome series to come, I'm happy the monsterverse is giving great big steps to expand

@@TIME_OUT_FRANKYour "OG Zilla" started being Human friendly in the 60s, take your attitude somewhere else. Even in the 90s and into the 00's, when they made Godzilla a bit darker again, he was still largely Human friendly in the sense that he wasn't directly threatening the world _most_ of the time. He still fought monsters even if it was for his own interest rather than Humanity's.

We really need to thank Gareth Edwards, Michael Doherty, Adam Wingard, and lastly Legendary pictures. Even though with each film some main actors don’t show up in the sequels, the films have still been able to succeed in keeping Godzilla relevant for modern audiences. Japan/Toho has loaned Godzilla to us and he has made his second home here in the US for almost a decade now, and I can say with confidence that we will definitely get more Godzilla in the years to come, as he has once again gained popularity and relevance in the mainstream once again. Other than The classic universal Monsters and maybe Kong, their is no one as icon than Godzilla in cinematic history. Long live the King!!

They "stole" the image of Godzilla even though Toho leases Godzilla out to Warner/Legendary for a VERY premium price. Nothing is being stolen. Toho is making money off the lease and the popularity the western films bring Godzilla's IP internationally.
It's also good to note the director of Minus One is a fan of the 2014 Gareth Edwards Godzilla film. Meanwhile the Monsterverse inspired Toho to make Shin Godzilla in the first place. Which the success of pushed them to greenlight Minus One.
