Thank you so much for this video. I have had my K-Mix KMX52 for about 12 years now and I bake bread a few times every week. Mine started to make an awful grinding noise when mixing a batch of bagel dough. I immediately ordered a new gear and with the help of your video, my Hubby replaced the new gear and now my machine is as good as new. I am so delighted as my particular KMix was so expensive 12 years ago and with all the other bits and bobs I've added to it over the years, I would have cried if we weren't able to fix it. It's back up and running like a good'n. Thank you so, so much. You have no idea how much I appreciate you making this video. Lee :)

I was ready to buy a new mixer when I came across your video. The repair worked perfectly and it cost only a fraction of the cost of a new device. I am so happy when it is possible to extend the life of a product and thus contribute to reducing waste and preserving the planet. Thank you very mutch!
The main cog wasn't my problem but thanks to your video i managed to find and fix the broken part, so happy all the spares are available. Thanks for your effort!
Firstly, brilliant, as with perseverance managed to complete this replacement. On the flip side, there were a few steps that could be expanded on as they needed more clarity or explanation of sub-steps e.g. how to un-house the damaged cog, how to unscrew the round frame.
Thanks very much for this. Thought I'd try my K-Mix to make pizza dough instead of my trusty Panasonic bread maker. It started grinding halfway through the kneed. I'll need to fix it and will then return this pretty but delicate machine back to the cupboard.
@@alwaysCuriousOne Understood, but I thought a dough with 600g flour would be fine, enough for 4 pizzas. Might try once more with minimum speed and more water, once I've fixed it...

Thank you for this very helpful video. I changed the cog wheel as I thought it was the Issue as it does turn on and the cog was slightly worn down mixer still does no rotate or move. Might you know what the issue is?
Hi there, if the mixer is not moving at all nor making noise, then it is probably an electronic problem not mechanical. The mixer has 2 cards. I onced replaced the input filter circuit card, and it worked for me. Good luck.
Just bought a replacement for the well worn down cog as per this video. Ive just attempted to repair and noticed that the drive shaft spiral bit that drives this cog has also worn down. It looks to be a part of the motor and i cant obviously see if it is replaceable and cant find the part anywhere. Any ideas?
Hi, the main shaft is usually of a stronger material. I doubt it is messed up. It is connected straight to the engine, so I must say I would have invested in a better mixer . Sorry.
My speed control has always been sensitive, only working sometimes after giggling, and now not at all. Motor was always fine and hasn't been heavily used. Any idea what would cause speed control to stop working?
Hello, thank you for this good video. I have the same problem with the kitchen machine from my daughter. But i can not find the right main cog wheel. Have you a partnumber from this main cog wheel. She has the Kenwood kMix (KMX75). Greatz and thank you. Johan
@@johanv4128 Hi Johan, did you succeed in mounting the part no. KW710638 on your KMX75? I am also searching for the right replacement of the cogwheel for my KMX75 on ebay, but the list of the models covered by the part no. KW710638 on ebay does not include the model KMX75. What did you experience? Thank you.
Im always a bit confused because kitchenaid people say their machine needs less power because its a direct drive? Judging from this video, isnt the kmix also a direct drive machine?
Thanks for that. Any idea how to disassemble the head tilt mechanism? My head is stuck in the down position and the head release lever won't budge it. Cheers.

Hi, How do I get the speed knob off from the side to replace it?
If just the knob, you can pull it. If the electronics, you need to reach it from the bottom of the machine
Thanks for this. Is there any particular way to put the cogwheel?
No, it is straight forward
Thank you so much

This kmix is not a direct drive design as gears drive the engine's power to the handle.

Hi, to me it looks like you should be able to access the locking mechanism if you remove the 3 screws for the top cover,25 to 32 seconds .
Is there a link to buy this cog wheel? Nice video but the way. 👍
