- In this video we'll show you why you should not purchase Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator in its current state. It suffers from numerous issues, including tons of bugs, terrible AI, and very poor performance and regular stuttering. The concept is interesting and could have resulted in a fun sim game, but it was not ready to be released and should have been delayed. Do you not waste your money on this game until it receives some significant patching.

It is very valuable to hear that a game is not worth it. I watch your videos because we mostly are on the same page gamewise. This saves me money! And the yellow lights also alert that the red light is coming here in The Netherlands ;)
Oh we didn't go to the Netherlands, only the UK, Italy, and Spain. It's certainly on our list for the next European trip though, along with France, Germany, Croatia, and Greece. But yeah, this game's got too many issues at launch to recommend unfortunately.

Performance issues aside I think the game looks pretty good, I like the idea of a more serious version of crazy taxi kinda. Wish you could see your hands on the wheel tho at least in 1st person although I do prefer to drive in 3rd person in driving games/sims anyway
Yeah I like the concept of the game and the graphics, other than the pedestrians, are good for a simulator game. However, the performance issues, bugs, and terrible AI ruin the experience IMO. Maybe these issues will be fixed a few months, but this is how they decided to release it so that's what I'm judging.
I brought it anyway. I love it. I needs work to keep you engaged but it’s a good game to me

4:31 This is how I drive my car. I have smashed through the front windscreen and I lay on the hood head forwards steering with my feet. Makes for an enjoyable ride! DONT JUDGE ME.
I had fun in the game and it would probably be patched. The devs is quite hands on with the community on this one. But who knows, they may let this game rot and if they do that. Then i will learn my lesson.
It worked ok on series x play in first person and never had a
Stutter like that. Wow it works worse on ps5 it seems.
The price tag is ok. Not overpriced this is exactly why i buy these games that is not overpriced, they need support so they can do better and better. It wouöd have been better ofc if they sold it as a preview.

We play in first person in the next episode. The stuttering is still definitely present, but it seems slightly less jarring. Still, the performance, bugs, and AI are unacceptable for a full release IMO. We all have our own tolerance for these sorts of things though. Personally, I have plenty of other games to play that are better optimized to feel that purchasing a game with this many issues is worth it. And regarding price, I think the $29.99 that they're charging for the PC version is more fair for this style of game than the $39.99 on console.
I think it’s not that bad. I buy for almost every month 200 € games and for sure I spend money to game or fly that is worse than this. Ok it need some bug fixes. But its playable
For someone like you or I, who purchase a lot of games each month, it might not be that regrettable of a purchase, but for someone who only has the money to buy one game a month, this would be quite frustrating I think. Personally, I think the stutter is so bad that it's borderline unplayable, it's certainly affecting my enjoyment and I wouldn't be playing if it wasn't for wanting to record these videos for the channel.
This game is good tho, I’m having a blast playing this.
I know it needs some updates but from the bugs it’s awesome.
We all have our own opinions and tolerances when it comes to these types of issues. For me, this is an unacceptable level of issues for a $40 game at launch.

Sadly that’s every game now a days, I’m not saying that’s right, I wish that changes so now I just go into games with an open mind.
I have no tolerance for that either but sadly it’s happening more and more every game. Now everyone is putting bad reviews and not giving games a chance.
That’s just my thoughts.
I really hope theses bug issues can change but I don’t think that will happen anytime soon.

For the PC it's great. But they will fix all the issues hopefully soon. No Mans Sky was crap when it came out with negative reviews. Now it's a cool game.
Well only 41% of the reviews on Steam are positive, with players saying it's full of bugs, performance issues, and a terrible AI. So basically exactly what I said about the console version. Perhaps the developers will fix the issues in later patches, but apparently they abandoned their previous game, Train Life, without fixing its problems, so that's not guaranteed. For every redemption story like No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk, there's dozen of games that are never fixed. Regardless, I'm going to judge a game based on what it is on release, not based on what it "might" become later on. Developers should delay a game rather than release it in such a broken state, when we purchase a game we're not signing on to become their unpaid beta testers.

What so when you got to stop at the traffic lights in the U.S, there is no orange caution light, isn't that highly dangerous.
No, there is a yellow light before the red stop light, we were just joking that most Americans see it as a sign to speed up to not have to stop at the red. The difference we were talking about, is that there is not a yellow light before the green light.
It's hard to be excited when the game has issues but Jynx sounds asleep in the backseat.

The Clutch and stuff in this game is actually horrible it's insane, the car is slowing down in an instant without me even pressing brake pedal, I'm glad I didn't buy it
It certainly has a lot of issues.
So, i seen people play on pc and they dont seem to have the stutter issues. ai driving is still bad. I imagine if your computer is not very good you will have stutters. I think the game is just not well optimized and the ps5 version was probably an afterthought and didn't have time to make it acceptable. I hope they fix the bugs. I am a simulator junkie lol
Seems that people still aren't liking it on PC though, with the Steam reviews only being 41% positive. The negative reviews are complaining of performance issues, bugs, and terrible AI, so much of the same things that we're seeing on console, though just without the annoying stutter. It's messed up the console version is so much worse though, considering it costs an extra $10.
It is better optimized for series x actually. I do not have all that stutter.

It might allow you to use a steering wheel, I'm not sure as we don't own one.

Some issues and bugs are to be expected, but this game has too many problems at release.
I like honest reviews but please remember it is a driver sim style game. Yes you will see accidents and get hit by other drivers. It is part of the imersion. Also please remember using keyboard or controler is not as smoth as sterring weel gear stick and peddles. I am not sure what your using to review the game, even truck sim games are bad using keyboard of controler. Add the right stuff you get a better outcome. Also playing it from inside view you do not get so much frame drop as your not drawing more texture then you need. Just my point of view on reveiwing games. It is all about imesion.
Having some AI accidents in the game is a good thing, as it's realistic, the problem is that the AI is constantly getting in accidents. You see them all the time because the AI driving is so terrible, this is the opposite of immersion. And it's true that sims are better with a steering wheel, but we don't own one and we play these types of games all the time without one, so we're comparing this game to many other driving sims on the market, all of which we've played with a controller. In the next episode, we only play in first person, and while the stuttering is not as jarring it's still just as frequent.

I think it's simply an issue of development resources, they'd have to record all the player character's lines a second time.

@@PraetorianHiJynxmaybe on pc improved? Because I bought it on ps5 yesterday and whenever I start turning it drops to 5fps probably. Also cant watch in mirrors or will throw up very fast, its so painful to drive, but I really like it I hope they can fix the stuttering asap cus it will be very joyful if it runs smoothly
All theses sim game games are terrible especially taxi life no black man no black woman no other races, this is a joke $36.00 dollars I been robbed like all the others so sad getting rear ended while driving pickup customers or while driving mad there no steering wheel support for ps5 or Xbox console players all developers are robbers and crooked people lies too us console gamers.😡😡😡
