@@YuB some tips focus on weapon diversity and movement, some bosses call for very specific tactics and you can perfectly gain health and stay just enough away with certain tactics also parry more often trust me
when you were "deflecting" Swordsmachine, you actually weren't parrying him, you were parrying your own bullets when you do that, one of your shotgun's bullets becomes explosive
@@YuB holy shit yub, thanks for noticing the comment!! i've wanted to say that i really love your content, and that it really suits my stupid humor anywho, no problem dude!!!
About 3 years ago, I couldn’t stop watching YuB. He was definitely my favorite RUclipsr. Every time a new video released I would immediately click on it and put my headphones on. Unfortunately, I slowly started to drift away. I found this game about 4 months back, and have racked up hundreds of hours. When I saw this on my homescreen, I was so shocked and happy that I just sat there for a few seconds trying to process what I was seeing. I’m so glad that he’s playing this and I’m also heartwarmed to see that he hasn’t changed one bit from when I watched him. I’ve decided to get back into the groove and rewatch his videos, both knew and old. So glad to be back!
One of the most important parts of this game is parrying, the game will teach you how to do it (like in the next level) with ranged projectiles but you can actually do it with melee attacks too! (when there is a yellow sparkle thats when you can parry a melee attack) Also you can boost your shotgun shots by punching the same time you shoot. EDIT: i'm an idiot and forgot he already got past the level where it teaches you how to parry
18:07 a fellow ultrakiller here (ig)... so i'll tell u some basic tips for ultrakill: 1. pls purchase the other varients of shotguns and revolvers 2. whenever u fire shotgun, press F just after u clicked left click and u'll have a mini explosion... 3. remember explosions do hurt u and others 4. if u use a weapon continously without switching to other weapons then it'll become stale and you'll get less style points for it... so frequently change weapons... 5. So u might know that "F" is for punch... & whenever a enemy atks at u by any means like physically of through some red orbs then just parry it with ur hands by clicking "F" at the right time... 6. whenever ur airborne ur multiplier increases (max upto 3 times)... so try to hit enemies while being in air or while jumping 7. sliding does not consume stamnia and u can slide forever in a single straight line 8. clicking "left ctrl" (for slide) and "space" for jump just after it will give u a boost of speed 9. whenever ur above enemies just hold "left ctrl" to down slam them and try to punch them for some health regen too 10. there are many secrets & challanges in each level of ultrakill and there're some secret levels too... 11. if this game gave u"Half Life2" vibes then go to the SANDBOX and u'll see something u never expected to see there... i can yap more about ultrakill but ig this should be enough for some quick easy tips...
Hello, YuB! Ultrakill pro here. Gonna give you some quick tips for gettin' better real quick! -By firing your shotgun and then punching almost directly after, you can perform a "Projectile Boost", and make one of your shotgun bullets explode! You actually did it against the Swordsmachine accidentally a couple of times. -If you slide, jump, then slide again as you hit the ground, you can gain speed quickly! -You can still keep your Piercer if you purchase coin-gun! Once you obtain a weapon archetype, you can press E to swap between weapon archetypes! -You can hold Q to access a weapon wheel or press different number keys to quick-swap weapons on the fly! Pressing Q switches to the weapon you were previously using. (You can also tweak settings to save the different weapon archetype you were using too!) -Holding CTRL during a stomp sends the opponent upwards with a shock-wave! It costs stamina to perform. -Sliding halts Stamina regeneration. -You can also punch coins to send them into an opponents weak point. They even bounce up afterwards, so they still count as airborne! -Don't be afraid to close the distance on enemies, as killing them and absorbing their blood is the only way to heal. -Git gud, lawl. That's all! Love the video, man!
Also the most efficient way to use coins as a beginner is quickly throwing them and instantly looking up and shooting them. Like very quickly. Who needs to aim at enemies anyway.
Ultrakill tips: 1: You can Punch your OWN shotgun bullets and they will EXPLODE when they hit stuff (This is an intended mechanic) 2: Almost everything in the game is parriable, including melee attacks, and when you parry you heal to full, so a really good player could pretty much never take damage and dish out a ton of damage with just their fists. 3: buy and use EVERY weapon varient. You can use all of them at once so there is no trade off, and some of them are super fun 4: Once you think you are starting to get good, try to speedrun a few levels and get a P (perfect) rank on them. It is a super fun challenge and, who knows, maybe if you p-rank enough levels after beating the game you can unlock a secret level or 2? 5: This game is ridiculously unbalanced, so dont worry about playing it "right." Do everything in the coolest way possible at all times. BLOOD IS FUEL. HELL IS FULL.
...EXPLODE when they hit stuff (This is an intended mechanic) Not at first! Originally this wasn't supposed to be this way but Hakita saw the bug and went "hell yeah" and made it an actual mechanic.
Wonderful intro! The game does become more and more interesting as every level keeps getting larger since the player progressively learns more and more movement tech. The most important tip I can give about the game: Try EVERYTHING. The devs made sure that the answer to almost any question of "Can I __?" is almost always YES. Combine weapons. Try out movement techs. 90% of the time you'll discover something that'll make you more powerful. I will not get into details as a lot of the fun of the game is discovering the sheer amount of ways one weapon interacts with another. Or discovering how certain enemies react. Be creative, and you'll be rewarded. There's no such thing as a crazy idea that won't serve a massive benefit.
Here are some tips from someone with 500+ hours in ULTRAKILL if you wanna play again. the different colored versions of the guns like the Marksman and Sharpshooter dont replace the Piiercer(blue revolver), its just a different option you can switch to. you can shoot the coins with a lot of other weapons and also deflect hitscan attacks with them, like Maurice's beam. You can parry your own shotgun bullets to shoot an explosive shot. Explosions deflect projectiles back at the enemy. You can shoot your shotgun explosives that you shoot with the charge shot to explode them prematurely. You can also buy other variants of the shotgun as well. Secret missions are definitely in the game and you can 100% play them if you look. Make sure you utilize parrying a lot too, its really helpful, it refuels your health and stamina. The Sharpshooter destroys projectiles if you shoot them with the alt fire. This one isnt a tip, but: The Malicious Face, the big rock head is named Maurice, and sometimes called "The Funny Rock"
@@YuB Also if you get S rank on Time, Score and Style you P-Rank it, unless you die and restart, then it's an S-Rank... Maybe something special would happen if you P-Ranked all the levels...
some tips: -press F (punch) and shoot the shotgun at the same time to create an exploding projectile -the coin pistol is actually really good and you should use it -slide and then jump at the same time to hop and traverse faster
i swear to god i have never been so mad at yub. he didnt parry one time after learning it. swordsmachine? nope. maurice the moss that teaches you to do melee parries? not once. "why am i not getting health?" THE GAME SAID CLOSE RANGE DAMAGE.
he did accidentally projectile boost in the swordsmachine secret encounter Aslo marksman so hard to use probably. because i suck :C Im stuck on corpse king minos :/
tips from someone with a bit too much playtime in ultrakill: punch everything, projectile or not, you can probably parry it (ex: the husk's (green zombie lookin guys) attack can be parried, despite it being a melee, not a projectile) parrying will heal you to full health (up to the hard damage limit) hard damage heals faster with higher style rankings style points are easier to obtain when using different weapons more often (ex: using the shotgun too often causes it to give less style) during the swordsmachine fight, you were actually punching your own shotgun shots, which made them stronger, this can be done with a few other weapons, but primarily the shotgun dashing makes you invulnerable, meaning you can dash through attacks to not get hit jumping after slamming gives a slight boost in jump height, and can be repeated to go further up the variants of weapons (ex: piercer, marksman, and sharpshooter revolvers) can all be used at the same time, meaning if you dont like how one works, you can use the other variants most weapons can synergize in one way or another (ex: piercer charge shot doing more damage when used with marksmans coins) some secrets are more rewarding than others, so keep searching (no spoilers, but one of them can by found in the meatgrinder, look up for an opening ;) ) hope these help!
tip: ANY kind of damage from close up will heal you. later in the game you will find tools to complement this mechanic. parrying restores health and stamina so i would reccomend going into the sandbox and practice parrying. parryable attacks unclude any projectile and attacks that have a yellow flash before it. mapping a mouse button for parrying helps too. btw try parrying your shotgun bullets.
A couple of tips from someone who has never played ultrakill 1. Get the marksman, it is one of, if not the best weapon in the game and it doesn't require you to get rid of your normal revolver to use it. 2. If you time it right you can deflect the bullets from the shotgun so that they do more damage. 3. When an enemy is about to attack it can flash either yellow or blue, yellow means that you can deflect the attack, and blue means that it can't be deflected. This also applies to melee attacks. 4. You regain all of your health that doesn't have hard damage and all of your stamina 5. Hard damage means that you can't regain that bit of health for a while, it goes away quicker the higher your style meter is.
when you were sliding at 9:51 you passed a little square, if you stand on the square and look up, there is a secret tunnel that'll lead to a secret level btw loving the video hope you have a great day YuB!
some tips: 1: Punching back red balls at enemies is called parrying 2: You can parry your own shotgun bullets by punching straight after you shoot. it explodes just like when you parry an enemies red ball. 4: Any red ball that is thrown by enemies is probably parriable 5: Sometimes, you can parry attacks that aren't red balls. Sometimes it's close ranged. For example, swords machines attacks can be parried. 6: Buying weapons at the beginning of the level doesn't remove the weapon you already had. You can quick swap between the weapons you've bought on the go. 7: The game is epic so please finish it Yubster
My guy he wouldn't have discovered it even if his life depended on him this guy doesn't even try to use logic like "oh I can parry red skull ball from tall man so I can parry red skull ball from rock dude" and my guy doesn't even try to apply video game logic and buy the marksman and try to see if he likes it more than the gun he has or if he can use both or even anything and he sucks so much at ground slamming and is always like "did i get him" but he doesn't consider looking at his style or blood being splattered under him or being healed or not hearing crushing noises and instead hearing the ground being hit and the enemies flying into the air this guy straight up sucks like how about next time when you GROUND slam and you Don't know how to do it well you look DOWN at what you are GROUND slamming like you aren't going to hit the enemy with a shot from your weapon if I were to look straight up and then ask " did I kill them" and also when he thinks he is Parrying swordsmachine but he is projectile boosting but he never knew what he was doing so he only punched and shot at the same time when he was close so I don't think he would have figured out he was the one punching his own bullets bruhhhhh
@@burnttoast7244short version: 1:can't use basic logic to deduce that if he can parry stray orb he can parry maruice orb 2:doesn't even try to look at the marksman to see it's function/if it's better/ if he can use both 3:he sucks at ground slamming and doesn't even use any indicators to tell if he hit or not / doesn't even look down to ground slam effectively 4:it's annoying that he never figured out that he was projectile boosting and not parrying the swordsmachine because he would only try to parry and shoot at the same time when he was close to the swordsmachine TL:DR he sucks at using basic logic + sucks at groundslamming + didn't figure out projectile boosting
The genuinely feels like playing the game for the first time again. Thank you Yub, this video was great. Also you can parry anything that flashes yellow as well as your own shotgun pellets. :P
bro AMAZING WORK WITH THAT BOSS. Please make it a series. Also: VERY IMPORTANT during the Swordsmachine fight, you did not deflect his attacks even once. You did something called "Projectile boosting" which is that you PARRIED YOUR OWN BULLETS ONTO THE GUY. On a side note, buy the marksman. The coin is literally the BEST weapon on the whole game according to many and I can't stress enough I would love a full series. This is my first video by you and I already wanna watch the full series. Edit: well you did parry once, my bad.
when the The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. You do not understand how loudly I gasped when this video popped up lmao Also tips since you asked for them: The guns you buy don't replace your current gun, you can swap between gun variants freely. The challenge being gold at the end means you actually did find the secret encounter, aka the swordsmachine fight. And one last thing, try using the pistol charged shot on big groups of enemies instead of just one guy. Hope you see this!
as someone with 1000 hours on this game, i can say for beginners instead of using the shotgun primary then punching, do them at the same time, this will do something called a "shotgun parry" which will make all your shots explosive, and will give you hella multipliers. You can also use a indirect ground slam to send light enemies (like those green ones with a mouth face) up, then look up quickly and do a shotgun parry to make them explode like fireworks, this will also give you hella points
Can't wait for you to see what the later layers have in store. I've always loved watching your videos so i'm glad I get to see you play one of my favorite games.
You NEED to play more, this game is amazing and is absolutely the perfect game for your channel. Don't let it Hollow Knight you.. P.S. the Swordsmachine fight you fought the first time was actually a secret encounter you got by going through those vents, sort of like for speedrunners and such and was the "secret encounter" from the results screen. The main way people are meant to fight him is in the next level, but it doesn't screw up your game if you do it that way, as it was intentional.
A couple tips that I haven't seen commented 1. If you see gray on the right side of your health bar that's known as "hard damage". Hard damage puts a temporary cap on your health but will dissipate quicker the higher style grade you have on the right side of the screen. 2. Connected to the last tip, switching weapons and being in the air while killing things will give you more style points and increase your style meter. 3. you can boost yourself by sliding and then launching a grenade from your shotgun beneath you 4. if you dash and jump in quick cessation you will preform a dash jump which just gives you a lot of momentum and can be chained into slide jumps by pressing slide and jump in the same manner. You are taught this later in the game but it is very good to know for the early levels with a lot of parkour involved. 5. There's so much stuff in this game that's very much intended but never really taught to you. For example shooting a grenade from your shotgun and then shooting it mid-air with your revolver will make a bigger explosion. Experiment with everything

hey yub a few tips as an ultrakill player myself a "yellow flash" indicates that the attack is parry-able a "blue flash" can not be parried, also parring will give restore health. 2 punching while shooting the shotgun will be "p-boosting" or projectile boosting it will hit one bullet of the shotgun and that bullet will explode on impact, also try dash jumping it gives more speed and distance.
I know I commented already, but I wanted to leave you a tip: if you have the green revolver by the time you reach 1-1 (you can buy it at the terminal at the start of each level), try tossing a coin into the fountain 😉
Fun facts with current loadout Standard piercer revolver: 1. Vertical piercing shots [charged shots] do more damage on large enemies [such as the swordsmachine]. 2. Depending on where you shoot, it does more damage [body
I got some tips: Anything that is a projectile (or shines obviously yellow like the swords machine's sword) is paryable with your punch, this includes your shotguns pellets, and some enemy melee attacks. Dashing makes you invincible so it's a good escape tool. The shotgun's secondary is a grenade, you can shoot it with your revolver for a huge explosion. Sliding and air time are great ways to maintain and build style points as well as dodge attacks. Overall just keep playing and you will get better!
wait i was looking for ultrakill videos but not THIS like WHAT also, finding almost every secret is insane! like how?!??! anyway, tips 1. each miniboss enemy has a different mechanic for getting angered. for example, the Swordsmachine hates being parried. 2. each gun color represents a variant of a gun. each one of them has different mechanics. for example, a red revolver ricochets bullets, and a green revolver tosses coins that bounce your bullets toward an enemy's weak spot. 3. all guns have alt shots, activated by right-clicking, whether hold and release or just click, depending on the gun. The alt shoots use the special mechanic of the gun variant. for example, the green revolver alt tosses the coin while the red revolver alt (held) charges the ricochet. 4. you can parry almost anything. whether it's a lunge, a fireball (even the malicious face's [the funny rock enemy] fireballs), a slash, or even a massive fist. parrying actually deals a lot of damage almost all of the time.
you should use the marks man upgrade. there is so much things you can do like 1. parry the coins by doing that the coin can be parried again until it hits the floor 2. you can hit the coins with two hit scan weapons like all the alt variants of the revolver like (The Piercer, Marksman [Duhh] and the SharpShooter) and another weapon you unlock later 3. hitting some projectiles like the Core eject From the shot gun Here [ 12:31 ] in the video and enemy projectiles that is probably scratching the tip of the ice burg of coins tbh. hope that help and love your videos dude
Tips: Marksman(Coin)is actually one of the best guns in the game and you should use it more if you punch as soon as you shoot with the shotgun you will make one of the bullets exploded on impact(projectile boost) If you want to know how to hit the coin more you should practice in the sandbox If you shoot 2 coins and shoot one of them the coin you shot will go to the other coin and it will make it stronger.
Quick tip: With the shotgun, if you punch like half a second after shooting, you can parry your own shotgun bullets, causing them to boost and explode on impact.
Here’s some tips for ya. The shotgun combo you where talking about is really cool, but here’s a trick you can do. If there is a group of lower level husks or enemies that you can easily kill you can shot and punch/parry it at same time. Making it so your own shot explodes. So parry your own shotgun shots for groups of enemies. You should buy the marksmen, by far the best weapon in the game. You were scared that buying the marksmen would replace your piercer, it doesn’t 7:53 . You can swap them mid fight by pressing E for 1 again after having the piercer equipped. While fighting the sword machines aka that yellow robot you fought in the second level. You should try to parry when it’s swinging. Cause it does a good amount of damage. There’s an insane amount of stuff to learn about this game. I only touched the surface, but I would recommend watching others play the game to pick up some skills. If I was wrong about any of the stuff I said feel free to correct me. I hope this helps😉
Try to P rank the level after completing it. To p rank a level you would want to get a S rank on the time by completing it in a certain time frame. A S rank on the enemy’s that’s competed by killing all enemies in a level. A S rank on the style to do that you need to get the ULTRAKILL rank at least once
Hey yub, some tips I must give you is, when you shoot your shotgun, you can punch your own bullets as seen in the swordsmachine fight. You can also buy more than one thing at the shop and have it equipped, you just have to cycle through your weapon varients by pressing the gun number then pressing it again(ex: the pistol number is 1, if you have the coin gun equipped and press 1 again, you can cycle to that gun. This works for every weapon in the game) also one more thing, if you dash and jump you go fast, if you slide and jump and continue that rythem, you can retain that speed and go fast (practice in sandbox it will help alot)
Never thought the day would come when i would see you play this awesome game. Tips wise, here's what i got: All weapons are useful, they each can combo with each other in some way Look through every level for any secrets, there are so many, maybe even ways to obtain other weapons. (Try not dying, completing levels fast, and getting as many kills and as much style as possible for a surprise! Press tab twice btw!)
Imagine dmc and quake has a baby, dmc and quake died in a car crash and the baby was raised by cocaine-boosted spider monkeys in the wild, then the baby got abducted by 80s aliens and the baby had to fight its way out That baby is ultrakill
Watching you not only find multiple secrets, not only fight the secret swordsmachine encounter, but to even accidentally Projectile Boost (punching your shotgun bullets) was fun to witness. One thing for the tips, as a certified ultrakiller, is that yellow flashes means you can melee an attack to parry it (alternatively use a close range shotgun shot). So that finishing move was you parrying the funny tall yellow robot into a fine red mist. I'd love to see more!
Hey YuB, as a (about) 8 year subscriber to the channel, and a certified ULTRAKILLer myself, a few tips for the game are here: The "deflecting" (technical term is parrying) during that swordsmachine fight was actually you punching your shotgun bullets, which makes them explode upon impact. You can parry the swordsmachine's shotgun and sword attacks if you practice timing, and if an attack flashes yellow you can parry it, if it flashes blue, you cant. Also you can parry nearly every projectile in the game. A very easy way to kill malicious face (more commonly known as maurice) is to repeatedly ground pound his face, he takes extra damage to slam attacks. Buy the marksman. Im being serious, if you want to speed boss fights up from 30 minutes to 1 minute, the coins are required. Also you can cycle weapon mods with E. The grades at the end of the level do actually matter, the higher grade you get, the more money you get, and the more weapon mods you can buy. The highest rank you can get is P, for ranking S on time, kills, style, and never dying. In 3-1 there is a secret door that requires you to P rank all levels in act 1. There is also one for act 2 and act 3 when the full release happens. Look around for secrets, in every level in layer 1, there are slabs, in 1-4 you can get a special weapon if you have activated all 4 slabs. That's about it, i'll make sure to drop some tips on any future ultrakill vids without spoiling too much, hope you see this
hey yub! good to see you enjoy the game its one of my favorite indie games anyways i am just gonna leave some tips: first of all the marksman is very good and i mean it second: try to parry more it heals you to max healt and it deals huge amount of dmg thats all i wanted to say have fun!
At 15:40 you didn’t actually deflect any of its attacks, you just figured out projectile boosting. Pretty much, if you shoot the shotgun and punch at the same time a pellet becomes explosive! It’s a great thing that helps with clearing rooms quickly.
18:10 here’s some tips: u can do A LOT of stuff with the marksman, even though it sounds dumb it’s super useful, u can parry ur own shotgun pellets if u shoot that punch almost at the same time, u can parry almost every attack in the game, including melee ones when the little star appears on the enemy(I doubt u noticed it though), the alt fire for the shotgun is basically a grenade witch u can shoot midair with the pistol. That’s all I could think of at the moment, there’s more guns to get and more combos u can make with them.
heres some tips coming from someone with 100 hours in ultrakill -Learn the movement, when it comes to ultrakill if you dont learn movement you die, and you’ll figure out why soon -Parrying is essential, when you parry an enemy it heals you, and its straight up just really important -learn the marksman, that coin gun is one of the most important thing in the game considering the tech you can pull off with it -get all the guns when you can, you WILL need them, Especially marksman -Most bosses have 2 health bars, one being a dark red, and the real one being bright red -Try to P-rank every stage, if you do then you unlock a cool thing -have fun, also make more videos on this please
For tips, practice the movement a bunch in your own time, the game is so fun once you master how to movement works (like one cool thing is get right up on a wall, jump then slam down and immediately jump, then right as you hit the ground jump again and you''ll get a massive jump boost in the air)
Watching someone play Ultrakill for the first time is a surreal experience. Things that *seem* obvious to experienced players (I.E, parrying the Mal face's beam, slam storage, proj boosing, and the marksman as a weapon being crazy), aren't as obvious to new players. So seeing somebody playing through the game, seeing that curiosity and wonder. It's awesome
FINALLY HE IS PLAYING ULTRAKILL!!! HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!! also, all those shots you thought you were deflecting was actually you punching your own shotgun bullets, which is called "projectile boosting" if you parried the swordsmachine then you would see a little modifier on the right under your score that says "+parry" in green. You should also slide a lot more, and you can slide sideways as well. you can jump out of a slide or a dash to jump better.
@Yub 1. Every time you shoot your shotgun, press the punch to parry one of the bullets. It will make it explode when it hits something. 2. If you buy another variation of a weapon, you can change the variations with the Q and E keys. 3.ULTRAKILL
Just so you know, you can swap between the revolver and shotgun with the 1 and 2 keys respectively or the scroll wheel. You're not locked to the shotgun once you get it (saying this because I didn't see you use the revolver after getting the shotgun). . Another tip: The weapons you buy in the shop are variants, not upgrades, so they'll change in function but are not necessarily better or worse. You're not locked to using them once you buy them either, you can also swap between variants and choose which ones to have equipped. . Also, little side note, you're actually supposed to fight the Swordsmachine and get the shotgun in 0-3, the level after the one you ended the video at. The Swordsmachine in 0-2 is a secret encounter (as you saw in the results screen). . Would love to see more of this game from you!
hey yub, hope your having a great day. if you decide to do another video on this heres some tips if a enemy or a boss does a little yellow flash it means their about to do an attack that can be parried with. i'd recommend you go in sandbox mode and practice with parrying the swordsmachine boss because you can literally just beat him with only parrys and also you should definitely get the marksman pistol because it is one of the best guns in the game, and dont worry you'll still have your normal piercer pistol on you because each gun basically has their own loadout and you can switch the order you get them in hope this helps
for some weird reason I'm not seeing many people say this, but in ultrakill its a big thing to swap between weapons a lot during fighting, not only for style, but also its way better for damage. I saw you only using shot gun when you got it during the swordsmachine which is not good :))))))) ALSO PLEASSESESESESESESE PLAY THIS GAME ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND ATLEAST POST UP TO 7-4 (layers 8-9 is coming soon) PLEASEESESESESESAESEASEESASEAESE YUB also (again) I remember watching you a lot like 2 years ago so this popping up in my recommended reminded me of like 2020-2022 which was nice (thank you for making an ultrakill video otherwise I wouldn't have gotten this video lol)
my friend started playing ultrakill this week and he says its amazing, i cant afford it so this is basically my only way to learn about it and see gameplay of it from one of my favorite youtubers. thanks yub!
you should read the terminals, they got tips for every weapon, enemy, or just tips in general. general tips are literally the first thing you see when approaching a terminal, enemy tips can be found by pressing the enemies tab, choosing an enemy, then scrolling down past their lore to their strategy section. the weapons one is a bit hidden, which I'm sure 90% of us (including me) missed it on their first run, but basically you choose a weapon in the weapons tab, and if you look at the bottom there's a "color" button and an "info" button, press info then scroll down past the lore (or read it if you feel like it) to find tips and tricks for that weapon
It’s nice to see you upload I haven’t watched a video since 2020 love you content Also punching shotgun shots does a special attack where one of the pellets explodes on contact You can also have many different types of revolvers and shotguns (and more weapons you have not gotten yet 🤫) Lastly the marksman is the best gun in the game lol
Hey YuB, casual Ultrakill player and fan here. Tips. Switch between weapons, for the shotgun you can parry the bullets, the coins are easier to hit than you think and they're stupid good, you can parry melee attacks which also gives blood to heal. Hope those help if you decide to do a part 2
a basic tip thats really important, since you didnt seem to understand it: whenever you purchase weapon variants, you can have all of them equipped and switch between them with E and Q. i think by default you can also use the scrollwheel, though you can disable it. another thing to note is that this game has plentiful skill checks early on. keep pushing past them, they make you improve a ton as a player. there arent any big ones in this part of the game though. and on the gun that lets you throw coins (the marksman): its okay if you arent good at using it or feel like you do worse using it! however, you will want to get good with it eventually.
my tips: -The malicious faces(rock heads) show up as a common enemy later on, and you can do a lot of damage by getting up close to it and both punching and shooting it with the shotgun. -You can parry a lot more attacks than the game lets on, so just punch everything like a crazy person and see what happens -Every weapon you will get has some sort of alternate attack you can use by pressing or holding right mouse. In conclusion, the best thing you can do to get better at ultrakill is experiment! I definitely learned a lot of new things by screwing around and replaying the first levels a couple times.
1. Get the coin variant for the revolver, its the weapon with the most "potential" 2. Experiment, everytime you get a new weapon or weapon variant, test it with other weapons and projectiles. Youll be surprised at how absurd the combinations get, for example the core eject shot (the grenade from the shotgun) you can shoot at with a charge shot from the piercer to cause a larger explosion. 3. Go in as blind as possible, tips are helpful but a good part of the fun is going through blind 4. You got the shotgun early from the secret encounter
I has some tips 1 coin gun is one of the best guns in the game. It can be pretty tough to use tho, Herb Messiah has a good video explaining the coin gun. 2 Pretty much everything can be parried, all projectiles can be parried and melee attacks can be parried. There will be a small yellow flash and sound effect to indicate that. 3 Use every weapon you can get your hands on, switching between them constantly too. 4 You can parry your shotgun bullets.
MAKE THIS A SERIES!!!! •Here’s some tips: you can parry/deflect any attack when you see the yellow spark coming from the enemy (some of them have it) when their about to attack •You can also deflect your own bullets, creating a stronger blast

so i'll tell u some basic tips for ultrakill:
1. pls purchase the other varients of shotguns and revolvers
2. whenever u fire shotgun, press F just after u clicked left click and u'll have a mini explosion...
3. remember explosions do hurt u and others
4. if u use a weapon continously without switching to other weapons then it'll become stale and you'll get less style points for it... so frequently change weapons...
5. So u might know that "F" is for punch... & whenever a enemy atks at u by any means like physically of through some red orbs then just parry it with ur hands by clicking "F" at the right time...
6. whenever ur airborne ur multiplier increases (max upto 3 times)... so try to hit enemies while being in air or while jumping
7. sliding does not consume stamnia and u can slide forever in a single straight line
8. clicking "left ctrl" (for slide) and "space" for jump just after it will give u a boost of speed
9. whenever ur above enemies just hold "left ctrl" to down slam them and try to punch them for some health regen too
10. there are many secrets & challanges in each level of ultrakill and there're some secret levels too...
11. if this game gave u"Half Life2" vibes then go to the SANDBOX and u'll see something u never expected to see there...
i can yap more about ultrakill but ig this should be enough for some quick easy tips...
why do u keep putting ... after almost everything lmao?
(You can also tweak settings to save the different weapon archetype you were using too!)
-Holding CTRL during a stomp sends the opponent upwards with a shock-wave!

Ultrakill tips:
1: You can Punch your OWN shotgun bullets and they will EXPLODE when they hit stuff (This is an intended mechanic)
2: Almost everything in the game is parriable, including melee attacks, and when you parry you heal to full, so a really good player could pretty much never take damage and dish out a ton of damage with just their fists.
3: buy and use EVERY weapon varient. You can use all of them at once so there is no trade off, and some of them are super fun
4: Once you think you are starting to get good, try to speedrun a few levels and get a P (perfect) rank on them.
HELL IS FULL.
...EXPLODE when they hit stuff (This is an intended mechanic)
Not at first! Originally this wasn't supposed to be this way but Hakita saw the bug and went "hell yeah" and made it an actual mechanic.

Than you jesus!!
Wonderful intro! The game does become more and more interesting as every level keeps getting larger since the player progressively learns more and more movement tech.
The most important tip I can give about the game:
Try EVERYTHING.
18:20 yes please make more videos about ultrakill
Tip: Maurice is the sexiest being in existence. Ask r/UltrakillMemes if you want proof.

tips from someone with a bit too much playtime in ultrakill:
punch everything, projectile or not, you can probably parry it (ex: the husk's (green zombie lookin guys) attack can be parried, despite it being a melee, not a projectile)
parrying will heal you to full health (up to the hard damage limit)
hard damage heals faster with higher style rankings
style points are easier to obtain when using different weapons more often (ex: using the shotgun too often causes it to give less style)
during the swordsmachine fight, you were actually punching your own shotgun shots, which made them stronger, this can be done with a few other weapons, but primarily the shotgun
dashing makes you invulnerable, meaning you can dash through attacks to not get hit
jumping after slamming gives a slight boost in jump height, and can be repeated to go further up
the variants of weapons (ex: piercer, marksman, and sharpshooter revolvers) can all be used at the same time, meaning if you dont like how one works, you can use the other variants
most weapons can synergize in one way or another (ex: piercer charge shot doing more damage when used with marksmans coins)
some secrets are more rewarding than others, so keep searching (no spoilers, but one of them can by found in the meatgrinder, look up for an opening ;) )
hope these help!

A couple of tips from someone who has never played ultrakill
4. You regain all of your health that doesn't have hard damage and all of your stamina
5. Hard damage means that you can't regain that bit of health for a while, it goes away quicker the higher your style meter is.

1: Punching back red balls at enemies is called parrying
2: You can parry your own shotgun bullets by punching straight after you shoot. it explodes just like when you parry an enemies red ball.
4: Any red ball that is thrown by enemies is probably parriable
5: Sometimes, you can parry attacks that aren't red balls. Sometimes it's close ranged. For example, swords machines attacks can be parried.
6: Buying weapons at the beginning of the level doesn't remove the weapon you already had. You can quick swap between the weapons you've bought on the go.

@@YuB no problem. Really hoping this turns into a full playthrough, this game has some wild bossfights.
as someone with 1000 hours on this game, i can say for beginners instead of using the shotgun primary then punching, do them at the same time, this will do something called a "shotgun parry" which will make all your shots explosive, and will give you hella multipliers.
OH MY GOD NO WAYYY! (i should’t even have to explain how awesome it is to see yub playing ultrakill)
A couple tips that I haven't seen commented
3. you can boost yourself by sliding and then launching a grenade from your shotgun beneath you
4. if you dash and jump in quick cessation you will preform a dash jump which just gives you a lot of momentum and can be chained into slide jumps by pressing slide and jump in the same manner.

"Blue flash indicates unparriable"-the game
That one boss with a lunge attack(no spoilers):
But yes
the "no" at 5:35 when he parried got me dying
I know I commented already, but I wanted to leave you a tip: if you have the green revolver by the time you reach 1-1 (you can buy it at the terminal at the start of each level), try tossing a coin into the fountain 😉
His brain will fry, nooo!
Fun facts with current loadout
Standard piercer revolver:
1. Vertical piercing shots [charged shots] do more damage on large enemies [such as the swordsmachine].
2. Depending on where you shoot, it does more damage [body
I got some tips:
Anything that is a projectile (or shines obviously yellow like the swords machine's sword) is paryable with your punch, this includes your shotguns pellets, and some enemy melee attacks.
Dashing makes you invincible so it's a good escape tool.
The shotgun's secondary is a grenade, you can shoot it with your revolver for a huge explosion.
Sliding and air time are great ways to maintain and build style points as well as dodge attacks.
Overall just keep playing and you will get better!
at blitzing speed, clicked with no hesitation
Same here lol
My guy
wait i was looking for ultrakill videos but not THIS like WHAT
also, finding almost every secret is insane! like how?!??!
anyway, tips
1. each miniboss enemy has a different mechanic for getting angered. for example, the Swordsmachine hates being parried.
2. each gun color represents a variant of a gun. each one of them has different mechanics. for example, a red revolver ricochets bullets, and a green revolver tosses coins that bounce your bullets toward an enemy's weak spot.
3. all guns have alt shots, activated by right-clicking, whether hold and release or just click, depending on the gun. The alt shoots use the special mechanic of the gun variant. for example, the green revolver alt tosses the coin while the red revolver alt (held) charges the ricochet.
4. you can parry almost anything. whether it's a lunge, a fireball (even the malicious face's [the funny rock enemy] fireballs), a slash, or even a massive fist. parrying actually deals a lot of damage almost all of the time.

you should use the marks man upgrade. there is so much things you can do like
1. parry the coins by doing that the coin can be parried again until it hits the floor
2. you can hit the coins with two hit scan weapons like all the alt variants of the revolver like (The Piercer, Marksman [Duhh] and the SharpShooter) and another weapon you unlock later
3. hitting some projectiles like the Core eject From the shot gun Here [ 12:31 ] in the video and enemy projectiles
that is probably scratching the tip of the ice burg of coins tbh. hope that help and love your videos dude
Tips:
Marksman(Coin)is actually one of the best guns in the game and you should use it more
if you punch as soon as you shoot with the shotgun you will make one of the bullets exploded on impact(projectile boost)
If you want to know how to hit the coin more you should practice in the sandbox
If you shoot 2 coins and shoot one of them the coin you shot will go to the other coin and it will make it stronger.
Should buy weapons as soon as they are available as well
Marksmen is really complicated and takes a lot of skill to get right so If you can’t get the hang of it straight away you’re not alone.
Game gets pretty difficult at some times so would recommend at later parts of the game try to take breaks here and there. I don’t but you should.
Try to P rank the level after completing it. To p rank a level you would want to get a S rank on the time by completing it in a certain time frame. A S rank on the enemy’s that’s competed by killing all enemies in a level. A S rank on the style to do that you need to get the ULTRAKILL rank at least once
Why should he watch other peoples gameplay he isnt even on the third level 😭😭😭😭😭

Also yellow sparks mean you can parry it, parry projectiles. they heal you to full.
0:37 "what could it be about this game that makes you guys want me to play it so badly" 15 seconds later *(this is awesome)*
R E L A T A B L E
i love how you got so many projectile boosts (parrying your OWN shotgun pellets) and didnt even realize it lmao
Ya I didn’t even know that was a thing lol
ULTRAKILLL‼️‼️‼️🔥🔥 (I have no idea what that is)
HES PLAYING IT!!! (Me neither bro)
Imagine dmc and quake has a baby, dmc and quake died in a car crash and the baby was raised by cocaine-boosted spider monkeys in the wild, then the baby got abducted by 80s aliens and the baby had to fight its way out
That baby is ultrakill
Watching you not only find multiple secrets, not only fight the secret swordsmachine encounter, but to even accidentally Projectile Boost (punching your shotgun bullets) was fun to witness.
One thing for the tips, as a certified ultrakiller, is that yellow flashes means you can melee an attack to parry it (alternatively use a close range shotgun shot). So that finishing move was you parrying the funny tall yellow robot into a fine red mist.
I'd love to see more!
Hey YuB, as a (about) 8 year subscriber to the channel, and a certified ULTRAKILLer myself, a few tips for the game are here:
The "deflecting" (technical term is parrying) during that swordsmachine fight was actually you punching your shotgun bullets, which makes them explode upon impact.
That's about it, i'll make sure to drop some tips on any future ultrakill vids without spoiling too much, hope you see this
ULTRAKILL CONTENT‼️‼️🔥🔥
You're a natural at finding secrets! Looking forward to see more of this playthrough
Hyped you are finally playing this game, hope you continue it!
I haven’t watched you since the undertake boom, now I see you in my recommended playing my favorite game? Let’s see it YuB.
hey yub! good to see you enjoy the game its one of my favorite indie games anyways i am just gonna leave some tips:
first of all the marksman is very good and i mean it
second: try to parry more it heals you to max healt and it deals huge amount of dmg
thats all i wanted to say have fun!
FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS PLEASE KEEP PLAYING THIS GAME ITS SO MUCH FUN
At 15:40 you didn’t actually deflect any of its attacks, you just figured out projectile boosting. Pretty much, if you shoot the shotgun and punch at the same time a pellet becomes explosive! It’s a great thing that helps with clearing rooms quickly.
I love how everyone's (including my own) reaction to parrying in ultrakill is just: *WOOUUGGHH!!!!*
This game rocks!
That’s all I could think of at the moment, there’s more guns to get and more combos u can make with them.
heres some tips coming from someone with 100 hours in ultrakill
-Learn the movement, when it comes to ultrakill if you dont learn movement you die, and you’ll figure out why soon
-Parrying is essential, when you parry an enemy it heals you, and its straight up just really important
-learn the marksman, that coin gun is one of the most important thing in the game considering the tech you can pull off with it
-get all the guns when you can, you WILL need them, Especially marksman
-Most bosses have 2 health bars, one being a dark red, and the real one being bright red
-Try to P-rank every stage, if you do then you unlock a cool thing
-have fun, also make more videos on this please
Glad to see you play this game, one of my personal favorites! I'd watch a series.
FINALLY HE IS PLAYING ULTRAKILL!!!
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!
also, all those shots you thought you were deflecting was actually you punching your own shotgun bullets, which is called "projectile boosting"
if you parried the swordsmachine then you would see a little modifier on the right under your score that says "+parry" in green.
You should also slide a lot more, and you can slide sideways as well. you can jump out of a slide or a dash to jump better.
@Yub
The Swordsmachine in 0-2 is a secret encounter (as you saw in the results screen).
.
Would love to see more of this game from you!
hey yub, hope your having a great day. if you decide to do another video on this heres some tips
if a enemy or a boss does a little yellow flash it means their about to do an attack that can be parried with. i'd recommend you go in sandbox mode and practice with parrying the swordsmachine boss because you can literally just beat him with only parrys
and also you should definitely get the marksman pistol because it is one of the best guns in the game, and dont worry you'll still have your normal piercer pistol on you because each gun basically has their own loadout and you can switch the order you get them in
hope this helps
for some weird reason I'm not seeing many people say this, but in ultrakill its a big thing to swap between weapons a lot during fighting, not only for style, but also its way better for damage.
I saw you only using shot gun when you got it during the swordsmachine which is not good :)))))))
ALSO PLEASSESESESESESESE PLAY THIS GAME ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND ATLEAST POST UP TO 7-4 (layers 8-9 is coming soon) PLEASEESESESESESAESEASEESASEAESE YUB
also (again) I remember watching you a lot like 2 years ago so this popping up in my recommended reminded me of like 2020-2022 which was nice (thank you for making an ultrakill video otherwise I wouldn't have gotten this video lol)
my friend started playing ultrakill this week and he says its amazing, i cant afford it so this is basically my only way to learn about it and see gameplay of it from one of my favorite youtubers. thanks yub!
you should read the terminals, they got tips for every weapon, enemy, or just tips in general. general tips are literally the first thing you see when approaching a terminal, enemy tips can be found by pressing the enemies tab, choosing an enemy, then scrolling down past their lore to their strategy section. the weapons one is a bit hidden, which I'm sure 90% of us (including me) missed it on their first run, but basically you choose a weapon in the weapons tab, and if you look at the bottom there's a "color" button and an "info" button, press info then scroll down past the lore (or read it if you feel like it) to find tips and tricks for that weapon
It’s nice to see you upload I haven’t watched a video since 2020 love you content
Also punching shotgun shots does a special attack where one of the pellets explodes on contact
You can also have many different types of revolvers and shotguns (and more weapons you have not gotten yet 🤫)
Lastly the marksman is the best gun in the game lol
Hey YuB, casual Ultrakill player and fan here. Tips. Switch between weapons, for the shotgun you can parry the bullets, the coins are easier to hit than you think and they're stupid good, you can parry melee attacks which also gives blood to heal. Hope those help if you decide to do a part 2
Yub a thing that will help you in ultrakill is when a yellow flash comes from an enemy that means they are going to do a parriable attack.
i’d love to see a whole series on this!!
a basic tip thats really important, since you didnt seem to understand it:
whenever you purchase weapon variants, you can have all of them equipped and switch between them with E and Q. i think by default you can also use the scrollwheel, though you can disable it.
another thing to note is that this game has plentiful skill checks early on. keep pushing past them, they make you improve a ton as a player. there arent any big ones in this part of the game though.
and on the gun that lets you throw coins (the marksman): its okay if you arent good at using it or feel like you do worse using it! however, you will want to get good with it eventually.
my tips:
-The malicious faces(rock heads) show up as a common enemy later on, and you can do a lot of damage by getting up close to it and both punching and shooting it with the shotgun.
-You can parry a lot more attacks than the game lets on, so just punch everything like a crazy person and see what happens
-Every weapon you will get has some sort of alternate attack you can use by pressing or holding right mouse.
In conclusion, the best thing you can do to get better at ultrakill is experiment! I definitely learned a lot of new things by screwing around and replaying the first levels a couple times.
But left click is the normal fire
@@Vetrical im so directionally challenged bro 💀💀💀 ill change it
I literally started playing Ultrakill last week this is insane 😭it’s super fun PLEASE keep playing it
1. Get the coin variant for the revolver, its the weapon with the most "potential"
3. Go in as blind as possible, tips are helpful but a good part of the fun is going through blind
4. You got the shotgun early from the secret encounter
I has some tips
1 coin gun is one of the best guns in the game.
•Here’s some tips: you can parry/deflect any attack when you see the yellow spark coming from the enemy (some of them have it) when their about to attack
•You can also deflect your own bullets, creating a stronger blast
