- I quickly take us back to a day when full body suits were allowed! These were the suits that swimmers used back in 2009 and earlier!

Those were the days. All the kids suddenly were hitting mega PBs when they were banned and everyone could get the LZRs cheap.
Yes I loved it, so much fun! Wish they'd stayed, imagine how they'd have advanced. Polyurethane with internal taping, pockets of dual layered in certain places. What a dream! I'd love to see the ISL use them if they don't get sanctioned by FINA as world records won't count anyway.
I am a runner and really enjoyed watching the video. I am thinking that maybe the running shoe Nike Next % and 4% also do similar things for runners, and may be need to be reviewed.
Maybe you can start reviewing trainers then!
Ahh the tech suit
The suit that you wear at nationals which also kills you from the inside out xD
Definitely my favourite video on your channel. A lovely insight into swimming history!
Yes, I love looking back at suits of the past, hopefully I can get hold of some for future videos!
Great video! Thanks for this info!
Suuuper helpful information for a design student wanting to branch out into tech swimwear
Arena Giveaway. This is my favourite vid, I like the history and always found full suits interesting and wanna try one
This is my favourite video because I like learning the history
Glad you enjoyed, the full bodysuits were so cool!
Found this really interesting 💪💪
Me to
Same
Actually there are rules in finswimming as well, the suit has to be CMAS approved which is basically like FINA but for finswimming...
Yes I've seen that they are CMAS approved. The rules just allow a lot more than FINA. Even in 2009 suits had to be FINA Approved. The first Arena X Glide was actually never approved and Fred Bosquets 20.9 never counted. They re released it with 10% less polyurethane.
I swam during the fastskin days, completly missed out on all this banned tech stuff.
That's a shame. I honestly think today's jammers are better/as good as everything 2007 and before but boy was 08/09 something else.
God bless!
This is my favorite video because it helped me out while doing mandatory science fair.
Did you do something tech suit related?
@@TheSwimsuitGuy yes. I'm surprised that my teacher approved it
Fav video here! Would have loved to try me some bannend suits :D:D:D:D
Would love to see you go a 100/200 in a Jaked
What would be the best suit for a guy that is in the navy trying to get competitive times for the 500 doing combat side stroke? I don’t have to have a FINA approved suit, it just has to be a jammer. What should I look for on eBay lol.
Literally just get any jammer. You don't need anything fancy, as long as it's not a board short you'll be alright.
Hey please review the jaked fastest suits. Tell us the best performing and fastest suits on the market please!
sake chung right now I think that is the Mizuno GX Sonic III. I will ask Jaked to review their new suit. I will be reviewing the Finis Rival, Q Swimwear Q Glyde, Hammerhead Hydroflow & Silver Armour and Arena Carbon Ultra soon!
TheSwimsuitGuy Great!
Oh and please could you give an opinion about a Try Avictor?
I need some help. Championships are coming up. Which suit is better the arena carbon air or the lzr racer elite 2?
I prefer Carbon Air. But check some reviews on this channel out!
Thx u
You should review the arena carbon pro which I believe is no longer available and also it would be great if u could get your hands on the first Carbo pro which was later banned for Watever reason
I have a few Carbon Pro and am gonna do an in depth look at all 4 Carbons at some point. I had the V1 and had them replaced at the time but they weren't all that different!
@@TheSwimsuitGuy would u recommend the mizuno sonic or the Carbon flex/pro for a sprinter, and I prefer more compression
@@saifahmed4814 Mizuno regardless of what you race, miles better than Arena Carbon Flex!!!! Get the ST if you are a sprinter.
@@TheSwimsuitGuy Thanks a lot mate!!
Review the old and new adidas suit
Alex Central which old Adidas suit? I got the new Adizero XVIII through in 28 but it was way to big so I had to send back and they (the retailer I purchased from as have a gift voucher) have decided to stop stocking so I've got to put that review on hold for now sadly.
Which is the best tech suit for women in 2018?
Sadly I wouldn't be able to give an honest opinion as have never worn one aha
Tyr Venzo by far
Is there anyplace to get these suits now?
I wish man! Sadly places like eBay are your best bet. That being said Jaked do a J01 Remastered finswimming suit that may be like the original but I don't know for sure and is quite pricey!
Can you still buy any of the banned suits?
Check eBay. Also Finswimming suit, Jaked make a J01 for Finswimming!
Yup! Keep a lookout for TYR warehouse sales that might be near your location. I bought the suit he’s wearing for $30 :D
Does anyone still use spandex instead of all this new tech stuff, I swim in spandex briefs and go thru the water fine

Wouldn’t less be more? A Speedo original in order to preserve privacy, perhaps.
No the suits are more hydrophobic than skin and compression helps muscles keep going!
Why did he spell out TYR (pronounced "tier").
In the UK the brand is wrongly known as T Y R and sometimes i still say that without thinking. If you watch more of my videos I'll probably say a combination of tier and T Y R 😂
@@TheSwimsuitGuy even though I know it's said "tier" I still call or TYR
