Why doesn't this fit a 2017 Silverado ?

PLEASE NOTE, IN THIS VIDEO, THE MAF SENSOR IS INSTALLED BACKWARDS. ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTION VIDEO, THE BASE PLATE HAS AN ARROW ON IT, WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO FACE FORWARD. THE SIDE OF THE MAF SENSOR WITH THE WIRES ON IT IS TO BE INSTALLED ON THE FRONT SIDE. FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL CAUSE THE TRUCK TO IDLE ROUGHLY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON (2018 GMC SIERRA 1500 SLT 5.3L). TURNING IT AROUND CORRECTLY AND IT RUNS FANTASTIC
I just ordered mine because I just got my exhaust done hopefully it will all make a difference, I can already tell with just the exhaust so I’m hoping the intake will cause it to smooth out
Good video but the maf sensor is not the same direction as when you removed..am i missing something?

purchased this product and installed on 2018 silverado 1500 5.3 yesterday had a issue with the 5/8 hose on passenger side . the hose provided when installed continued to kink. called American truck they said they didn't know and to email support got the message that they would get back to me within a week. ARE YOU KIDDING. I went to advanced got a 5/8 hose with a built in 90 degree angle cut to fit and it fits better and looks like it belongs. NO THANKS TO AMERICAN TRUCK PHONE SUPPORT OR EMAILED SUPPORT.
Did you spin the hose connected to the engine before connecting to the intake to lessen the kink, helps a bit
I have seen the data which says an oiled filter actually increases airflow by 5% more than the dry filter. It just requires you to maintain the filter to keep the performance.
Oil also attaches to the maf sensor in the long run you have to replace it
You will get addicted to the sound at takeoff big difference! But that will burn your gas very quick, other than that you now have a touch of a muscle truck, ppl will think you're trying to race them lol
You are installing the Mass Air Flow Sensor the wrong way. The red clip on the sensor faces the Radiator not the firewall. If you install it like he does in the video it will throw your engine light. READ THE MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTIONS
💯 I followed this video as a supplement to the S&B instructions, and for sure it was installed the wrong way causing the check engine light!!! Gotta be better than that! If you go back to the beginning and view the stock install as he is removing the MAF you’ll see the red clip facing the radiator - great catch man! Wish I would have checked the comments first. If you get a check engine light, disconnect the negative battery cable, reinstall the MAF correctly, wait about 2-3 minutes and reconnect the negative battery cable and you should be good to go.

This does not fit the 2017 Silverado, but it does fit the 2017 and 2018 GMC Sierra. Thanks for watching! - Zach

no but check your local dealer. s&b comes with its own warranty along side the vehicles. so long as you vehicle was maintained

Will it fit a 2008 Yukon
This guy is made specifically for 2014-2018 Silverado 1500s and we have no test fitted it for Yukon models, I'd recommend purchasing something made for your specific application for the best results. -Zach

You can but, Its recommended that you stay with what the manufacturer sends with your intake.
I wish one of these makers would design for the eAssist models. NOTHING FITS FOR THE eAssist models
I've seen other videos where they place the MAF upside down. Does it make a difference??
