Always do research on wherever you travel to. Do some research on flights, accommodations, way of life, best deals, best tips...so as not to end short or very far from whatever expectations you had.
Honestly for the airline experience I don't blame Cebu Air, it was your fault. Only one piece of cabin luggage allowed. Low cost airlines especially will be sticklers for this rule but to be fair we should follow this rule anyway, I get annoyed when people fill the lockers with excess and oversized "hand carry" and I'm forced to put my bag under my seat. And almost all countries (except China) require proof of onward travel. Thanks for the video, looking forward to seeing more of the Philippines! PS i know one of your bags was a laptop bag but when they look like a backpack it is hard to argue it should not be counted in your allowance.
Definitely got off on the wrong foot! Thank you for mentioning "throwaway" tickets. Never heard of them. That one tip is worth the cost of subscribing! Also appreciate seeing the disconnect between the nice pool and modern exterior of the Cebu hotel and your not-so-great room. Don't judge a book by its cover. With these frustrations out-of-the-way I hope the rest of your trip goes better. Good luck!
Throw away ticket. Best to set a date far into the future, to the cheapest destination. Could save a lot. Good travel agents , should know this already, when flying to the Philippines!! Good luck with the weather. This year is very different from last year .living up here in northern Luzon. Have had a lot of storms this year. Last year the drought had already started by now! Safe travels! Btw. I find Agoda, very good for getting accomodations!
Typical American... thi is you can fly to the Philippines without doing your homework about the travel then trying to blame others. Learn the rules before you travel and follow them, especially about the return or onward flight...then the hotel too.
Because you are flying so cheap at discounted rates. charges for carry-on bags: Personal item A free item that can be a purse, laptop bag, or small backpack. The maximum dimensions are 18 in x 14 in x 8 in (45 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm), including handles and wheels. Of course you are required a round trip ticket when you go abroad. In USA they also have discounted air tickets.
If landing at Manila never accept a "taxi" that comes to you, go to Gate 13 and across the crossing point you will the official taxis that have to go by the meter and you are given a ticket by the controller with the taxi number and who to report them to if they overcharge or switch meter off.
@@KeithFLOOK-wd3uw I would never accept a taxi that came to me at an airport in any country. It's always a scam. Good to know about Gate 13 and that you could report a bad taxi driver, but if I go down there it'll be to Cebu, not Manilla.. That's the main reason why I use ride sharing app like Uber in other countries is because your payment goes straight to Uber, you leave feedback at the end of the ride, and they also guarantee the ride. Not sure if the Grab app in Cebu does the same thing.
Good of you to share your experience. However, proper planning/research would've alleviated most if not all your frustrations🤔. For example, Cebu Pacific is a budget airlines. Their pricing structure is no different than a lot of budget airlines.
Cabs have meters it’s the Philippines…😂😂😂 yes they may take a different route, but after 3 years of living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 maybe an extra 20 pesos on a ride..
You can always bargain with the transportation price...try to haggle...try the joy ride or angkas if you're in Manila and in Cebu I think they have habal-habal ( motor ride transport)
If you insist on what is RIGHT, they can't force it on you because SCAMMERS in the Philippines can be penalized if you report it to the authorities. Since you didn't stand your ground, it means you're helping the scammers. 😊
Sure knows how to leave a bitter taste on video. The Cebu Pacific thing was not the airline's problem. The hotel socket blah blah sounds mysterious. And overcharged by a taxi at P800? There are coupon taxis with a fixed price. There's Grab taxi that shows the price. But the unconditional love for metered taxis prevails. Blame it on the rain? For sure. Can't wait to watch the Scammed at Jollibee episode, Spaghetti edition.
You are absolutely correct. I have been flying to Vegas twice a year from San Francisco. Frontier and Spirit are so cheap you only allowed a small backpack, Laptop bag or a purse. Cebu Pacific has a discounted rates also
The cause of your victim story is you. You should have done your homework on the airline requirements and country entry requirements. What is the point of your video? Are you giving useful information to those who enter the Philipines? Pick an outcome and serve that outcome rather than rant on about god knows what.
@QuinnPrice - What’s wrong with you? Why are you piling on to this guy and criticising him? He made some mistakes and is reporting the outcome. Learn to be civil, or be quiet.
For carry on luggage, n9t a scam im sure your carry on went over the size of allowed carry on. Happened to me in Frontier airline charged me for 90, i was upset but its their rules & cant do anything. For hotel stay you don't pay less bec you came late and you should know that lol but yes it was an obvious scam charging you more. I Prob missed it but name the hotel to avoid. Scary to check in late
@JackVoorheis not sure about exact same you were saying if over the weight. Sometimes they allow it and sometimes they dont, depends on how nice the person is and happened to me few times but if its under the allowed limit then yes definitely a scam.
Downgrade? Lol! Both are a lower income countries but On a tourist point of view both are beautiful places if you do your homework first and know where to go. 7000+ islands and white sands.
Don’t mind the comments and continue speaking your mind, if tourist stay silent, how can the Philippines improve? I liked this video.
@DamskoDon thank you for your comment. I did meet good people and enjoyed certain aspects of the Philippines. More will be revealed in my next video.
Onward flight is well known, it’s not just the Philippines but loads of countries do it.
Thanks for this. Thought these issues were unique to me. Good to know I'm not alone.

Foreign vloggers are like in a tug-of-war. They hate the Philippines secretly but has to vlog the country because most of the views are here. Haha

Just curious. You said you overpaid 800 pesos for a taxi ride. Why didn't you use the Grab ride sharing app?

Cebu Air is the worst. There are a lot of things to like in the Phils, esp the people. But Cebu Air, woof.
