We were very fortunate to be able to come up and see everything. Everyone was so nice and warm, my biggest excitement was meeting Justine, I asked her to sign a cookbook for me. I couldn't get done smiling the whole day. Thank you for everything you guys do.
It's so cool to creat something from nothing. I admire the fact that it took actual hard work to live day to day. It's something that's missing in our country. If you wanted water you had to walk to get. If you wanted warmth you had to build a fire. I realize how lucky I am to be able to flush a toilet or turn on the tap or get in my car and drive to a store or restaurant where I don't have to cook if I don't want to. Thanks for showing us a look into history.
We have Pioneer days in Winchester KY in memory of Daniel Boone! It will be held September 3rd and 4th,2022. Ya'll come lots to eat, drink and see! Yay for our Pioneering ancestors! Your video was great! Love ya!😊👍
You need a link to your organization and any videos you may have published. And a bit more advertising would help. I'm from Lexington, but I heard nothing.
Thanks for this video. My grandmother's family is Missouri French and go back to the founding of Ste. Genevieve. Most of the family still lives in the Old Mines/Ste Genevieve area, but grandma left that area more than 75 years ago. It's such a fascinating town and area with a rich history. Few people known that Ste. Genevieve has the largest collection of colonial French homes and buildings in the US. It even has more than New Orleans. It's like stepping back in time each time I return to visit family.
This looked like so much fun. I so wish I could go there. My family is not into history. I'm too old to drive there on my own. I'm happy you are able to do this for yourselves and your fans. At least I got to see this video. Americana at its best. I thank you.
My ancestors also are descended from Jean Baptiste Bequette. I was just there a few weeks ago researching this lively little town. Are you a cousin? Margo Brown
Wow, such a glorious day... what a magnificent site to see several American flags waving in the wind against a beautiful backdrop of sunny blue skies, green grass and smiling faces. Thank you for the tour, Justine & Ron #GodBlessTheUnitedStatesOfAmerica 🇺🇸
Oh! This was wonderful! Ty Ron and Justine for posting this and giving those of us who coundlnt be there a peek at everythung. I am in love with the baskets!!
Found this channel through Townsends, I have to say...I love both of your channels and the simplistic ambience it gives my (modern) home when I play them here in FL. Thank you for creating this content! :)
It's so nice to see these old structures in such beautiful condition. Too many of our beautiful houses and buildings, here in North America, have disappeared due to the so called progress of man. But it would have been nice to see the cars stored, in a high rise parking garage out of site, God help me, lol. I do appreciate the way that you integrate the past and future. The horse and carriage is amazing and this town is breathtaking. I just love this video and I love you two.
That was really nice Ron, we use to have get togethers like that here. Dressed in the period costume of the day. The building are so well kept it's amazing. I just love the old styles. Small room, low doorways are so easy to keep warm in the winter. Justine has given my love to the old way of cooking back . Thank you.
Looked like a whole lot of fun Ron. Storms at night will let you know where your shelter skills need a little touching up. Thank you and Justine for another fun glimpse into the past.
I was definitely born in the wrong century! Loving this carriage ride tour and walk through, it's the next best thing to actually being there in person. ❤ Love your videos!
Very nice!!!! Kandye has beautiful hat boxes for sale!!! My 3rd great-grandmother was born in 18th century Missouri. I wonder if she lived in one of those houses.
Ron and Justine, this video is so beautiful!! I loved seeing the streets of old St. Genevieve. It brought back such wonderful memories of my childhood when our family lived in St.Mary’s and would go to St. Gen every week for shopping, dining, doctor appointments, etc. That was a long time ago (1960’s😳) and it still has the timeless beauty I remember!! The event looked like a wonderful time for all. Thanks for posting! ❤️
Lord Ronaldo - I wanted to be there soooo bad! This is my kind of history event! If I didn't have clients closing the sale & moving that weekend I would have gotten on the plane! I can't wait to see y'all & Ste Genevieve!! Love & fun from Goldrush Granny! 👵🐎🐎🐎
Oh how I wish I could have been there. I love seeing all the historical places. It's so wonderful to see people like you and Justine preserving all this history. Thank you for sharing the video.
You all will be doing better than 90% of people in Ameeica if there is every an EMP that knocks out the electricity permanently, or if America’s economic system collapses. Now you need to find a place where you can put those skills into everyday practice, and live off grid.
@@teresahiggs4896 my wife and I did live completely off grid for 5 years. You prefect those skills very quickly as well. Our fore-parents were very smart.
This was a wonderful overview of the Pioneer Days event. Makes me miss touring historic areas and my former volunteer work at a state historic park in California. I really appreciate, enjoy, and look forward to the videos on both channels. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
Kudos to everyone who arranged and participated in this event. What an uplifting video showing such a nice little town. The demonstrations of the different crafts and skills was interesting and educational. I really am interested in the different baskets exhibited. Thanks for helping to keep our history alive and respected. Wishing you a successful and fun event this coming May. Take care and God Bless America. 🫂❤️🙏🇺🇸🌎🕊
Had to watch this again! Everything is beautiful and green! So cool to see where you work Justine & the museum you both work at part time. Beautiful! Loved the Shire horse! You both looked great! Sure would have enjoyed being there!
I'm so glad to see history being preserved and kept alive! I wish my area was like that but here ( in the south east) people focus on the negative aspects of history and try to erase any vestige of the contrary. Keep doing what you're doing because you are doing great!!!!!
Looks like a wonderful day I would have loved to visit if I could. I love the olden times when everyone took such pride in all they made and day to day life. Really enjoy your videos. Thank u for sharing.
Wonderful video and thank you so much for the tour. Love your channel, as a first generation American myself I love to learn about the Country that allowed my parents a life after being run off during WW2. God Bless America!
I loved the tour! The town is beautiful! I wish I could have been there to enjoy and take in all the history, but I live too far away. Again, I enjoyed the tour!
That's a great event you have there! If i lived a bit closer i would be there in a minute! In this part of NY state we have the Battle of Newtown reenactment every couple of years.
Awesome video! im a descendent of some of the first founders of St. Genevieve. It has so much history, hoping that I can visit and learn more stories of my ancestors!
I loved everything - From that beautiful Shire horse to all the friendly folk and the wares they were selling. It reminds me of the local farmer's markets held on Hardwick VT's town park. Just by looking at some of the houses in the video, I could tell a few were from the 1700's. (I spent my early childhood in a very old house that was since restored and christened "The Jug Tavern". It's now the main office of the Ossining NY Historical Society.) I love all your videos. They bring me to very pleasant places.
I wish I lived closer I’d love to have gone and met you all. I saw a couple of things I wanted to buy. But my favorite thing about the whole day was the newbie guy who was just so happy to be alive! I hope he finds a place there and you all become good friends. He looked like he would be so much fun
Thank you for sharing this with us, Ron! I loved walking through the Pioneer Day celebration with you! I love this period of time, and that's why I watch you two so much! Love you both! Tonda in Ohio!
I like all the displays, and the old buildings. I would like to know all the stories behind them.Hoply in the future come to see Pioneer Days.David Back.

The braiding job on the horses tail is amazing. A beautiful town. My husband and I at lunch at the oldest brick building west of the Mississippi. I don't recall if it was in St. Genevieve or St. Louis.
