Wow! Someone who finally plays the verse chords the right way!!!!! So tired of seeing countless people playing G-A-Bb power chords for the verse..wrong!!
He's closer than most, but he's not playing it right either. Listen to the song and Justin playing back to back. I might fail to explain this right, but basically he's hitting the low G note on the opposite beat from the one he should hit it on. So the chords themselves sound right, but he doesn't quite have the rhythm pattern right.
Hi Justin. Thanks for the great lesson. I have Everlong, Walk, Times Like These. Now because of you I will have All My Life.. Learning Foo Fighter songs forces me to learn new hard songs. Thanks...
Great lesson. I had to resort to playing with my fingers instead of a pick. I just can't cleanly get that muting technique you do with your index finger. It's so foreign. I mute all kinds of other ways, but when it comes to skipping strings, I've always just thought I HAD to play with my fingers instead of a pick. This is going to take some practice. Much harder than I thought this would be. Thanks so much for a great lesson!
Justin you are top-notch. I'd love to hear you mic up (as you already do) and turn up the volume so you can't hear the strings at all. It would sound even more pristine with your awesome skills!
That songbook list sems to cover just about every song that random strangers start to play if you sit down for a jam. I think these lessons will be very useful.
Really great, but I agree with those who say you have the rhythm wrong on the quick riff during the verses. I can very clearly hear it starting on the low G rather than the B. To my ear it is: G-B-G-G-G-B, with the G being a right hand muted chug. But the rest sounds spot on to me, so thank you! It's always tricky figuring out how these guys invert & abbreviate basic chord shapes in such an original sounding way. So I appreciate you doing the work or us. I was struggling because I incorrectly assumed it was drop D tuning and just couldn't get it. And i LOVE that Goldtop Standard LP! I'm super jealous - it's the color I should have held out for. Been considering getting my Cherry Burst Std refinished as a Goldtop. Nice!
Lol I just read your Facebook status on pre-ordering the Rock Songbook and visited your website to see an awesome song list. First I thought: I hope he does a video lesson on All My Life. Thanks Justin!
Justin! I love you :D First I learned from you how to play Stairway to Heaven, then Hysteria, Times like these, Purple Haze and now Im going learn this song! The best damn free guitar lesson ever. You nake everything clear and easy. I dont even need any tabs. Big respect for what youre doing man! Peace, Love and Rock'n'Roll!
how do you get the sound ? its just guitar and amp or did you use a pedal ? i have a Strat and a Spider IV 15 and haven't managed to get even close to that sound
That syncopated minor 3-to-root riff on the verses... it’s killer, but do the Foo Fighters actually play it like that? Unless the isolated guitar track video on RUclips isn’t correct, it sounds like you’re starting on the high string instead of the low string.
Justin just a quick question, maybe you or anyone else can give me some pointers. I have no problem picking fast on any of the strings except for the low E. I can't pick fast on that string for some reason. My pick just has too much drag even when I angle it. I also play a Les Paul type guitar like in this video. Perhaps some more people have problems with this so I hope you can answer it. Thank you for the lessons!
The change between the opening riff and the main riff is played in three different ways through the arrangement. First change is nothing but Ghrol's rock scream, the second is the open change and the third is a 5th fret harmonic which sounds awesome.
Hey Justin, a question for you bro.. ive been learning for about a year on acoustic, and im starting to hear some positive feedback from friends etc... ive just recently got an electric guitar, but im having problems making the transition... any tips?
Awesome. Thank you. If you guys could do me a huge favor and check out my band by searching "Logic Fail Unrestrained" for our original song or Logic Fail Learn to Fly (as long as we're on Foo Fighters) that would be awesome. I play the bass in the band, but a lot of my basic skills were taught learning guitar from Justin over the bast year and a half. Justin's had a huge impact on my playing ability and I would not be in a band without his teaching. If you do check it out, constrictive criticism!
Me too man!
Thank Rock It's Friday!! going to bring you a new rock tune every Friday for the next while (20+ weeks!!). Next week it's La Grange :)

Yeah ..you're right
he calls a cmajor chord a eflat chord tho
@@slasha761 C Major shape is what it is. It is an Eb.
Blimey that's a tough riff. Ghrol using that drummer mind of his
Hi Justin. Thanks for the great lesson. I have Everlong, Walk, Times Like These. Now because of you I will have All My Life.. Learning Foo Fighter songs forces me to learn new hard songs. Thanks...
Another great lesson! If you do more Foo in the future, a The Pretender lesson would be awesome.
Justin, you are the best guitar instructor ever. Many thanks for all you do. Yer teh best!
finally some person do the right form
So annoying to see this song always tabbed the wrong way!!!! People apparently don't listen to what they're playing when they tab shit the wrong way
