great show guys, thanks, you don't use a washclothe in the military, the back is somewhat hard, but you can get clean without, it is a luxury, I never forget that
Great show as always. Like a fireside chat about the state of State football! I am not as worried about losing NIL for one down year as I am players seeing that DD will be here for several more years and we have a definite ceiling with him here. Kenton says it best that winning fixes everything and our current ceiling is 8-9 wins and finishing 3-5 in conference. I like how you compared TOB to DD. TOB completely mismanaged Russell Wilson. He let Russell walk away to Wisconsin and won the Rose Bowl. That got TOB fired.
TOB was also miserable in the recruiting department. Not saying Doeren is cleaning it up (he’s not), but TOB did literally nothing. And yes, also ran off Russ
I’m convinced that we need to follow the NFL model with NIL. Pay the players in the trenches a premium and QB (if you have a proven QB). Everyone else is secondary.
It is absolutely not objectively true that DD raised the floor. One fallacy is comparing 6 years vs 12 years. Three 9 win seasons vs 1 is really more like 1.5 vs 1 when you account for tenure. TOB did not win less than 5 games ever. DD gave us a 4-win season in Year 7. True TOB did have two 5-win seasons but that was in years 1 and 3, and we all know that third year was only due to Nate Irving's car wreck. He was our Payton Wilson of that era and made THAT big of a difference.
or that you've been hoodwinked and also haven't recognized the mid to lower level competition we played year in and year out during the TOB years was better than the likes of today.
Exactly right. And again, as I've been saying, the "floor" isn't where a program should be aiming. You can't advance by looking down at the floor. The ceiling should be the only focus, and we've seen the heights that Doeren can take us. And it hasn't included a single 10-win season (no, a forfeit from UCLA doesn't count) or a single trip to the ACC title game. He hasn't "built a program" in Raleigh in any significant way on the national stage. It's just absurd that the athletic department is so content with low expectations that they've actually continued to EXTEND this guy's contract over the years. You can't help those who refuse to help themselves, I'm afraid.
There has got to be some sanity brought to the portal. Players on 3rd and 4th teams is a completly asinine situation. There needs to be a 1transfer in a career rule. 😤
@@LockedOnWolfpack You're exactly right. The "wild west" atmosphere in college athletics is out of control and has detracted from the pageantry that made college sports so unique. Kids that are playing on their 3rd or 4th college team and are hanging around until they're 25 years old are just ridiculous.
Kenton’s subtle shaking of the head when Grayson calls them the Colgate Toothpaste is some good comedy! Great show guys!
Hahahah appreciate you!

Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where this heads

Did we EXPECT 8-9 win seasons every year with TOB though? With hope that we’d win 10? No.
That right there tells you Doeren has raised the floor

Coaches can stop this 💩 by banding together to just say no to these habitual team jumpers.
Sadly it feels like it’s too late

They opened Pandora’s Box and didn’t think twice about regulating it. And now here we are

I hope I'm wrong, but I predict they will lose key players through the portal.
Which ones in particular?
