    When I got my first knee skin I did wear it for warmup I only swam a few laps since I swam a longer warmup before I put it on but I had never had a knee skin before so I wanted to see how it felt. Also I have been told before that you can’t use soap when rinsing out a tech suit since it can burn holes in it, is that accurate? 👍🏻

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy
      @TheSwimsuitGuy  5 лет назад +15

      That's fair enough if you wanted to experience the feel of a kneeskin as it would be a different experience for sure. As one off these things are fine.
      That's absolutely not accurate. There are some brands who recommend just a rinse with water and no soap but the majority recommend soap. Them arenas have been worn and rinsed well over 50 times now and not a single hole in sight!!!

    I have never worn a tech suit and before watching this video I though it could be a good idea to wear a tech suit during warm up so i could get used to the feeling of it because I was thinking if I didn't get used to the feeling of it it could affect my performance while racing in a negative way since it would catch me by "surprise" sort of, what would you say in that situation?

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy
      @TheSwimsuitGuy  3 года назад +4

      If your that worried first wear one for a stand up in training, that'll be a lot less water contact than a warm up. But it only has a positive effect so don't think it'll throw you off negatively! Enjoy wearing one for the first time in a race, you'll go fast ;)

  • @andyawesome2842
    @andyawesome2842 5 лет назад +5

    I heard it's not a good idea to hang a tech suit to dry, as gravity will wear the water down and stretch the suit. You think it's better to lay the suit on a towel and let it air dry?

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy
      @TheSwimsuitGuy  5 лет назад +2

    This is really hard. I’m doing a meeting soon where I am the first race. How am I going to get ready in time my suit is not big it’s so tight and small it takes about 15 minutes to put on while dry. So how am I going to get ready when I’m wet? I don’t think I will have enough time. What would you do?

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy
      @TheSwimsuitGuy  5 лет назад +2

      Obviously every meet will have different time frames but take your time drying yourself before putting it on and give yourself enough time between warm up and your first event!

  • @hege4318
    @hege4318 4 года назад +4

    Is it hard to get on a wet suit while being wet?
    Going to have my first meet with an expensive suit (Avictor, Tyr) and I'm afraid that if I'm wet after warm up I won't get it on.. (Bought it, and it is on its way, but I ordered 1 or 2 sizes smaller than my usual training suit). I also have 50 fly and 50 breast the same day (few hours in between), so the suit will still be wet. Should I just keep it on the whole day? It is my first international meet (I'm a masters swimmer), so it's a big deal! :)

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy
      @TheSwimsuitGuy  4 года назад +4

      Firstly try the suit ok before the meet.
      It will be harder to put on wet so just take your time drying off after warm up. If you have a few hours between races get out the suit. Let it try. Relax in something comfy then put it back on. They dry quickly when new.

    • @jessicaodonnell6257
      @jessicaodonnell6257 5 лет назад

      If you are a girl it can take a good 20mins to take your racing suit on and off, by the time you get it off you will have lost the opportunity to cool down and most of the time 30mins later you have another event.

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy
      @TheSwimsuitGuy  5 лет назад

      @@jessicaodonnell6257 getting off shouldn't take 20? I used to race in a full body suit, took ages to get on but getting off is much easier!
      Obviously if you have another race 30 mins later getting changed isn't an option though but last race of a session then yes you should get changed really quick.

    (I have a Carbon Air 2) So uh I have like a tiny tiny (a little less than the length/width of a needle of a thumbtack) rip at the seam of my tech suit it’s like right underneath the groin area from trying to put one on for the first time, do you think it’ll affect my 50 and 100 time? My guess is it could affect me only on like the 200 and higher. Or will the second layer work like the first and I have nothing to worry about?

    Is it a problem if you don’t know if this size is still good for you and put the suit a few times out of the water,with dry skin obviously,just to feel if the compression is still good?(I’m asking especially for a Arena Carbon Air 2).

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy

      TheSwimsuitGuy in this case it still fits,but I have to put it a few times after the quarantine just to make sure it is still good,because I added some kilos and them start to burn them.I just heard that every time you put the Carbon,no matter if in the water of not,the carbon fibers are spoiling and I want to ask you if this is true.The suit is relatively new-on 7,8 starts.
