The infuriating part about value village raising their prices is that they don't actually buy any product. So their cost of goods has not increased whatsoever. All their clothes are donated. It actually makes me really mad when I shop there
YES, it's insane! I used to work there, and on the first day the manager was telling me "we get a lot of **** because we get so much stuff for free and then re-sell it, but we give a lot to charity and stuff." I'm sure they do, but it doesn't justify how much their prices have gone up. It's nuts. I saw a little PLASTIC cup there with Elsa from Frozen on it the other day, and it was freaking 4.99. WHAT??
@@LeahWhispersASMR omg yeah it's wild. I get they give to charity too but the other week I was there and there was like a pair of old socks for 4 bucks. Whyyyyy?!
@@LeahWhispersASMR Goodwill has also gone up on their prices. I help my friend out by buying clothes for her 2 kids, and the other day I went to go buy a little skirt for the little girl, and it was double what the price used to be even 2 months ago! It’s FREE donated stuff! What the actual crap?! There’s no shortage of donated items, so why jack up the prices?
But, I absolutely love all the stuff you found! We don’t have a value village here in south Texas where I live. But I live for thrift stores!
Where I live we have goodwill and it's ridiculous the prices they have on stuff given to them I go there for things I can use in creating or my Wreath making.
I saved this video for a time when I desperately needed one that I could count on making me feel better. Only part way in and it is. Thank you. I have never gone to a Value Village. I must. Leah!! I remembered that you do have book 1 & 3 of the Nora Roberts trilogy! You shared them in a video about two years ago! The thrift store didn’t have book 2 though which sucks! I live in California and our goodwill prices are criminal. It’s a shame. My daughter and I are looking for independent thrift shops to go to during the summer :)
Hahaha! You and me both. I just realized my 20 year high school reunion is not really THAT far off. I don't even want to think about it lol 🤣 I agree, Value Village prices are so sad. I always try to go to the smaller ones first. I have a few where I live that are all non profit and the proceeds go to charity, so they're my favorite to go to 😊😊 Good luck on finding some smaller, independent ones!

Me too! She writes them so well 😊 I'm not on Good Reads, I'm not really familiar with it but I'm going to look into it. It sounds fun if there's recommendations and stuff!
@@LeahWhispersASMR There are! That’s where I get a lot of my recommendations from. Nora Roberts is on there. You can follow her, other authors, your friends and family. It’s pretty neat. I keep up with the books that I’ve read on there because I have a TERRIBLE memory. 🤣 If you get on there, let me know!

It’s a great way to keep track of what you have read, make lists of what you would like to read, find reviews of things that you’re interested in, get suggestions for new books, etc. if you haven’t done anything like it yet, a book club/book review type video would be fun!

I recommend you actually remove those belt loop things; they will be maddening bc they will continue to break; I think they are more so to ensure that the belt makes it home with a garment; but I also do not support fast fashion and I appreciate your candor and willingness to share the stand you are taking as a “re-consumer”

I can't believe I didn't even think about just removing the loops. For some reason I thought they were essential to keep the tie on, but I guess you don't even have to have them there do you? So smart, thank you lol. Thrifting is so important to me, I wish more people would get into it. I'm pretty passionate about that kind of stuff and I'll always advocate for re-consuming 😊 I wish more people knew just how awful fast fashion is for the world :(
