Question: if you use the standard dash formula, do you have to write all the hydrogens? In other words, can you write for example C=C without writing the hydrogens?
@@jOeCHEM What about writing CH2=CH2, as in a condensed form but showing the double bond, not with H's branching out? In other words, some parts condensed some parts branched?
@@MrYahya0101 Yeah, that you can definitely do! Sorry if I misunderstood your question at first, but if you choose to explicitly show any C's then be sure to show any/all H's attached to each given C (whether you draw the C-H bond or have it condensed such as CH2)

If you're not using bond line (and are explicitly drawing the carbon atoms) you MUST draw in the hydrogens.
