    I love this guy. As a low budget vegan I have used it for a lot of my recipes. It works a lot better than my nutri ninja IQ for blending most things. It even purees frozen pineapple for dole whips. 😍 if you are in a budget I would highly reccomend.

    I've not ever used a food processor because I don't like a lot of gadgets in my kitchen. I'm a bit of a minimalist. But I am getting interested in getting one, so I appreciate your input on these. Thankyou.

    You should ALWAYS unplug the food processor before you put your hand inside. Also, it's a good idea to start it first and then slice the veggies. I plan on buying one if these with my amazon gift cards. Thanks for the video.

    Make sure the center post is attached to the work bowl and work bowl is locked into place on the base. When you lock, the handle of the work bowl should be in the middle - watch the beginning of the video. The chopping blade should insert right onto the post. Hope this helps...and it's not a dumb question :-)

    A little more information about the food processor after reading the instructions and using it to make Zucchini tots. The manual states to cut the items so that they fit in the chute short enough so the food pusher can be used. This helps the processor to cut with consistent thickness of the slices and keeps the items from bouncing off the blade in the chute. The on and off/pulse button are mechanical. You can feel them click under the buttons soft cover. The instructions state "Press the OFF/PULSE button before placing the workbowl on the base of the processor." I'm sure this was not done or the unit would not have started up the way it did when the lid was put on. The on button must have been pressed at some time, so the unit was on. The lid just had to be put on to complete the safety switch. There was no danger or malfunction with the food processor. Both of these are just procedural errors. The demo in this video is the FP1600b. My unit is the 1700b. One thing not mentioned and it could be because the 1600b doesn't have these is that the 1700b has four suction cups on the bottom which pretty much glue it to a smooth surface. I have very smooth countertops and found it difficult to move the food processor. I'm not complaining about this and in fact I like that it's so secure. For a $25.00 food processor I can't complain about it at all. Considering I saw one of the multi-use do it all, hand crank food slicer, dicer, mincer do-dads at Walmart for only $14.99, this food processor is a much better deal.

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. I checked expensive units, but there seems to be alot of break-down and plastic parts that eventually need replacing. I bought mine cheap at Walmart and it does exactly what I want it to. However, the center base is stuck and we're having problems removing it. The noise level is NOT too much, as the lady indicated. You're only using it for a minute or so, so it's no louder than a blender or mixer. For the price, it's fantastic! Still don't know how to remove the center base, so any advice would be helpful. (We're turning it counter-clockwise, but it won't budge.) I would still buy this all over again.

    That looks very similar 2 a Kohl's exclusive Food Network branded 8 cup food processor. The Food Network version does have pulse is a separate button. This might be a slight are you design to differentiate it from the Kohl's Food Network version. Slicing disc is set up in the same manner.

    just a tip, you might you'd get better results if you diced the onions by hand and added it to the tomatoes after you've processed them so you don't just get onion flavored tomato juice. also two groups of tomatoes can help for getting some chunky and pureed consistencies in your salsa.

    Did you ever figure this out Brittany?
    I'm having the same issue. It seems that my chopper doesn't even look the same as bestkitchenreviews' does. There's about 1.5 inch tube steaming lengthwise down from the blade.
    I think I'm going to return this item and just tell the sales rep that it doesn't work after using it for 15 minutes or so. (that way, they can't cross reference if the item is faulty).
    Time to go on Amazon and buy a better one for the same price.

      I'm not sure if you are still having this problem, but I just talked to a representative for this product. Your problem sounds the same as mine. The center post could be stuck in the bottom of the chopping blade. I had to use some pliers to pull them apart. Once I got them separated, the problem was solved.

      bestkitchenreviews Hello, bestkitchenreviews. Thanks for the reply. The problem with mine is the same as the ones the other users you commented are facing. Basically, there is some weird square shaped solid shaft coming out from the inside of the hollow shaft of the chopping blade. So, the blade is around 2-3 inches higher from the bottom of the bowl and the lid cannot be closed. I'm assuming it's some manufacturing issue?

    • @bestkitchenreviews
      @bestkitchenreviews  10 лет назад

      Big Boss Yes, it must be a manufacturing issue because the one I reviewed had no solid shaft inside the chopping blade. The blade fit right onto the center post without a problem. I would suggest exchanging it for another one.

    • @Naked_Snake
      @Naked_Snake 10 лет назад +1

      bestkitchenreviews Yeah, I would assume so. I have the white one though. But even in the box and instructions for the white one, they don't have a shaft. Only problem is it's too late now. My parents decided to open this after more than a year after buying it and don't have the receipt anymore. I suppose the silver lining here is we learnt that you need to open your purchases as soon as you get them. Cheers! :D

      +Sei Yong tee Hi Sei, yes, put the nuts in and pulse a few times. The unit will process nuts but they may not be uniform in size. I hope that helps. Please subscribe if you haven't already :)

    I had a problem connecting the top piece in order for it to lock in place and start. It is just awkward and makes me feel dumb. I wish there were letters on the top and the food part so I could connect letter A to letter A. :(

    You don't show how to assemble it. I got the cover on but now can't get it off. It is not in the same position as what yours shows.

    Does the manual tell you how to turn off and on the machine? LOL I think because she was unaware of the fact that she didn't check herself to see if it was off, she didn't like it. She was mad because she didn't cut it off, I was like cool that they had the safety feature in place for those reasons. LOL

    Very disapointed with this black and decker food processor. I could not use the chopper and the grater at the same time. had to do one process and then the other. Had an old processer for years so this purchase was and upgrade. Don't think so. Thank GOD for yard sales.
