Andy built me a K24 for my RSX type S a few years back, turned out beautiful. I guess you can call him the K Series guru. He is a excellent mechanic and very timely, but most of all his pricing is quite reasonable.
Wow! Some tight racing there around 3:31. Thank you so much for the audio, great to hear a K-series doing that thing it does :) Loved having that lap at the end to get a feel of how the car behaves
Are you limited to manual transmission in this series? I heard you talking about milking power from every angle since you're HP limited and a few people are installing BMW DCTs into their S2000s. Shifts ungodly fast and would help against your battles with detuned vettes and whatnot.
@@dwayne1star317 the F series is practically a race engine, the k series was mass made and put into various different cars. There’s quite a few differences

again with the its just a $1000 engine. gtfo. In order to make the engine a RWD setup and to get power up to f20 standards costs more than a $1000. not sure how much
In terms of the K24 itself, you can find them for $1000. However you’re correct in saying that it costs more than that to get it “up to standard”. The swap alone costs around 8-10k depending on how ocd you are about new vs used parts. I’m speaking from recent experience. I just got my k swap from these guys at ASM and where I thought I was gonna spend maybe 8k, I’m about 10-11k in right now due to needed new parts apart from the swap package. No fault of ASM’s though. I think it’ll be worth it in the long run from an affordability standpoint based on the F series being harder to get parts for etc. However, I do prefer the sound of the F over the K series.
He's speaking about the serviceability of the engine. You can hoard all the K20/k24 blocks right now and race for years compared to relying on the low amount of used F20 engines on the market. A bolt on k24 with a k20 head will make more HP than a f20.
@Phil Gledhill the K24 has a lower compression and the bigger displacement is only good for torque. The f20 is maxed out for its NA potential and requires costly upgrades to bump HP. The k series just has more bang for your buck when modifying it.

It was amazing seeing these S2000’s go head to head with Corvettes at GridLife GLTC.
My favorite colors! ❤
Killer car-killer track!!WOW..super fast
The lap times they get with only 206 HP is insane.
Crazy I lived in Louisville and had no idea about them. Would have been awesome to run by the shop
A K-series is on the "someday" list for my Elise. Why the K24 over K20? Torque?

No way. Trans2K.
where can I find the adapter kit for that? is it on a stock stk box? sorry if the question was asked already
What wheels are those on car #90? 2:34 for clarity.
Looks like Cosmis XT-006's
Konig hexaform 18x10.5”
@6:14 the top was about to rip off!
just some "active aero" lol
Damn... wonder how much Ben's civic cost?
2k max
Aero is the key.
I havent trusted K series for RWD application since Covid started. 4 years later, I still don't.
Spec MX-5 global car is 120k, makes this look like a ‘deal’
On sale used = 35k
206hp for a k24?
This race has a power limit, even the corvettes are detuned all the way down to the 200hp range.
F SERIES > k series
The F series found in the S2000 is a K series. It's the father of the K20.
@@dwayne1star317 so then F Series = K Series

Bro Said a K24 from a TSX is a $1000?! What year are you living in LMFAO. No way in hell you find that motor for less than $3K.
In CA where typically things are the most expensive, you can find plenty K24A2s off a TSX for $1k lol
@@ph0kingbrian A good K24, not one out of a CRV with a cut harness and no transmission scrub.

I'd say 20-30k

@@kenS87 of course it will, it’s bigger displacement. If you use a k24 crank on the F20 and turn that into an F24c it would still match or beat it
