Why the Trinity is a Radical Doctrine

  • The Trinity has been the bedrock of Christian theology since the Council of Nicea. This is because the Trinity is the ONLY cogent concept of God if you accept the following proposition: God is love. If you believe God is love, then you should believe in a Trinitarian God.
Much of this video is built on the arguments from a chapter in my forthcoming book. Set for release in over a year.

Nice summation. The beauty/uniqueness of the Christian Trinity is that it defines relationship; God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Without a relationship you can only love yourself, which is narcissism. As God has the relationship of the Trinity, He also calls us into relationship with Him through his son, Jesus.

What makes the Trinity complex is it describes the plural nature of God (Let US create man in Our image, in Our likeness-Genesis). There are some Christian denominations that reject it because they do not understand it. You cannot put God in a petri dish and attempt to dissect Him under a microscope. Finite man will never fully understand an infinite God. All we know there are three persons who are God and there is a relationship between all three.

There is NO DOUBT that the trinity doctrine is FALSE. The reason is that the supporter of that doctrine insist in an ARROGANT and RIDICULOUS manner to put Jesus together with Father plus the Holy Spirit, but the TRUTH is that Jesus is with the FATHER ONLY! That is REITERATED by Jesus dozens of times, four gospels long: He had NO IDEA of what a triune God is supposed to be!! The trinity inventors didn't figure out that the Holy Spirit is THE FATHER WHO IS A SPIRIT ("God is a spirit") NOT A THIRD PERSON. In other words - as for ex. the Spirit of Elias is Elias who is a spirit - the Spirit of God (aka Holy Spirit) is of course God who is a spirit, not a third person. Thus, no third person exists.

Papal supremacy is worship of authority. The Biblical argument that Jesus gives the keys to Heaven and all of a sudden now complete temporal supremacy of a single person is justified, is laughable.
Also the Filioque just doesn’t make sense. Two principles of causation?
Roman Catholicism is too logicized as well. It can’t permit mysteries to the extent that they are needed which is why the Pope decried the miracle of the Holy Fire in Jerusalem as a fraud.
I could go on. I might make a video about my issues with RC at some point when I have a better historical understanding of the difference between EO and RC.

@@dissatisfiedphilosophybro Christ literally affirms apostolic succession when he gave the keys to the kingdom to Peter. Also the Filioque does make sense because the unity of the father and son is one principality. Also Catholicism does allow room for mystery, it’s affirmed that the trinity is mysterious to the finite subject in the 1992 Catechism.

@@noobslayeru Agreed on the apostolic succession part. I'm Orthodox. Just to remind you, one of us still has churches that exist which Paul wrote to (it isnt RC). Principality? Explain how two principles of causation do not distort the concept of persons. The persons have distinct attributes and this is what makes them distinct persons. The Father is the cause, Son is begotten, Holy Spirit is proceedeth. Yes, wow, such a legendary assertion. THE TRINITY IS A MYSTERY??? You and I both know what I mean when I say that RC overrides mystrey.

@@dissatisfiedphilosophy you orthodox have been called to council. You make your opinions known. The Pope stands up. He gives direction by his authority from God. You are just orthodox, you weren't given power to decide a council, why do you oppose the Pope chosen by God?
