Sadly, both Ray Thomas (the man playing the flute and contributing vocals) and Graeme Edge (the older man on the drums) have now passed away. Thankfully, they were both still around on the night the Moody Blues were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Wonderful performance of this great song. I like the way you appreciated the mood and passion in this live performance.
One of my favorite songs of all time, and one of the few songs (not around a holiday like Christmas) that was #1 on the pop charts - 1st in 1968 then again in 1972

The lead singer, Justin Hayward is still singing and still touring. Though not with an orchestra, this song and his voice are still beautiful and passionate.

this is an awesome live version but the full studio version with the spoken word ion it is the best way to hear this song. with well over 200 songs, the Moodies have a lot to offer
