Great video, I have the same bike in the same color so I'll be doing this today for the first time since I've owned her. But I've heard I need crush washers.. I noticed that you didn't use any in this video, any insight?
I know proper procedure says to use a crush washer. However, neither this bike, nor my previous one (or any car I've owned for that matter), has had one on it. Knock on wood I've never had an issue in any of the oil changes I've performed in the past, and have never put a new crush washer on because of this. Putting a new one on is probably the right way to go so I won't say don't do it, I just haven't had a failure after not putting one on. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
Really wish I seen this video two days ago did my first oil change ever and thought if I removed the filter it would drain the oil, live and learn I guess, I was wondering why the oil looked so dirty still, after I added the new oil, time for round two and 30 more bucks
Good idea. I did one about 2 years ago, and made a huge mess haha. Will see if she is due another one and will definitely make a video of it. Not a hard procedure but messy and time consuming.
Few things: -You forgot the crush washer that must be replaced every time on the drain bolt; I didn't even see you using one. It is used as a gasket, and VERY important that you use it and replace every time! -That oil filter is way over torqued; there is no reason for it to be that tight. Hand tight is plenty tight, and it is why I don't like K&N oil filters (because people tend to over torque them)
Great video man I'm about to get a zx-6 in a couple weeks !!! Will be watching all of your videos !
Happy to help! Let me know if you have any other questions once you get it!
dude ur oil is clean as hell, it can be utilize for 3000 more miles
Yea probably could have waited a little bit, but the bike was already down for other maintenance so I went ahead and did it.
