- I purchased a 2009 CBR600rr off a guy for $200!!!!! the catch was the bike was wrecked, not running, title-less, and missing many pieces. In this build series you'll see me take a cheap bike and make it into a cheap street legal custom BEAST!!
In this video I painted the tank fairing and other fairing pieces with a pearl black color!

I love the undertail exhaust. When i had my cbr600rr 07/08' model it was the sexiest bike ever. It got compliments everywhere all the time and im not over exaggerating. I miss it as i totaled it. It got so much compliments compared to my r6 😔😑😒 and apparently the r6 is supposed to be the best looking of the 600cc bikes. Meh oh wells when i get rich i will have 5 bikes or more. Thats my dream and goal 😍 😃😃😎

The tank cover looks like it came from the factory that way. Good looking paint, too! I’ve been watching this build with a good deal of interest. Can’t wait to see it riding over the dirt!

I still can't get used with the shape of the tank (but hey, as long as you like it) but the paint with the white pearl is so cool! I would also not worry about those imperfections, it's great for an improvised painting spot

Good job with the paint work. I just recently repainted everything on a ninja 250 07 as a café racer. It was such a pain but I finally got it finished. Seeing your process was helpful, and I found it very similar.

I see what you mean about the speedometer, after that paint job everything else looks like it needs a buff and shine including the seats but I'm sure it will look amazing in the end. That's going to be a nice off road bike. People probably stop you and ask questions all the time when they see these bikes.
For sure! I would like to restore everything 100% like the seats get a new odometer cover but it’s probably not gonna be worth it in the end. I’m just trying to keep cost down as much as possible and that’s prob be another $120 for seat covers and new odometer cover.

Hey bud, not to say anything bad about your painting technique because the parts came out BEAUTIFUL. You do AMAZING work in every single trade of bike restoration.
The only thing I see that is potential problem, (I only say this because you may not have heard of it) but there's a department that monitors quality air. "indoor air management" is their name I think but don't quote me because it's been a while since I heard from them. Anyway, they go around mechanics and body shops looking for violations just like the one in this video. According to turn the overspray that is being blown outside is a very dangerous chemical and causes a ton of ozone depletion. They fine people from 5k all the way up to 25k. They operate kind of life OSHA. ANYWAY, if they see the clip off those particles being blown out into the environment they could get on your butt big time. Even if you had a filter on both sides of the fan they would still fail it because the side facing you it's open so there's still going to be escape. A buddy of mine who did body work on the side got busted by them out here and had to stop painting in his shop unless he got a spray booth which clearly he couldn't afford. Usually when someone has a busy buddy shop a bunch of the paint companies will give them the spray booth for free installed on a contract that they will only use their paint exclusively. But in this case they wouldn't happen so you really need to do that stuff inside of a sealed room to protect your butt. I've seen haters and trolls call in violations on so many RUclipsrs getting them fined just got entertainment because they have no lives. So please just be careful. One phone call from some asshole viewer and you'll get a visit from prior that you don't really want to meet. LoL.
But besides that your work in incredible. Sorry if I'm intruding but I'm literally just trying to help with info about the laws and stuff. Thought maybe you may not be familiar with the legal problems that could arise from it. (just like the guy who commented: really? Blowing overspray all over people's cars?"). That's the type of guy that will "anonymously" report you. LoL

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure spraying that paint without filters and just letting it blow outside is illegal with all the vocs goin into the atmosphere.

Use a heat gun on the clusters plastic it'll darken it and take out most of the scratches

i love the paintwork but i think you should have made the housing for the tacho in a way that the tacho was flush with the housing and not sticking on it
It definitely would look nice but again would’ve taken a lot more time to make, while I am spending time to make this look nice it’s going to be an offroader so it doesn’t really need to be perfect because it’s probably going to get beaten and abused anyway.

Probably a bit late but the speedometer would be better placed under the tank cover than on it. Under or in the cover. Then it would be more than perfect.
Yeah that might be nice, but there is a ton of excess wiring that needs to go somewhere so that is the point of the big airgap inside of the cover to hide all the extra wiring so I don’t have to chop any wiring.
@@Benjamminoutdoors Your paint job looks great. It's hard to believe that this is the 2nd time you've done it this way. I noticed that the fiberglass was soaked from above. First you have to wet the ground with the glue and then always overlap the individual pieces of fiberglass. Yes I am a know-it-all here, sorry. But that's how it is. I am also not Mr. Perfect. All in all, you are a big boy ^^ YOU do great work. My Respect! Greetings from Germany

Lol what’s so bad about it. If I was able to keep those few specks of stuff out of the paint it would have looked flawless, a few of the sections do look flawless.
