Bought our MK1 (98) in 2013. Just put her in for an mot, little rust on rear sill near jack point but not near it, ....and...thats was it! Amazing reliability. I changed the lower shock mount rubbers as they were shot last year, (pain) and front springs. Part from discs/pads/tyres thats it, the rear diff harmonic damper fails but you can silicone btw..them again. ours has 220,000 Miles..still going..just use it as an alternative to the car in winter months. £700 eBay punt with 12 months mot in 2013..
ditto.I got a 2000. gotta love the double wishbones, ground clearance, interior space, and well everything else. I don't think that can be said about newer Hondas unfortunately. but I hope they turn things around with the 2013 accord & civic :)
It basically means that it has four-wheel-drive. The front wheels are always powered, but when it senses that the rear ones need power two, it engages the four-wheel-drive. Nothing too serious, but it works in the snow and ice.
well, I subscribed to you because I'm thinking of getting one of these. In the UK, you can pick up a 100,000 mile 1999-2002 model up for around £1,000 - £1,500. I'm undecided between that an a Nissan Xtrail. ( which produces similiar figures for similiar value ), but the Nissan's seem to be a bit rarer... so maybe Honda parts would be cheaper to come by if and when I needed them. Although.. being British, I'd want the manual.
@hondaftw1234 Yeah. It had been on and off for a while (And the ABS would kick in unnecessarily). Recently took out the fuse, drove around, put it back in, and haven't had any problems with it. Weird.
Nice video, I had a crv myself 1999. Great car I traded it in with 158000 miles. Rock solid. Now have a 2011 cr-v.
I have 429000 on mine and going strong!
jojosmoothie that's amazing!

Hi, have you done any rav4 reviews?

started a new video series on cleaning up a 1998 CR-V with 100k miles on it. thanks for this video also, though i think you accidentally had mute on?

Nice V man! Good to see some CR-V love. :)
Rear abs sensors go out. We replaced ours with OEM about 90 bux each plus labor. No biggie. All good now.
Wow!

Uhm, Toyotas are just so boring! And this gen Rav4 is just plain ugly! If you can, get a 2nd gen. CR-V, but thats just my own personal recommendation.
