I had a nurse just for the first week. It made a huge difference. They show you everything. Even though we have our moms and siblings, it was so worth it. Yay for feeling the baby movements!
If you decide to share your book collection... maybe a vlog style video sitting in the nursery. Maybe put them in categories, favorites, ones you haven't read yet, ones you received as a child, favorites your parents read to you as a child. It would be cool to hear some history on the books. Thanks for sharing!
Jenn, I absolutely adore your weekly updates. Wednesdays are my "Saturdays" so I look forward to getting my day started with your videos. I hope to one day be able to meet you and Don... you both are just amazing. I have sent out a card, which you will see when you get back home, but keep an eye out for the package I'll be sending in October. One thing I did want to suggest is to have Winnie ' s stool checked for intestinal parasites every 3 months or so until baby Ross is about 5 years old. As a Vet Tech, I always recommend frequent testing for zoonotic diseases for pregnant mothers and mothers with young children. Thank you again for sharing your journey through pregnancy with us. I know we all look forward to seeing what's in store for your family!! :)

Yes!! I'm so glad you felt her poke you! When I was pregnant with my first, people would tell me it was going to feel like flutters, but when I first felt her move the only thing that could describe it was I felt like she was lightly poking me. :) Keep up the great blogs/vlogs about your pregnancy. So happy you've felt a little movement! You're right about feeling the baby while you're more still. I think the baby sleeps while you're active... and once you relax.. the baby wakes up and starts moving. Just wait until you start actually seeing feet or hands stretching out your belly....or that there's so much kicking around, it's hard to fall asleep! ....it'll happen before you know it. Enjoy these very special days!!
Baby name help, you say? I'm a HUGE baby name person despite not having any of my own. Figured I'd share some I like that I thought might be up your alley... Alice, Clara, Lily, Louisa, Violet, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Layla, Lola, Phoebe, Scarlett, Ava, Cora, Greta, Charlotte, Hannah, Catherine, Lydia and Lilah. There's a really fantastic website called Nymbler that could be useful to you. You input names you like and it gives you suggestions for others along the same line. Definitely check it out if you have time!
I think I speak for all of us when we don't mind longer videos, I, for a fact, love them, the longer the better! I think the children's book collection could be shown like show us where they are, the organisation and show the books one by one saying title and authors name and if there's a story behind how you acquired them :) (I am also an avid booktube watcher and love watching bookshelf tours like that) :D
Thank you so much for the update! It is so cool when you feel the baby move. And when it is bigger and you actually can see the elbow, knee or foot "bump" going across your tummy. And when baby kicks you in the bladder! LOL Love the cool things you got to wear and for the baby. There was no You Tube when I had my kids and I can not imagine having much time to do videos for the first weeks after they arrive. But everyone is different. Like you kind of said that you have to do what you can at that time. Thanks so much for your video! Hugs. :)
With regard to your book collection. You could present it in author's say if you have more than one book from the same author or you could group the books by age appropriateness. You could also show us all your picture books and then chapter books like that or talk about how you came to start the collection and show us your particular favourites first and then how you came to choose others. I can't wait for you to show us, I've always loved books and have a massive collection, more than a 1000 of my own, all types and plenty of children's ones too!
You're smart You won't know what you can do till she is here. Babies change your life a ton. In a great way, but it is mind blowing ;) You'll know what to do when she arrives. If I could give one piece of advice on nursing it would be don't give up. Many people stop during the tough part. It can hurt, there can be issues latching and many Moms fear their baby is not getting enough to eat. Use a lactation consultant and just keep going if it's something you want to do. I promise it gets so much easier, you just have to stick with it :)
I am so glad you finally felt your little girl! :) It is such an amazing feeling. My placenta is anterior as well so I didn't feel my first kick until 18 weeks. I'm 29 weeks at the moment and she has days where she is very busy in there and other days where she is a bit more chilled. At that 18 week stage I would only feel kicks at night after dinner or when I was having a relaxing bath. Then I would get some in the morning while I was relaxing. It has only been the last week that I have felt her move more during the day and when I'm at work teaching dance. Wait until you can actually see her move around without feeling it - that is weirdness itself! Enjoy this beautiful time. xo

Sharing the books would be great. You can break them down by genre, you can look them up by the ISBN and see the areas that are listed in or check the copyright page for them. Once you have an idea of what categories they fit in you can arrange them further in chronological order, since older copyrights may be harder to find. I so enjoy hearing your journey. I was never able to have my own children so I love living through others.

Jen, if you don't already have it, you have to look into getting the book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. My mom read it to my older brother and me when we were little and it makes me sob to this day. Such a sweet story.
+Pretty Neat Living Citrus Lane is really good for newborn-5 it is customized based on age and gender...I sadly don't know of any pregnancy ones...but I assume there could be some as it seems there is a box for everything these days!!
Are you able to talk a little bit about any body changes that you've been experiencing other than the baby bump growing? Have you been rubbing lotion on your bump to prevent any stretch marks or is it too early for that?
That's exactly how movement started for me ☺️ I'm 37 1/2 weeks now and my placenta is anterior, which I believe you said yours is as well. I also didn't feel like it was fluttery, it seems like yours happened exactly as mine did! It's so exciting to feel.. My girl is moving around right now so strongly it is bouncing my iPad lol!

Hey Jen I have a question...will the baby have her 'own' walking pharmacy, either in her diaper bag or in your purse? And I mean besides the obvious stuff like extra clothes and diapers. I'm curious. Take care
It really surprises me that you haven't had a baby name picked out for years LOL! You are such a planner and seem so great at thinking about the future that I was sure you must have it all thought out. Names are so hard though. I had 3 boys and then a girl and I still had trouble deciding on a girl name. There are so many pretty ones, but you have to choose only ONE and it has to feel right for both of you. So I get it!
My question. Have you thought about a Birth and postpartum doula? I think they can really be helpful with labour and after birth as it can be such an overwhelming time.
I have got to go find that "Vader's Little Princess" book! Reminds me of a friend's pregnancy a year ago (her son is 9 months now) when we were scouring the web for geeky baby things. There were R2D2 onesies with little caps, Star Trek onesies and even Hogwarts diaper bags.
Any ideas for her name yet Jen? Are you thinking of any family names to include? Does Don have any ideas that you like/dislike? I'd be so interested to hear the process you are going through to decide what her name will be. xx
I think once you have your little nursery library area set up you could just show that and maybe your top five favorite books plus any that were given for a special occasion. No need to go through dozens.

What's even more exciting is when your husband can feel her kick! I believe mine happened around 24/25 weeks. My question for this week is: Has Don been pampering you with back/foot rubs yet? I'm sure your back hasn't starting hurt yet but I remember towards the end my husband had to rub my back daily!
It would be nice for you to keep all of the cards and letters in an album and had it down to her when she is older maybe when she is expecting her own little bambino
I vote for Charlotte, which I know is hard cause of the Princess being born this year and there will be tons of little girls named that but it's so sweet and sounds good with Ross.
I think it would be really cute to name Baby "Dawn" or "Donna" in keeping with the family tradition and the duality of a new phase of life (it's a new dawn, it's a new day!)

You are such a planner and seem so great at thinking about the future that I was sure you must have it all thought out. Names are so hard though. I had 3 boys and then a girl and I still had trouble deciding on a girl name. There are so many pretty ones, but you have to choose only ONE and it has to feel right for both of you. So I get it!

I have got to go find that "Vader's Little Princess" book! Reminds me of a friend's pregnancy a year ago (her son is 9 months now) when we were scouring the web for geeky baby things. There were R2D2 onesies with little caps, Star Trek onesies and even Hogwarts diaper bags.

I think once you have your little nursery library area set up you could just show that and maybe your top five favorite books plus any that were given for a special occasion. No need to go through dozens.

+sanbeto100 Don's grandma is actually knitting a blanket for Baby Girl, which is such a sweet gift. I wish I could make more time to knit, but there aren't enough hours in the day!
What's even more exciting is when your husband can feel her kick! I believe mine happened around 24/25 weeks. My question for this week is: Has Don been pampering you with back/foot rubs yet? I'm sure your back hasn't starting hurt yet but I remember towards the end my husband had to rub my back daily!

I vote for Charlotte, which I know is hard cause of the Princess being born this year and there will be tons of little girls named that but it's so sweet and sounds good with Ross.
I think it would be really cute to name Baby "Dawn" or "Donna" in keeping with the family tradition and the duality of a new phase of life (it's a new dawn, it's a new day!)
